i loveu angelina

# 2

showing off her new arm tattoo??

What is “showing off”?????

That woman having tattoos is her business, it’s the media and public who are meddlesome and make a fuss out of it!!

So anybody who have a tattoo shouldn’t wear t-shirt or any sleeveless top forever??? As it won’t cover their tattoo and became “showing off” ??? LOL

# 3

where is Brad? Vivienne is too old for carry a blanket

# 4

They look so cute, seems like Angie is making time so Brad can come and take care of the kids and she can start with her work

Love seeing the kids. Madd is all grown up. Shi is gorgeous and so is big sis. The twins are super adorable and Pax still hates the papz.

# 6

Wow Maddox is so tall and grown up looking. Beautiful loving family.

Maddox is a teenager already.

Beautiful all of them! They are getting so big and more gorgeous every day. Is Shiloh wearing a pink watch on her right wrist?

Angie is doing pre production works. Maddox grows up fast.

Love Shi’s smile. She is so pretty.

Per, 12 Years A Slave will close Hamptons international Film Festival .

Suri=meal ticket @ 09/10/2013 at 12:20 pm

Cute kids! Shiloh must have a blast! Look at the smile, while Z is my forever fave, holding Shi’s hand firmly in hers.
What a great big sis!

Love how close Shiloh and Zee seem to be. Reminds me of me and my sister. We had different personalities, but we were very close and best friends.

Oh and I read that before they left, little Knox stuck his head out of the van and waved to the paps! lol Think we may have another star in the making

Yes, JJ…they ARE lovely children. Lovely children and lovely parents..Just lovely!

Looks like TYAS is going to be at every film festival.

Wow, Maddox looks so tall now for a 12-year-old. He must be going through the growth spurt. I remember when he was that tiny toddler with mohawk, and posing with Angie on the bed with such a cute little smile. How time flies … and Brad and Angie have been together for so long now.

Zahara seems such a good and sweet affectionate girl. She’s always holding Shiloh’s hand and doesn’t care about the cameras or anyone else apart from her family. Very smart too.

Beautiful family they seem very very close.

Adorable kids @ 09/10/2013 at 12:51 pm

We are blessed for so many pictures of the kids, in the last year we only have a few photos but now, in Sydney, it´s a pictures-party.

I´m loving each day. We need to enjoy cause soon they will become more rare and after this days of a “paparazzi-free-pics”, the security team will start to work better and it will be more difficult to catch the JP kids.

I loved the Shiloh spirit and every time she appears, she make me smile. She have a funny cute expression in her face that it´s lovely and friendly. She will be something special in any thing she do. Like her mother and father Shiloh have something in her personality that catch the attention.

Because their parents are two special and exquisite persons and their international education, It´s is great to see this kids growing up, each one with her individual style and personality. lovely kids. kiss

Still not doing any filming preparations. It couldn’t be clearer that she wasn’t permitted to attend the TIFF as a +1 and took off in a hissy fit shower cry doing pap shoots every day to make Pitt pay for not allowing her on the RC for a project he was involved in. :rotflmao: How’s that exciting competition going for you goat granny?

Shiloh has such an infectious smile, Zee is still going strong in her love for all cheetah prints lol love these kids and their individual personalities. I honestly think every time I see Maddox he’s grown an inch taller.

Angelina is so beautiful. I know Brad misses her and the kids…they are such a wonderful family.

Stop mutilating yourself. It is horrible..

Viv seems such a whinging girl

12 Years a Slave and Mandela: Two Tales of Racism Survived
Of these biopics of racial abuse and transcendence, Steve McQueen’s film is the brutal, eloquent keeper

“I’ve had a difficult time these last several years,” Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free Northern black American abducted into Southern servitude in 1841, whispers with heroic understatement as he is reunited with his wife and children at the end of Steve McQuen’s 12 Years a Slave. Nelson Mandela (Idris Elba), the subject of Justin Chadwick’s Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, might make the same observation about his 27 years of imprisonment in South Africa.
Both fact-based dramas, receiving their official world premieres at the Toronto Film Festival, were directed by Englishmen (Chadwick, white; McQueen, black); the movies’ stars were born in London of African parents. Both movies are based on autobiographies: Northup’s Twelve Years a Slave was published in 1853, Mandela’s Long Walk to Freedom in 1994. Detailing the state-sanctioned degradation that white masters forced on their black subjects, the two films could serve as harrowing, edifying illustrations that America and South Africa allowed and encouraged such obscenities..

Big difference, though: Mandela rushes through its protagonist’s adult life, offering a Cliffs Notes précis of the life of the lawyer and outlaw who compelled the Boer government to give equal rights to its black majority. In 12 Years a Slave, McQueen immerses viewers in the magnolia-scented Hell to which Northup was exiled. You will recoil at every whiplash, feel each slur, wonder at man’s inhumanity to men and women he thought animals.

Mandela means to be in the mold of Gandhi, Richard Attenborough’s 1982 bio-pic that beat out E.T. for the Best Picture Oscar and earned Ben Kingsley an Academy Award for Best Actor. The movie was on the starchy side, but at least its central character did things; Mandela endures his ordeal on a stately march to his own and his country’s liberation. In the early scenes of William Nicholson’s screenplay, Nelson gets to argue cases for black clients, and wins because the whites bringing the charges are too insulted to be subject to a cross-examination from an inferior. But once in prison, he must be the voice of moderation, in effect negotiating between his more agitated colleagues and a stubborn government.

Elba, a one-man power storm as Stringer Bell in HBO’s The Wire, has also played gruff commanders — bulls with balls — in the sic-fi epics Prometheus and Pacific Rim. Here he must tamp down his energy to fit Mandela’s slimmer, quieter contours. That cedes center screen to Naomie Harris’s Winnie Mandela, the dimpled firebrand who preaches revolt in the streets while Nelson counsels talking with the politicians. Elba may be at the heart of the movie’s narrative, but Harris is its coursing, bubbling blood.

* * * *

We are told at the beginning of Mandela that white South Africans justified apartheid by believing (or pretending to) that science proved blacks were genetically inferior, and that the Bible says they were put on Earth to be subjugated. Those are also the claims of the plantation gentry that owned slaves, forced them into exhausting, unpaid labor and treated them like animals. “A man does what he wants with his property,” says Edwin Epps (Michael Fassbender), the most vicious of the three overlords that own Solomon Northup.

In Sarasota Springs, N.Y., Solomon had earned a comfortable income as a fiddler and was treated by by white friends and neighbors as an easy equal. Lured to Washington, D.C., for what he thinks is a brief musical engagement, he is filled with alcohol until he passes out, and awakes in chains. Ignoring his pleas of full citizenship, he captors beat him and send him south to servitude. If he wants to survive, a fellow black advises him, “Tell no one who you are. Tell no one you can read and write.” And Northup insists, “I don’t want to survive. I want to live.” Instead, he keeps silent, and endures the insult of a slave name: Pratt Hamilton — yes, like Olivia de Havilland’s Melanie Hamilton from Gone With the Wind.

These sprawling farms are no Tara — they are gulags — and 12 Years a Slave stand as a fierce refutation of the genial racial stereotypes on display in the Margaret Mitchell novel and David O. Selznick’s movie version. Indeed, McQueen’s film is closer in its storytelling particulars to such 1970s exploitation-exposés of slavery as Mandingo and Goodbye, Uncle Tom. Except that McQueen is not a schlockmeister sensationalist but a remorseless artist. The scenes of black flesh peddled by venal salesmen do not excite; they repel. And repellent is the word for the slave trader Theophilus Freeman (Paul Giametti), who encourages potential customers to prod the merchandise, check their teeth like horses.

McQueen’s previous films addressed intense subject matter — in Hunger, Bobby Sands’ hunger strike against the British occupier in Northern Ireland, and, in Shame, a man crippled by sex addiction, both films starring Fassbender — with an elegant visual austerity: long takes that build suffocating tension and prod viewers to find meaning in the corners of the image. In the epic form of 12 Years a Slave, his most approachable, emotional film, McQueen escalates the tension with two long scenes, nearly 10 minutes of screen time.

In the first, Solomon is hanged but left with his toes barely touching the ground; there he dangles, when losing his balance means death, as the plantation owner’s wife strides by, ignoring him, as do the slaves who continue on their yard chores. In the second scene, Epps grows enraged by his beloved slave mistress Patsey (Lupita Nyong’o), who is also the most productive cotton-picker on the farm, and orders Solomon to whip her. The camera circles the two, as lash follows lash, to make the spectator share the suffering of Patsey and Solomon — two victims of a sick master in a diseased social order. Though they considered their slaves less than human, Southern whites of the plantation aristocracy were the true troglodytes: inferior but in charge.

McQueen shows that racism, aside from its barbarous inhumanity, racism is insanely inefficient. It can be argued that Nazi Germany lost the war both because it diverted so much manpower to the killing of Jews and because it did not exploit the brilliance of Jewish scientists in building smarter weapons. So the slave owners dilute the energy of their slaves by whipping them for sadistic sport and, as Epps does, waking them law at night to dance for his wife’s cruel pleasure. It is the rare white man who will speak racial equality to the plantation owner’s power; in 12 Years a Slave, that voice is Brad Pitt’s. He tells Epps, “If you don’t treat them as humans, then you will have to answer for it.” Epps can’t even understand the question.

The movie enlists a small constellation of acclaimed actors, including Benedict Cumberbatch as a slightly more genteel slaver, and Alfre Woodard as a Southern woman who has achieved freedom of a sort by marrying a white. But Ejiofor has to be the focus. Like Elba’s Mandela character, Solomon is on the receiving end of abuse; his saving grace is the saintly dignity with which he endures and, for posterity, observes his own and a nation’s shame. The gentle center of a satanic land, he provides the eyes and soul of 12 Years a Slave — a document that is raw, eloquent, horrifying and essential.

Shiloh has a beautiful profile, just like her mommy.

There of pics of Angie and her film crew working on pre production in Sydney, Deakins and Hutman included. Sets have to be built, locations set up, AUS casting taking place, local crews hired , agreements still being negotiated re tax rebates and incentives with government. All this in local AUS papers. Filming said by actors involved to take place end of Oct and then end of year.

Angie is taking the kids out for fun things while they are in a hotel while she takes care of pre production details.

There is no defense for those possessing utter ignorance and vileness.

@Marginalized one #31

Well said. So jealous of Angie and the kids.

Beautiful kids with their beautiful mama. I can’t believe how much Maddox has grown.

The Real Silly Rabbit @ 09/10/2013 at 1:15 pm

Look at teen Mad. O.M.G he is not a baby anymore. Angie and her babies look happy again… Look at shiloh cheesing. Angie once again showing the workd what a De@dbeat daddy pitty is, haha.

Great pics, such a beautiful and happy family.

The Real Silly Rabbit @ 09/10/2013 at 1:20 pm

@Marginalized one: exactly Pitty fans don’t know what prep work is. Angelina is not just the director she is also a producer on Unbroken. She has a lot of work to do but she’s such a good mother that she makes time for her kids. De@d beat daddy is just acting and he is not allowed to have kids with him because they don’t want to be with him. I can’t imagine Angie ever being 20hrs away from her kids just to work on a movie with Shia Labouf and Logan lerman, bahaha.

But pitty fans aka Fftards are right, angie doesn’t have to take her children to the aquarium, bowling, to the zoo but she is showing the world that she is a single mother and Pitty is a de@dbeat dad so these little family trips are necessary for her next role as director, pilot, humanitarian, part time actress, jewelry designer, tattoo designer, AND SINGLE MOTHER OF SIX. Being Queen isn’t easy.

#Rose@09/10/12 at 11:07am( reply to post from previous thread)

Thanks Rose for the update translation of the new tattoo were getting there eventually someone will break the code and I bet you its going to be no fan but Angie her self depends if a reporter is braver enough to ask her the question. Remember when she has the 7 line tattoo under the existing 6 destinations of the kids and the media went in over drive when they saw it. At the time the main gossip was its the the 7 the child or the destination of their wedding , it ended up when in an interview she was asked she said its Brads Date of birth and destination so I’ll waite for Angie to tell us at least the source is kosher don’t you agree Rose lol.

Don’t talk about Mileys Toung damn that think has a life of its own how long is that tongue I bet her tongue can give Gene Simmons tongue a run for its money in its length, its plain freaky lol, but still have soft spot for the crazy girl I know wonders never seize do they. I was looking at the photos of Taylor Swift all over the Australian up an coming actor the one who is playing Prince in Angies Maleficent they looked very cosy hmm and did you see what Julia Roberts was wearing red mini dress why do women over 42 insist on dressing like teens I just don’t know. I saw the after party photos JR damn the women is so over doing her smooze and her hyena laugh, if i see that mouth of hers any wider i’m tempeted to stuff a sock in it.

I can’t believe how tall Maddox has gotten. He and Shiloh are both tall for their ages. It’ll be interesting to see how tall Mad gets. Asians aren’t exactly known for their tall stature.

The Real Silly Rabbit @ 09/10/2013 at 1:29 pm

@Marginalized one: btw, I don’t think FfTards know who roger deakins is. I am sure they will identify him as Angie’s lover. Haha this movie is going to be EPIC with that level of talent. Jon hutman also worked on Angie’s directorial debut. Ahhhh amazing.

Angelina Jolie, Six Kids Go Bowling in Australia, Brad Pitt Says He’s “Jealous”
Angelina Jolie may be minding their six kids solo in Australia, but Brad Pitt swears he’s the one who is missing out! While promoting his new drama film, 12 Years a Slave, at the Toronto International Film Festival, the 49-year-old actor told Access Hollywood that he wishes he could be with his family.
“Yeah, she’s got her hands full,” Pitt joked of his fiancee. “I’m actually jealous.”
Jolie, 38, has been bravely leading their kids Maddox, 12, Pax, 9, Zahara, 8, Shiloh, 7, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 5, around Australia, where she is set to begin shooting her next directorial effort, Unbroken. On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the actress and her children were seen leaving Strike Bowling Centre at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park after enjoying some quality time together.

Following the buddy system, the Jolie-Pitt kids held hands while heading to their car. Stylish tomboy Shiloh, wearing a gray T-shirt with yellow trim and black pants, tucked her chin-length blonde hair behind her ears and flashed photographers a big smile. She held hands with sister Zahara, who wore a pink graphic sweatshirt and animal-print leggings. Older brother Maddox styled a blue dress shirt and black pants, while Pax hid under a gray stars and stripes hoodie. Little Vivienne looked adorable in a colorful dress with black leggings underneath, and twin brother Knox wore a plan white shirt and black pants.

Since arriving in Australia on Sept. 6, Jolie has dressed in head-to-toe black. During a solo stroll on Monday, Sept. 9, the Oscar-winning star, who underwent a preventative double mastectomy earlier this year, debuted a large new tattoo of what appeared to be Arabic writing on the lower part of her right arm. The ink has yet to be translated.

Phool, did you see that comment I left about Aisha Tyler. Well, the story is: while listening, not watching, to the tv, SBT, on HLN. last night the host AJ Hammer had two of the hosts from “The Talk” on his show. He asked both who would you like to spend a weekend with if you could chose anyone. Aisha, who worked with Ticky on Friends said she would want to spend time with Brad and Angelina because they seems like such a cool and fun couple. She would like to know what book they read, and what they talk about. She would also want to be with the kids because the whole family seems like fun. Now Phool, remember Aishy worked with Ticky and even she don’t want to spend a weekend with her. You know, that just confirmed how booring Ticky is, lol. The next lady said she would want to spend her time with Oprah.

Over the weekend I was watching Family Feud, one of the question was: “we asked 100 people this question, if Brad Pitt is a 10 what would most people be”. The No 1 answer was a 5 compared to Brad Pitt a 10. Suck to be a troll.

Passing Through @ 09/10/2013 at 1:36 pm

I guess Angie is taking the kids on a tour of international bowling alleys. They went to one in Malta and I’m pretty sure I remember reading that they went to one in London last year. Maybe it’s in memory of her grandparents. Gosh, trolls, maybe she’s holding seances conducted by a voodoo high priestess so she can talk to them and her mother…

Adorable kids @ 09/10/2013 at 1:38 pm

@The Real Silly Rabbit:

hey, don´t you dare to be rude with Angie and the kids. be careful with what you post about the JP children. If you cross the line of RESPECT we will flag you, piece of human trash full of envy, jealous and hate.

Btw, Angie is written with capital “A” not “a”. And for you it´s “Royal Highness Angelina Jolie-Pitt” and you must bow your small head (full of sand instead brain) to speak about them. Get it.

When all is said and done, Shiloh or Knox will be the tallest kid in that family.
Brad’s dad looks tall, Jamie and Jon are well over six feet. Shiloh may look like Brad, but I see a lot of Angie’s mannerisms in her.

Ssshhii_baby @ 09/10/2013 at 1:40 pm

waving hi to all the Jolie-Pitt fans from around the world!!! hugs for Phool&Rose!!! wow!!! Madd is soooo grown!!! the kids are sooo beautiful! all looked happy&very well behaved…Angie is showing people how to multi-task!! love this family

Observer2 @ 09/10/2013 at 1:41 pm

LMAO! at funny bunny.

No, we don’t know who Roger Deakins is. Nope. He only did TAOJJ with Brad. Brad hired him. Oh and RD works with the Coens, a lot.

Brad’s been friends with the Coen Bro. for years and who wrote the Unbroken script?

Oh and Angelina is working with a lot of people that Plan B has worked with and is working with.

It’s nice when a husband and wife work together. Or when the husband has a production company and can share the wealth and give support to his wife.

Observer2 @ 09/10/2013 at 1:43 pm

# 42@Passing Through:

Well, since that worked for her to steal Brad away from Lenny.

The Real Silly Rabbit @ 09/10/2013 at 1:43 pm

@Phool: we know he’s jealous. pitty is working with the uber thespians Shia Labouf and Logan Lerman in England while Angie is directing a movie with Roger Deakins handling Cinematography. And on her downtime she gets to explore AUSTRALIA with her kids making her image as supermom even more of a reality at the same time squashing Pitt’s good daddy image. Then throw in her Second Oscar and yeah we knows he’s jelly. He’s a jealous betch.

@Passing Through: Hi PT, I was thinking the same thing about MADD’s getting so tall. Asians are generally on the shorter size. PT, did you see Shi and ZZ, on BF, they have better and bigger, and many more pictures than JJ. OMG, those two girls grew overnight. I swear they grew about three inches last night, :-), another photo has Shi and know in the same picture and they both have the exact biting of the bottom lip like their father, that was so funny looking at that photo.

It is kinda scary to see Maddox grows up so quick, to me he is always the cute baby Angie adopted.

The Real Silly Rabbit @ 09/10/2013 at 1:49 pm

@Observer2: so you’re an Fftard? I was under the impression that you were on the other side and claimed the brangtard sect.

@Rose: Take any thing Aisha Tyler say with a grain of salt, on her talk show, she was bashing Angie, but Sharon Osbourne usually shuts her down.
She only want to know, so she could run and tell Ticky, she is just talking out of the other side of her mouth now.

Passing Through @ 09/10/2013 at 1:53 pm

BTW – while I’m thinking of it…I think Brad picked out Shiloh’s pants. One word: Drawstring…

I love you all Jolie-Pitt <3

Adorable kids @ 09/10/2013 at 1:57 pm

@Passing Through:
Good memory PT, it must be that, maybe she told them that her mother grow up near a bowling alley and now each time they visit a new city they don´t forget of that.

But PT don´t give that kind of ideas to the haters-trolls, they will believed and make that some kind of reality or something that Angie have said. You know they are craaaazy….hha haha

The Real Silly Rabbit @ 09/10/2013 at 1:58 pm

Aww poor darlings, trying to keep Pitty connected with Angie through the people Angie is working with. You do know Angie hooked up with the coens through their relationship with Billy, right? Oh you didn’t know that. Ok. Hehe

Observer2 @ 09/10/2013 at 1:59 pm

Awww, funny bunny.

You’re so upset.

Can’t handle the truth can you?

Brad’s movie, that he produced and because of him, it got made TYAS is getting rave reviews.

Brad and Angelina are a team. She’s using a lot of the same people that Brad and his production company have and are working with.

Like I said, it’s nice when they can support each other in all aspects.

I’ve just been so dazzled by your bull$hit.

I especially love how your so well versed in the ins and outs of the movie making business. Especially the financial aspects of it all. When you threw down that Brad put a bunch of his own money into WWZ. That was such a thing of pure beauty. It was mind boggling. Boggled the mind. It was of such brilliance that it was as bright, shiny and glaring as Angelina’s engagement ring. And that Angelina chose Australia to get away from Brad. Pure genius on your end. LMAO!

It’s nice for the Australian Press to break it down for you, gangster style about Unbroken and why it’s being filmed in Australia.

Good times!

Observer2 @ 09/10/2013 at 2:01 pm

I can not believe how tall Maddox is getting. He’s going to dwarf Angelina.

@Susan: I know she was a tickys hen, but Sharon might have talked some sense into her. She did say on national tv she would want to spend time with Brad and Angelina. She should have said I worked with Ticky so I know she is fun to spend the weekend with, however, she never mentioned tickys name. Ouch, ouch. Aisha threw her friend under the bus and name dropped Brad and Angelina. Susan, maybe Aisha and Ticky had a falling out, like how she and CC is never seen together again. Ticky is a user, and a fake.

The Real Silly Rabbit @ 09/10/2013 at 2:02 pm

The Real Silly Rabbit @ 09/10/2013 at 2:04 pm

@Observer2: Angie + kids+ 20hrs separating “daddy” from them = Happy family. Have you ever seen Shiloh smile so much in photos? These kids are happy and comfortable with out their “daddy” that should tell you something, fftard and brangtards. How long as it been since they’ve hugged “daddy”? They look so carefree like as long as they have their mother all is right in the world.

Angie +kids – Brad is how it should’ve always been. And it shows on their faces. Sucks for you. Hahah

Kinda blows your theory right out of the water.

Better tell Angelina to quit wearing her engagement ring. Matching shades to Brad’s glasses.

Oh and she better tell Brad’s longtime bodyguards to hit the road. You know, the bodyguards that have been with Brad pre-Angelina. Angelina is way too smart to allow them with their family. Ya know, in case they’re there to spy on her. LMAO!

Bookmarks – Mott gets praise in early reviews
By Ben Steelman
Published: Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
Last Modified: Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 5:23 p.m.

Early reviews are strong for “The Returned” by Jason Mott, the Columbus County native who’s an alumnus of both the BFA and MFA programs in creative writing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

“Who would have thought there was a fresh way to look at the undead?” commented Entertainment Weekly, which awarded “The Returned” a respectable grade of B+.

“In the end, the zombie-chewed brains of ‘The Walking Dead’ come nowhere near the eternal heart of ‘The Returned,’?” wrote Brian Truitt in USA Today.

Truitt praised Mott for his poetic turn of phrase, and Thom Geier, writing in “Entertainment Weekly,” writes that “Mott turns phrases with poetic grace,” citing the metaphor, “The crowd parted like heavy batter.”

One sour note

A sour note came from Alan Cheuse, the National Public Radio critic who reviewed “The Returned” for The Boston Globe.

Cheuse compared Mott to the Portuguese Nobel Prize winner for literature Jose Saramago, and allowed that “The Returned” is “a good enough book.” On the other hand, he suggested that Mott was “reinventing the wheel” and concluded, “Is it worth all the fanfare? I’m afraid not.”

Geier complained that the ending “veers into standard thriller territory, with hints of Nicholas-Sparks-level mawkishness.”

On the other hand, Cheuse noted that the novel “should make you want to watch this new writer to see where he goes next.”

Meanwhile, the TV-series version of “The Returned” – renamed “Resurrection” – is scheduled to premiere March 14 on ABC. Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company bought up rights to Mott’s novel just as Harlequin MIRA was bidding for publication.

Mott told Entertainment Weekly that he had seen the pilot episode (filmed in Atlanta) and was enthusiastic.

“Once they got Omar Epps to play one of the leads, I was 100 percent behind it,” he said.

Epps, most memorable as one of the put-upon young doctors on TV’s “House,” is slated to play Agent Bellamy, a well-meaning but ambiguous character from the novel.

On Prologue

One final note: Mott will be the guest author for Prologue, the StarNews/WHQR book club, in November.

The Real Silly Silly Rabbit @ 09/10/2013 at 2:12 pm

@The Real Silly Silly Rabbit:

You are one pathetic betch. Stealing people’s name and have the nerve to say I am a stalker. Maybe you should take your own advice and stop stalking and stealing someone’s name.

The Real Silly Silly Rabbit @ 09/10/2013 at 2:13 pm

@Observer2: I think it’s pretty clear why Angie is 20hrs away from Pitty, instead of in hawaii. Besides the tax break because Hawaii would’ve been cheaper for universal.

The ring is a good one for the Fftards. If Angie really wanted the attention they say she craves she would simply remove the ring. She keeps it on because she doesn’t need the press.
Nice try claiming those are Pitty’s guards.not. Those are Angie’s since pre Pitty and some new Australians.

Angie +kids- brad = the happiest I’ve ever seen this lovely family.

Keep the spin alive…… It is hilarious watching you try to keep Angie connected to Pitty. I know, I know, pitty the de@dbeat daddy picked out shilohs pants bahaha almost as funny as claiming Angie was wearing hammer pants like Pitty and justin bieber.

I remember Coen Brothers were trying to team up with Brad on a film with almost exact plot like Unbroken, I think it is called “white sea”, but it wasn’t a true story and it didn’t get made. I think Brad suggested Coen brothers to Angie since they had similiar script already.
Angie hasn’t started filming yet, no way she just finalized location and started shooting immediately, she is still on pre production phase. Fury director has worked in London preparing Fury for almost 3 months. Looks like Brad will finished Fury before Unbroken starts filming, so Brad can take care of kids while Angie is really busy in filming. Brad and Angie always plan ahead.

Zamperini: Story of survival has Hollywood ending

Louis Zamperini’s life story could be going Hollywood with some big talent behind it. Angelina Jolie reportedly will direct a film on Zamperini, and the renowned Coen brothers, Ethan and Joel, are slated to write the final script.

Jolie had a full crew up at Zamperini’s house in the Hollywood hills a few weeks ago to film, said his daughter, Cynthia Garris, who also doubles as his manager.

Jolie is doing budgeting, location scouting and casting, said Garris, who added that the project hasn’t officially been greenlighted yet. She indicated that Jolie has a relatively unknown actor, whom she wouldn’t name, in mind to play her dad in his younger years. Much of the film will be shot in Hawaii, Garris believes.

“She’s a very passionate woman,” she said of Jolie. “We are thrilled to have her in our life.”

Zamperini’s son Luke called Jolie a “powerhouse,” adding, “I’m really hopeful she’s going to do this story the right way.”

Jolie and her famous actor-husband, Brad Pitt, attended Zamperini’s 96th birthday party in late January, Garris said. When Pitt asked her dad if he wanted someone younger than Pitt to portray him, Zamperini shot back, “No, someone better looking.”

Shiloh and Knox are the sunshine kids. Those two seem to have smile or an implish glint in their eyes no matter what’s going on around them. Occasionally Knox breaks out his “Leave me alone, you stooge!” scowl, but not very often. I remember when Shiloh was a baby Angie called her something like, “My little ray of sunshine”…then said Shiloh reminded her of herself and “…that one’s going to be some trouble…” You know she and Z (and Viv) can “do no wrong” in Brad’s eyes. Look at those faces. No father would be able to punish those two girls without feeling bad about it afterwards and easing up on the punishment. That’s why Angie has to do it.

I don’t know if this review of TYAS has been published on this site already but I think that is is probably my favorite on so far. Just love the intensity of it.
———————————————————————————————————On a Friday night in the small mountain village of Telluride, Colo., an anxious crowd awaited the premiere of the film “12 Years a Slave.” Two hours of horrified, stunned silence later, the audience erupted into applause.

The film is based on and named after the memoirs of Solomon Northrup, a free black man who was kidnapped and sold into slavery during the mid-19th century. “12 Years” comes to the public courtesy of director Steve McQueen. Before anyone thinks that a ghost directed this movie, this is a different Steve McQueen, not to be confused with the famed actor who died in 1980. The “12 Years” McQueen notably directed the films “Hunger” and “Shame,” both critically acclaimed for their high quality and graphic content. “12 Years” is McQueen’s third film and his most high profile project to date, and it was finally shown to the public for the first time on Aug. 30 at the Telluride Film Festival.

“12 Years” is likely not only the greatest slave movie ever made but also one of the most beautiful, affecting, and haunting films I have ever had the pleasure of watching. The most noteworthy component of the movie, and one that every viewer should be aware of going into it, is that it is horrendously graphic. The amount of physical abuse in the film is nauseating, but the uncomfortable feelings the film evokes are one of its major strengths. “12 Years” is an unflinching, unrestrained look at the morbid reality of slavery, and McQueen handles the subject with grace and aplomb. Blood sprays in mists from the back of the characters as they are whipped, and ear-splitting screams erupt with each crack. This is as realistic as it can get, and the faint of heart should take note. While no one should avoid this film because of the graphic content, it would be unfair go in without a warning.

Another triumph for “12 Years” comes from the performances of its cast, and a few of its members will undoubtedly win Oscars this coming award season. Leading man Chiwetel Ejiofor turns in a tour de force as Solomon Northrup, and I can’t imagine another actor outperforming him this year. It’s that good. Also included in the cast is the great Michael Fassbender, who starred in both of McQueen’s previous films. Fassbender portrays the villainous plantation owner Edwin Epps, and, as always, his contributions are remarkable. With Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Paul Giamatti, and producer Brad Pitt all taking their turns, a bevy of supporting characters flow in and out of the story. However, the best supporting role comes by way from newcomer Lupita Nyong’o, who gives an unforgettable performance as Epps’ favorite slave, Patsey. The way in which the actors and actresses in the film are able to identify with and express the characters is simply amazing. It’s difficult to imagine any of them being beaten out for Academy Awards.

At the end of the day, though, it’s McQueen’s distinct directing style that ties it all together. Anyone who doesn’t understand how a film can be considered art should see this movie, because it’ll all make sense after this one. McQueen not only has an eye for beautiful and well constructed shots, but he also understands the finer points of filmmaking and that simple, subtle techniques can contribute to a final product immensely. For instance, the seemingly slow pace of “12 Years” is deliberate and excruciating; two hours ends up feeling like somewhere around three or four. This is all in service to the experience, as it then becomes very upsetting to imagine how long 12 years of slavery must have felt to the protagonist.

Another perennial McQueen technique is his use of long take, and while it is used sparingly, it makes a grand appearance here. A long take is a technique used in film where a scene (or, more rarely, a whole film) does not contain breaks within the shot and tends to be lengthier than the other scenes. One specific instance of this long take results in one of the most gut-wrenching, horrifying moments of the film. Trust me; just see the movie and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Overall, there is a good fluctuation between moments of raw emotion and cold detachment, and with the sheer volume of gruesome scenes, it’s impressive that McQueen was able to squeeze out as much passion as he did from the story.

Let me be clear: I am aware of how glowing this review is, and of how much I’m gushing over this movie. Make no mistake though; “12 Years a Slave” is a triumphant film, a victory not only for McQueen but also for every single person involved. The film is currently making its rounds at several film festivals in anticipation of its Oct. 18 release, and each showing brings more and more glowing reviews and calls fo

Oscar nominations. This is the must-see movie of the year, and there is absolutely no excuse for anyone to skip it. If you’re squeamish, too damn bad. For anyone who appreciates movies as an art form, consider it your homework for this fall. Gratuitous, gory, and absolutely gorgeous, “12 Years a Slave” is unforgettable.

Apparently the trollsl think you just show up somewhere, whip out the cameras and actors and start filming. She doesn’t have a traditional job herself so she doesn’t understand how one’s work is usually predicated on the work of others. In the trolls’ line of work they’re used to just laying on their backs and letting the “client” get on with it. Or getting their knees as the “client” whips it out. Therefore the idea of “pre-production” is unfamiliar to them.

TYAS is gonna slay come awards time. Even though Gravity is getting amazing reviews, people are not gushing about it the way that they are TYAS. And the other big contenders such as Osange County, the film about Nelson Mandela and the Fifth Estate about Julian Assange have hardly set the festival alight.

Though I hope that TYAS as a piece of art will see it well through the Oscars, you get the impression that Steve, Michael and Chiwetel are not prepared to play the awards BS that Clooney and Weinstein have perfected to an art form and I hope that this does not disadvantage them come the Oscars.

TYAS is 100% fresh with average rating 9/10 on rottentomatoes.

Yeah, I have the same feeling about TYAS that they dominated TIFF and the awards discussion(includes Oscars). TYAS is the film to beat and I don’t see any films matching the anticipation and momentum that TYAS receive. Again there is great reviews for Gravity and upcoming of American Hustle. But clearly looking of all the major reviews from critics and the public response, TYAS is the film to beat and is the film of the year. And i wan’t be surprise is TYAS dominated the awards season and the Oscars. TYAS is truly a powerful film.

The trolls and ticky should be frightened and concern. But with no surprise they are arlready scared and concern that TYAS and Brad will win his first Oscar come March 2.

12 Years a Slave
TIFF 2013 Review

As the end credits rolled during TIFF’s first press and industry screening of Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave, a peculiar thing occurred: very few people moved. Some quickly sprinted down the stairs, hurrying for their next screening, but many, like yours truly, just sat and stared, feeling emotionally overwhelmed by the experience. The film is that kind of success, a stunningly realized achievement that will clearly rank among the finest — if not the finest — films of 2013. McQueen, the British helmer behind Hunger and Shame, has brought America’s most shameful period to the screen with a fury and authenticity the likes of which audiences have never seen.
Perhaps a story of slavery set along these particular lines was necessary to truly connect with modern viewers, for the protagonist of this true tale, Solomon Northup, was a free man sold into slavery in 1841. (The film itself based on Northup’s eponymous account.) Solomon, played by the great Chiwetel Ejiofor, was a musician in Saratoga, New York, a respected husband and father of two. When offered the lucrative opportunity to perform with a traveling circus in Washington, D.C., he cannot help but accept. But in a stunning jump cut, we shift from a wine-fueled dinner to Solomon in nightmarish shackles, cruelly betrayed by the gentlemen who recruited him. Despite the almost 150-year time differential, the situation of a free man made enslaved is identifiable; there is a moment when Ejiofor looks directly into McQueen’s camera, and it hammers home the feeling that Solomon is one of us, and we are Solomon.
And whether one already knows how Northup’s story ended or not, we are an eyewitness to his brutal journey. One of Solomon’s early encounters after losing his freedom is with slimy trader (Paul Giamatti), with whom Solomon is rather lucky to have been sold to William Ford (Benedict Cumberbatch), a plantation owner who, about as likable as an onscreen slave owner can be, treats him with respect, even something resembling kindness. But, after an altercation with a monster in Ford’s employ (the ever-weasel-y Paul Dano), Solomon is sent to the cruel, complex, diabolical Edwin Epps. In what is perhaps the actor’s most effective performance yet, he is played by McQueen’s Hunger and Shame star, Michael Fassbender.
The majority of the film takes place on Epps’s horrific plantation. Here, we meet Epps’s equally vile wife (Sarah Paulson gives a performance unlike any she’s delivered thus far), the sweet-natured Patsey (Lupita Nyong’o), and, eventually, a Canadian carpenter played with confident efficiency by 12 Years’ producer, Brad Pitt. All are memorable, especially Fassbender’s Epps and Nyong’o’s Patsey, but there is no one who commands the screen like Ejiofor. Not every actor could make a shouted line like “I will not fall into despair” work, but nothing which comes out of his mouth sounds rote or unbelievable; the man is in almost every scene, and he nails all featuring his presence.
The film is, then, a tremendous achievement for its actors and directors, but also for screenwriter John Ridley, composer Hans Zimmer, cinematographer Sean Bobbitt, and, frankly, virtually everyone else involved. It’s rare to say a movie has no false notes, but such is the case with 12 Years a Slave, a film that, days later, may still leave viewers shaking. When was the last time you experienced a movie that truly lingered in the memory? McQueen has crafted such an epic, and, in doing so, has made a 21st-century masterpiece. This is likely to be the most moving cinematic experience of the year, and if there is any justice, McQueen’s film will be required viewing in American classrooms — itself something of an ironic statement, given that McQueen is British. You want to see, hear, and feel slavery? Here is the system, in all its awful components.
12 Years a Slave premiered at TIFF and opens on October 18. Click below for our complete coverage.

An Unblinking Portrait of Slavery in ’12 Years’
TORONTO September 11, 2013 (AP)
By JAKE COYLE AP Entertainment Writer

In Steve McQueen’s “12 Years a Slave,” Solomon Northop, a free man from upstate New York who’s kidnapped and sold into slavery in Louisiana played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, is hung for daring to strike an abusive and imbecilic plantation hand (Paul Dano). He’s cut down, but only just barely enough to reach the ground. McQueen captures it all in one long, agonizing take, as Northop is left dangling, shuffling excruciatingly on his tiptoes.”I don’t think I’ve seen that on film, and I wanted to make damn sure if it was on film, it was going to be done well,” McQueen said in a recent interview. “It was very necessary for me to use those kind of shots to tell the story. Film is what 115, 120 years old? It’s a baby. There’s no right or wrong way to shoot anything. It’s not style. It’s necessity.”
Film history, however, is long enough that one might expect one of the nation’s most essential chapters to have been depicted on screen more frequently and fervently. “It’s a massive hole,” says McQueen. There have, of course, been a handful of notable films about slavery (“Beloved,” ”Amistad,” the miniseries “Roots”), but, it’s safe to say, never before has there been a movie like this. “12 Years a Slave” is the most unblinking portrait of slavery yet seen in cinema: a straightforward resurrection of its atrocities, complications and, most of all, its plain reality.”I wanted everyone to be Solomon Northup,” says McQueen. “You are on that journey with him.”"12 Years a Slave,” which Fox Searchlight will release in theaters Oct. 18, premiered over the weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival where it was hailed as a masterpiece and very possibly this year’s best picture Oscar winner. It is quickly gathering force as a kind of epochal achievement.McQueen, the British director of the sex-addiction drama “Shame” and the Irish Republican Army hunger strike tale “Hunger,” had planned to make a film about slavery, but it didn’t take shape until his wife came across Northop’s 1853 autobiography, which straightforwardly tells of his nightmarish odyssey.Ejiofor (the “Dirty Pretty Things,” ”Kinky Boots” British actor of Nigerian roots) plays Northop, a violinist taken from his family and put into servitude on plantations, all the while unable to contact his home or even proclaim his true identity. His journey, “down the rabbit hole” as Ejiofor says, isn’t into a uniformly evil world of slavery, but one peopled by a wide spectrum of human decency, both masters and slaves.
It’s in many ways about how, faced with unspeakable hardship, one reacts. Northop refuses to surrender.”They’re something about it that I find very heroic,” says Ejiofor. “You could only find that by really confronting his experience head-on.”
The hanging scene is only one of the film’s lengthy moments — a beating that serves as an introduction to life as a slave; a forced whipping of another slave — showed in full, unbroken view.”If you don’t know what that feels like,” says Ejiofor, “if you don’t get inside that experience of being there all day, out there in the sun, hung by your neck, barely able to stay alive, then you don’t know the depth that this man is prepared to go to in order to keep himself alive.”
The film is often harrowingly difficult to watch. But it’s ultimately concerned with being faithful to Northop’s experience (“Solomon deserved nothing less,” says McQueen), and capturing his undimmed dignity. Northop went on to be part of the abolitionist movement and lecture on slavery throughout the Northeast.”This is not National Geographic or any kind of scientific exploration to tell you how things actually were,” says McQueen. “It’s about the narrative.”Though the experience of making such a film, shot in 35 days outside of New Orleans, might be expected to be weighed with the heaviness of its subject, the cast says the process was too focused, too fast-moving for such a mindset. Says McQueen: “If you start thinking about it in such a way, it will paralyze you.”Michael Fassbender, who starred in both of McQueen’s previous films, plays Edwin Epps, the far harsher of two plantation owners. (The other, more benevolent plantation owner is played by Benedict Cumberbatch). He’s described with understatement as “a man of hard countenance.”Fassbender sought to find the humanity in Epps, who’s torn by his love for his most prized cotton-picker (Lupita Nyong’o, in a shattering performance).”You are going to places that are uneasy, but it’s my job,” says Fassbender. “Of course the emotional elements follow, and they do have an effect and there’s a residue going home with them. But concentrating on the work sort of protects yourself from that.”

Sorry Folks, Jennifer Aniston Is Indeed A Genuine Movie Star
by Scott Mendelson for

Jennifer Aniston attends the “We’re The Millers” New York Premiere at Ziegfeld Theater on August 1, 2013 in New York City. (Photo by Rob Kim/Getty Images)

Most probably didnt notice or dont care, but Warner Bros. Were The Millers has now amassed $124 million at the domestic box office as of Monday. Of note, it surpassed the $117m gross of Horrible Bosses and the $118m domestic gross of The Break-Up to became co-star Jennifer Anistons third-biggest domestic grosser, behind Marley & Me ($143m) and Bruce Almighty ($242m). Its a continuing testament to the relative box office bankability of an actress that most pundits are all-too-quick to write off as proverbial box office poison (Google Jennifer Aniston and bomb). In truth, her financially profitable films far outnumber here genuine money-losing flops.

Now this isnt a referendum of the overall quality of Ms. Anistons film projects any more than a box office audit of Adam Sandler would take into account the relative paucity of quality films (although I still argue You Dont Mess With the Zohan is an underrated gem of a critique of Israel/Palestine tensions). But even a cursory glance at the twenty-five films on Jennifer Anistons resume, from Leprechaun in January of 1993 to the current Were the Millers shows a relative pattern of genuine cost-to-gross profitability ratio. Of note, Leprechaun was pretty much the only feature film that she made prior to Friends and thus the only film that didnt at least partially depend on her alleged popularity/box office drawing power to make back its investment.

Whats interesting is how rarely Aniston played what amounted to the token girlfriend, even if thats the case in her biggest hit (Universals Bruce Almighty) and her biggest and costliest flop (Warner Bros. Rock Star, which starred Mark Wahlberg and made $17 million worldwide on a $57m budget). With few exceptions, she was either the least or co-lead in a romantic comedy/drama or was part of an ensemble. Her first post-Friends star vehicle was the romantic comedy Picture Perfect, which grossed $44m worldwide on a $19m budget in 1997. The next, The Object of My Affection with Paul Rudd, earned $46m on an $15m budget in 1998. This was the pattern for much of her career. The hits arent always huge, but the budgets are usually small.

Pundits and the like tend to hold up low-grossing films like The Switch or Love Happens and call Aniston box office poison while ignoring how cheap those films were to make. The Switch, which I might add is a genuinely good movie with Jason Bateman about a hard-to-market subject (artificial insemination), earned $49 million on a mere $19m budget. Love Happens may have a title that belongs in a spoof of romantic dramedies, but the Aniston/Aaron Eckhart vehicle earned exactly twice its $18m budget worldwide, making it a break-even proposition before DVD/VOD. She has a host of smaller genre fare on her resume, such as Friends With Money ($18m worldwide on a $6.5m budget), Derailed ($57m on a $22m budget), and The Good Girl ($16m on an $8m budget). Jennifer Aniston isnt attempting to front a $150 million fantasy spectacular or a$100 million mega-comedy. She tends to make smaller, and/or more intimate genre films which dont need to be blockbusters to be hits.

Ironically, two of her biggest whiffs probably rank among her best films, both in 1999, as the $70m The Iron Giant made just $23m while the $10m Office Space earned just $10m (Im presuming the latter films cult status has slowly pushed it into profitability). Now Aniston arguably deserves little blame for the failures of those two, and it can be argued how much she helped the Jim Carrey-is-God religious comedy Bruce Almighty (although she was the highlight of the mostly forgettable picture). But when the big money is spent and she is expected to draw real crowds, she generally delivers regardless of whether or not the movie is any good.

There are some exceptions, of course. Rumor Has It grossed $88m worldwide, but on an alleged $70m budget, although one must presume that at least some of that exorbitant cost went to the copious re-shoots and reedits (the version I saw at a test screening a year before release seemed perfectly mediocre to me). And last years Wanderlust, again with Paul Rudd, couldnt even muster its $35m budget in global grosses (it earned just $23m). But those are among the very few arguably big movies aside from the aforementioned Rock Star that lost big money with Anistons name on the poster. The rest were solid moneymakers.

Along Came Polley, with Ben Stiller, earned $171m on a $42m budget back in 2004. The Break-Up, which capitalized on her then-romance with co-star Vince Vaughn in 2006, opened with $39m (her biggest debut outside of Carreys $67m opening for Bruce Almighty) and ended up with $204m on a $52m budget. 20th Century Foxs Christmas 2008 smash Marley & Me, co-starring Owen Wilson and a dog, earned $242m worldwide on a $60m budget. At $143m, its Anistons biggest domestic grosser outside of the Jim Carrey-fueled Bruce Almighty. The allegedly troubled and postponed ensemble romantic comedy, Hes Just Not That Into You (starring, among many others, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Connelly, Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johansson, and Drew Barrymore) almost went direct-to-DVD before opening in early 2009, opening with $28m and earning $178m on a $40m budget.

Sonys The Bounty Hunter, which co-starred Gerald Butler, was written off as a flop after it only opened to $20 million in 2010, but it ended up grossing $136m on a $40m budget. The Adam Sandler-fueled Just Go With It earned $100m domestic and $214m worldwide for Sony on an $80m budget (Sandler has a propensity for weirdly expensive comedies). Finally we get to the last two biggies, both from Warner Bros. and both of which played off of Anistons would-be sex appeal. Horrible Bosses cast her as a rape-minded dentist, but played for laughs because hot women raping men is funny (thats a discussion for another day). The ensemble with Kevin Spacey, Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jamie Foxx, and Colin Farrell opened with $28m and earned $209m on a $35m budget. The Horrible Bosses campaign emphasized Aniston as a sex doll man eater caricature, a template repeated for this summers Were the Millers, which cast her as a stripper and emphasized her climactic strip tease in the trailers and television spots. Were the Millers is now at $178m and climbing worldwide on a $37m budget.

Out of twenty-five theatrical features since 1993, six of them have grossed $100 million domestic while five have grossed $200m worldwide, with Were the Millers likely to become the sixth, none with a budget of more than $81m. Of her genuine we lost money bombs, arguably only Wanderlust and Rumor Has It depended on Anistons pull to sell, and Rumor Has It, also starring Kevin Costner and Shirley MacClaine, would have been fine at $88m worldwide without the exorbitant budget that was partially caused by the legendary production nightmare that caused original director Red Griffin to be replaced by Rob Reiner. The Iron Giant was an animated film and Rock Star was a Mark Wahlberg vehicle through-and-through (Anistons face isnt even on the poster). The majority of the rest of her filmography is filled with cheap films that made enough money to justify their investment.

Heres the irony: Most of those cheap pictures can attribute the vast majority of their financial success to Anistons draw. Jennifer Aniston is another genuine movie star who can be considered a bigger star because the vast majority of her films are disposable. The very fact that films like Love Happens, The Switch, Derailed, or Picture Perfect made any money at all can be mostly attributed to Anistons genuine box office drawing power, because they had little else to sell (we can debate Jason Batemans star power another day, but Ill merely add that hes one of my favorite character actors). Like Melissa McCarthy (who is new to this game) or Adam Sandler (who is still the dominant comedy star of our era), the vast majority of Anistons films are successes only because of the drawing power of the person whose face is on the poster.

So sorry folks, Jennifer Aniston is not box office poison or any such rubbish. Not because her films are generally very good, but because the vast majority of her films are profitable regardless of their quality. She may not make the best films or command the biggest budgets, but she is a consistent and reliable box office performer. This has little to do with her worth as an actress or her worth as a human being. Shes a perfectly fine actress (again, shes terrific and grounded in the otherwise farcical Bruce Almighty) and I have no judgments or interest in her off-screen life. But in terms of her ability to draw crowds in numbers relative to the needs and expectations of a given project, films with often little to sell other than its top-billed actress, Jennifer Aniston is a genuine movie star.

Best Director: McQueen, Daniels Edge towards Making History
Posted on Sep 9 2013 – 11:25am by Sasha Stone

n 86 years of Oscar history only two African-American directors have ever been nominated for an Oscar — John Singleton and Lee Daniels. It isn’t that the Academy leans towards white American filmmakers to be exclusionary. It’s more a function of the fact that black directors in America, or even white directors making films about black characters, often tackle subjects laden with sensitive topicality that makes them too hot to touch, like Spike Lee. It isn’t easy to make a film that can aggressively address substantial subjects and still cross the black and white divide without doing anything that may seem offensive to either side. Add to that, trying to please the critics (who are 99% white), and making money to boot. It is as though the past, present and future stack up like heavy bricks on the back of every minority filmmaker but especially so with black filmmakers here in America. That there are at least two African-American directors “in the conversation” this year (Daniels and Ryan Coogler) is a impressive miracle in itself. That British-born Steve McQueen has now emerged to lead the field means we could be witnessing history in the making — not just in terms of another nomination, but with a possible milestone win as well.

Make no mistake about it, winning an Oscar won’t make Steve McQueen or 12 Years a Slave look better than they already do. It would make the Academy and Hollywood look better. No one will be able to say McQueen won BECAUSE he was black. No one will be able to say the film doesn’t deserve it.

But it’s too early to count those chickens, and indeed, McQueen is likely to bristle at the notion of himself being categorized this way. I suspect that’s because he isn’t African American, he’s British. Here in America things are a little different with regard to race. Despite what many Republicans keep denying, there is still a big problem here. 12 Years a Slave roars forth to confront the issue the head-on, and in the eye of the hurricane will be Mr. McQueen.

If I had to rank the directors most likely at this moment in time, I think I would want to avoid guessing the placement of films I haven’t yet seen. With that restriction in mind, the list would like this:

1. Steve McQueen, 12 Years a Slave
2. Alexander Payne, Nebraska
3. Alfonso Cuaron, Gravity
4. Paul Greengrass, Captain Phillips
5. Lee Daniels, The Butler
6. The Coens, Inside Llewyn Davis
7. Woody Allen, Blue Jasmine
8. Ryan Coogler, Fruitvale Station
9. Jason Reitman, Labor Day
10. JC Chandor, All is Lost

TIFF 2013: ’12 Years a Slave’ an extraordinary achievement
on September 10, 2013 at 5:08 PM, updated September 10, 2013 at 5:22 PM

Brad Pitt could finally be getting his Oscar. But it won’t be for killing zombies in “World War Z.”

However, his company, Plan B Entertainment, helped produce “12 Years a Slave.” And while it’s premature to be calling any Academy Award results, it’s not too early to call this the best film I’ve seen or may see at this year’s Toronto Film Festival — and a sure Oscar nominee for best picture.

Based on a true slave narrative, it’s the story of Solomon Northup, a free black man and wealthy landowner from Syracuse, New York who, in 1841, woke up from a drunken night out with acquaintances to find himself in chains, bound for the South.

Had he been a white man kidnapped to labor on some merchant vessel, we would have said he’d been shanghaied — but instead, he was a black man, bound for a Southern plantation and probable death.

How he survived to write his story is the heart of “12 Years a Slave.”

The film is directed by Steve McQueen, the British director who is, by this point, probably very tired of explaining no, he is not that Steve McQueen. And like his earlier films — “Hunger,” “Shame” — it’s an unblinking, uncompromising work that can be hard to watch.

Not in the way that Quentin Tarantino’s gleefully exploitive B-movie “Django Unchained” was, though. There is blood and gore in this film, yes, and rage and a hope for justice, too. But this is not a revenge fantasy.
This is a story of life and love and faith — both twisted (the slavemasters here are fond of quoting the Bible, to suit their purposes) and pure (only by refusing to submit to despair, it suggests, can anyone survive).
As always, McQueen — who began as a visual artist — is in precise control of every kind of image.
he literal pictures are intense, and agonizing. In one scene, Northup is nearly lynched — until an overseer decides he is too valuable a piece of property to destroy. So he’s left dangling, half-choking, his toes just barely supporting his weight — and the camera simply watches as everyone else, black and white, goes about their business.

The metaphoric pictures, though, are just as strong. On the boat that takes Northup to Louisiana, the paddlewheel beats at the water like clubs. The furnace blazes like the pit of hell.

The script by John Ridley nicely preserves the ornate language of the period, and the film boasts a fine performance by Chiwetel Ejiofor, striking ones by Michael Fassbender and Benedict Cumberbatch as two plantation owners, and Lupita Nyong’o as an abused slave. It’s a terrific movie, and an extraordinarily gripping drama.

At the screening I went to, the line was literally around the block at 7:30 in the morning; word had already gotten out about just how powerful this film was. That word is only going to continue to spread when the film opens next month — and people learn the story of the slave who held on to his freedom by clinging so fiercely to his humanity.

Han & Lando continue to tour the galaxy hand-in-hand, while Luke & Leia follow closely behind holding hands with Chewbacca! Hahaha!

Just kidding Ange! You look great – glad to see you out and about. And thanks for all the awesome pics of the kids!

NO thing is if you are a true MOVIE STAR you don’t need articles written to tell the world that you are. It would be a given. No one would question it. This is just her PR guy laying the work before she goes to the closing of TIFF.. You didn’t read articles like that about Sandra, or Julia, or Nicole or any other woman at TIFF. Because nobody questions that these women are stars.

So once again the Hags show how the public has to be told something they don’t believe.

@Some Bunny: If you look at the few “articles” Scott Mendelson has written for Forbes, he actually comments on his OWN frigging articles. He also argues with anyone that post an opinion different from his own. This is how low Ticky is, hiring hacks to write flattering articles about her. Ticky is scrapping the bottom of the barrel now.

Thank you so much for all these reviews. TYAS is going to slay during awards season. I have yet to read a negative review for this film. The only films left to see are American Hustle, Wolf of WallStreet, and Foxcatcher. If these movies don’t live up to their hype I think the Oscar goes to TYAS. August Osage did not live up to its hype.

My fav part from the film stage review

” It’s rare to say a movie has no false notes, but such is the case with 12 Years a Slave, a film that, days later, may still leave viewers shaking. Here is the system, in all its awful”

I think 12YAS will clean up at the SAGs, CCAs and GGs. The Oscars though? That’s going to be interesting. Will the old, white, fuddy duddy senior citizens that dominate the membership vote for a film that’s not only graphically violent but shows America at its worst as opposed to a feel-good, ain’t America great film like Argo? Will they be able to look at the history of their own ancestors and see the wrongs that were done to black people through slavery? How deeply are these people REALLY passionate about good film? Will they let the art of the film overcome their bigotry? It’s either going to walk away with every award it’s nominated for or it’s going to get a smattering of minor awards and a goose egg for major awards. They voted for Slumdog Millionaire…but the unwashed Indian masses aren’t their great-great-grandparents and it’s not their history. Hollywood is seen as being very liberal but in reality it has an underbelly of bigoted and small-minded just like the rest of the country\world.

@well: Vespa- that’s funny. Of course, old manny is desperate enough to try it, but she’d probably fall off trying to cut off school buses like fishy. Fishy is getting roasted for her reckless driving so look for even more PR antics. I liked these 2 posts:

Yeah, it smells off- I recall when this VF versus GP story hit a few months ago that a bunch of people called BS bc she has the same million dollar PR guy as Aniston. To his credit, he stops at nothing to get his people press. If one of his has-beens isn’t getting the attention they CRAVE (& can’t do so it through talent or good art), he will even plant negative stories so they can be later denied- 2 stories for the “price” of one. I usually think that GP is pretty harmless, but, this latest incident shows that her extreme selfishness and sense of entitlement can lead to VERY reckless behavior- she’s gross.

Yes, being at “war” with VF makes her SEEM more “important” and less like a has-been. OF course she thinks her time is more important than the safety of a bus full of children- that is how she rolls.

If TYAS won all of those awards I feel like it can take the Oscars. Can you imagine the backlash? it will be ten times worse than the brokeback mountain one. The newly elected president of AMPAS is an African-American female maybe they will pull a 2002 when Denzel, Halle won and Sidney Poiter got an honorary one because they wanted to make a “statement”. If TYAS keeps the momentum I think it can pull a slum dog millionaire and sweep. Slumdog Millionaire was also distributed by Foxsearchlight so they have experience.

Just saw pics of Julia Roberts on CB. What a hideous dress. I don’t know if it’s from the same designer of Ticky’s flowery dress, but it has the same shape, more fit for a teen than a 44 or + year old woman.

Awww no problem Hun :) The reasons why I’m posting these reviews to showcase JP fans and everyone(especially to the trolls) that this film has attracted and blown away everyone who has seen this incredible film. It shows that no one can ignore how TYAS is effected the critics and moviegoers of how we as a country to better talk and have an continue discussion on race. In our cinema history there no slave film that has a beautiful, heartening, and honest face to face on slavery. We all should be proud of Brad, Plan B, and McQueen for bringing this most important historic story in our american past history and bringing into our attention.
And your right I have never come across or seen any negative review on TYAS, it shows how incredible this historic film will reach into everyone discomfort and reel into everyone’s hearts that will make the viewers to the slavery humbles.
I know that JP fans and I can’t wait to this truly amazing film, I’m trying to prepare emotionally but like others I know I won’t.
I’m just can’t wait to see the rolls literately out pass after TYAS goes into final release for all the world watching. After that TYAS is going to have all positive reviews and then on March 2, we get to see our King and Queen of Hollywood on the red carpet. Brad and Angelina holding hands and admire each other in amazed of each other. On Oscar night will get to see Angie support her husband and see him win his first Oscar.

It’ll be moot because Hyena won’t be contending for Best Actress after all. According to The Gold Derby awards site the Weinsteins have put Meryl back in the Best Actress race and moved Hyena to Supporting. They decided that only Meryl was strong enough to take on Cate Blanchett. DUH. It’s moot though – the Academy’s not going to give Meryl another BA in 2 out of the last 3 years. Hell, she’s been nominated 400 times and only won 3 – and one of those was a supporting win.
Still, you know this has pissed off Hyena. She’s not going to be sashaying through awards season like she’s the bee’s knees – not for a supporting Oscar she won’t and as the guy points out – Okra’s probably got it sewn up and if not it’ll probably be Lupita Nyong’o. Wouldn’t that just chafe Hyena’s ass?
Oscars flip-flop: Meryl Streep returns to lead, Julia Roberts drop to supporting
The Butler, Cate Blanchett, August: Osage County, Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Oscars 2013 Nominations – Best Actress, Oscars 2013 Nominations – Best Supp. Actress
By Tom O’Neil
Sep 09 2013 19:19 Pm
It’s official: The Weinstein Co. has switched the Oscar strategy of the top stars in “August: Osage County.” Meryl Streep will return to the lead race, according to one of the studio’s Oscar campaigners. But here’s the shockeroo: Julia Roberts will drop to supporting,
Back in early August, the studio planned to campaign Streep in the supporting race and put Roberts in lead. Then last week, the studio hinted that Streep might go back up to lead based upon reactions to early screenings of a new, final cut of the film. But there was no hint that Roberts might be shuffled too.
Now it turns out that Roberts will compete against “August: Osage County” costar Margo Martindale, who portrays an award-winning role. The star who performed her character on the Broadway stage (Rondi Reed) won Best Featured (or Supporting) Actress in a Play at the 2008 Tony Awards.
The stars who held the original stage roles played by Streep (Deanna Dunagan) and Roberts (Amy Morton) were nominated by Tony voters in the lead race. Dunagan won.
Now Streep has been advanced by Weinstein Co. as the sole “August” actress competing in the lead race at the Oscars for this reason, according to the rep, “We have to look at the Best Actress race this way: Who’s strong enough to beat Cate Blanchett? It’s Meryl.”
But Roberts may not like too much the idea of being dropped to supporting where she must compete against Oprah Winfrey (“The Butler”), who — let’s face it — probably has that Oscar in the bag already.

Your right about that, TYAS is living up to their hype and I haven’t seen any other film compared to TYAS emotional driven, heart grabbing that it will reach through audience and the critics. I don’t know if you seen the American Hustle trailer, but when I watched it seemed pretty ordinary compare to TYAS, American Hustle doesn’t seem to me an Oscar winning picture. I just don’t see it. And I don’t get the hype of David O. Russel, I would say he’s a okay director.
To me TYAS is the only memorable film through Oscars. And I do believe that it will mostly sweep the awards seasons including the Oscars. It just too powerful as a film.

Captain Phillips with Tom Hanks is the new Argo, Gravity is the new The Artist and The Butler is the new King’s Speech. The Hurt Locker I think did break the mold of what normally wins an Oscar. Let’s hope TYAS can do the same.
BTW has anyone seen The Butler? Is Oprah really that good.

@Passing Through: I believe they put Meryl back in the BA category because the film isn’t receiving the love that they thought it would. Of course there are some that love it, but some have been meh about it. One said if they had a category for how much and how loud a cast screams during a film, OC would have a lock on that Oscar for sure.

I just came across this piece from Roger Friedman from the Derailed premiere. Lenny is such a lying piece of $hit:
Aniston’s Star Shines With and Without Pitt

~~~Tuesday, November 01, 2005
By Roger Friedman
~~~Jennifer Aniston Switches to Plan B With Brad Pitt-Lie Number One.~~~

Jennifer Aniston is still in business with Brad Pitt, post-divorce. Their Plan B movie production company, she told me on Sunday night, is full steam ahead.-BULLSHIT

She told me this at restaurant Compass, over a din and a cacophony, which means it was pretty loud and crowded for the premiere of her new thriller, “Derailed.”

The whole time we spoke, she held my hand. I mean, clutched it. I reminded her we’d spoken last at the premiere of Pitt’s movie “Troy” on May 10, 2004.

Aniston probably knew then that there was trouble in her marriage, but had done “the right thing” by helping to launch “Troy” without scandal (too bad it didn’t work, but that’s another story).

~~~Her marriage was toast by the time Troy premiered. So, her claims that she was blindsided.-BULL$HIT! LMAO!
So what’s she doing? “I don’t know yet. I still have Plan B, our production company. It’s still the same people — me, Brad [Pitt] and Brad [Grey]. Nothing’s changed. Everyone’s getting along.” What? Hello? OK.-EXACTLY
~~~This is the press release from Brad Grey and Brad:

Brad Pitt decided to move Plan B film production company from Warners Bros to Paramount Pictures, after Pitt’s former manager Brad Grey was named chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures.

Grey, who has also produced a number of TV series, said: “It’s been no secret that I’ve wanted Plan B to have a home at Paramount. It’s especially gratifying to be bringing Brad and my old friends and colleagues from Plan B over as one of our first major production deals for the studio.”

No mention of Lenny. LMAO!

“Having great respect for Brad’s vision, we’re excited for this opportunity to continue building our company in partnership with him and his team at Paramount,” said Pitt.~~~

~~~~Nothings changed? Really? Brad Grey sold his shares of Plan B to Brad and Dede. You got the boot and so did your friend Kristin H. and Plan B moved to Paramount. Everyone’s getting along? Really? LMAO! That’s why none of the movies that went with Plan B with you attached got made. If that’s getting along, I’d hate to see what it was like when you weren’t. Remember, Brad and Angelina were pregnant at this time. No one knew. Ummm, yeah, Lenny, whatever.~~~
There are lots of ideas on the board, too: for Aniston to possibly portray Marianne Pearl, widow of murdered Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, for example. She might also play writer Jeannette Walls in an adaptation of her memoir about being the daughter of a homeless woman.
~~~Oh, she was still trying to pretend that she had a shot at playing MP in AMH? Ummm, Brad made it perfectly clear when they were still married, it wasn’t going to happen. And guess what? It didn’t. It went to Angelina because MP wanted her to play her and so did Brad.~~~

As PT always says, if her lips are moving, she’s lying. ROTFLMAO!

@Passing Through:
Why? Because Huvsy’s lacky at Forbes had decreed it? BBBWWWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

LOL, PT, worth reposting. Nicole Kidman is box office poison, but she keeps getting quality work, because she is talented. Ticky has to strip or fellate a banana at the age of 44 to be able to be in a B romcom.

#156 @Passing Through:

And Huvane is Lenny’s b!tch. Poor thing, word got out from TIFF that her movie that they’re trying to get a distributor for is whiffing it. As in, there’s a whiff in the air of suckage.

No! No! Brad’s movie is getting rave reviews. He’s the producer. He’s the reason it got made. Everyone is very grateful for that.

Sandra’s movie is getting raves. No! No! No!

No one has to write articles about Brad and Sandra being movie stars. No one has to write articles about Angelina being a movie star.

But, Lenny, dammit! Let’s make sure people know because if Huvane doesn’t tell them, then no one will agree. LOL.

Oh and let’s talk up the fact that she’s got a really hard scene in this movie. Ya know. Acting. And she still won’t go all the way with it. Cause, ya know, she’ll talk about it like she did and there will be no follow through. Where’s her Squirt?

A-list Star at 45 years old @ 09/10/2013 at 10:20 pm

Don´t make me laught, Anuston is not a Star. She is riding the wave of Brad Pitt divorce until now. That Blog-article was payed and the author is not a journalist.

But the biggest evidence and true about Anuston is that she can´t be named a A-list Star with 45 years old. A Star, a true A-list Star appear when she begin in the movies, with 20 years old.

A Star like Angie, Sandra B., Merlin S, and now Jennifer Lawrence are named A-list stars when they are young and her talent was visible. Not when they are old and obsolete like Anuston with 44. it´s ridiculous and stupid.

Anuston can have all the box office success but never will be a mega-star. She can not make the time goes back. Her age tell the story of a girl that spend more than 20 years in the movies and don´t give until now any relevant interpretation in a movie role. It´s with 45 that she will make me cry in a dramatic movie ??? Or she will be the next “Lara Croft” ??? Or maybe she will do the next Bond,,, sorry…. the next “Salt” ?

Please give me a break. There are some people trying to manipulated the public opinion. it´s clear like water.

The sad thing about Anuston is that she will keep riding the wave of Brad and Angie. It´s incredible. The PR of Anuston keep the connection running crazy. i´m tired of Anuston and friends trying to put Anuston in the same level as Angie.

Angie can not be compared with no one and less with Anussston. Angie is a precious and rare talent that we have the lucky to see and lived in the same time.

Angie have make and will do history and it will be remember forever in this world History. In the movies and in the social and political history of the world.

Didn’t the fatfcks claim Angie isn’t doing anything in Australia
First Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie touched down in Tamworth, then she headed to Werris Creek to scout for potential movie locations.

See your ad here
She was happy to smile and wave at interested locals, saying she it was “wonderful to be in Werris Creek”.

The gong-winning actress arrived on a commercial flight in the country music capital on Wednesday morning before being driven straight to Werris Creek.

Jolie is in Australia to make her second feature film as a director – Unbroken.

It is understood production will soon move from Fox Studios to Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast.

But in between she stopped in to check out the architecture of a number of Werris Creek locations which are understood to be similar to that of the English village where her new World War II epic is set.

Speaking of magazine biitches – someone earlier today or last night asked me what I thought about the Putrid\Vanity Fair brouhaha and I forgot to reply. I’ve been LMAO. Huvsy cannot possibly be a happy camper. He can’t get Ticky any good mag covers anymore and here’s Putrid telling people not to cooperate with VF ever again? Ouch. Talk about undermining Huvsy’s clout. I also laughed at the publicist who was all snippy about stars don’t need VF anymore and VF was conduction witch hunts, blah, blah, blah. Well, they’re the freaking MEDIA…that’s what they’re SUPPOSED to do. Publicists don’t have a problem with VF or any other magazine as long as they’re printing what they’re told to print without comment or question. See: People.
Publicist use magazines to push their agenda or their version of a story that they want the public to believe. They’re not interested in the truth any more than they claim the media is. Putrid only has a problem with VF doing a story on her because she knows it’s NOT going to be flattering, but she had no problem whatsoever in doing interviews with other mags that only do fluff pieces or print what Huvsy tells them to. She’s a great big biitch and a snob and everybody in HW knows it, but Putrid doesn’t want the MVM finding out or else it’ll affect sales of her cookbooks and hits at her website. It’s so funny because VF did that hit piece on Brad and what did Brad do? Did he send around emails asking the Par execs and Marc Forster not to talk to them? Hell, no. He couldn’t be bothered. Instead he declined to speak with them and went right on working on WWZ as if they didn’t exist. It was no skin off his nose. He believed in his movie and took it straight to the people. He won and VF looks like a bunch of idiots. Millions of people saw WWZ. VF circ number is roughly 1,200,000 copies a month. I don’t know how many copies the June issue sold but even it it sold 1,500,000 (plus subscriptions) – so what? There are nearly 200,000,000 adults in this country. That means 1 in 133,333,333 people bought or subscribe to the mag. At an avg ticket price of $12.50 with a BO total just over $200MIL it would mean 16,000,000 people saw the movie. Brad 1, VF 0. So, WTF is Putrid scared of? Even with a ton of publicity the VF issue on her is only going to reach about 1.2MIL people and it’s not like she’s selling $533MIL worth of books or getting 533,000,000 hits at Goop every month.
Anyway…I found it hilarious that Putrid is telling her friends not to cooperate with VF when a lot of those same friends would kill to be the VF cover story themselves. Kate Hudson can barely even book that Women’s World Weekly mag thing that sits at the check-out stand with the gossip rags that’s always featuring some chick who just lost 200 pounds with some strange new diet technique. She’d rat Putrid out in a heartbeat. And give her enough booze and weed and Cam Diaz probably would, too.

I’m just cautious when it comes to the Academy. There are too many people with too many agendas and a lot of back-room deals and Harvey blackmailing people. Plus, it’s a long ways off – especially this year. Final ballots are usually due in the middle of January. This year it’s the end of Feb due to the Winter Olys. That’s an extra month for Harvey to work his evil…

I don’t know how much the screenplay differs from the play’s script but on Broadway the actresses were considered co-leads and both wer nommed in the Lead Actress category. But, it’s the same thing every year. Someone is always put in the lesser category because they think it’ll give them a better chance of winning. Or, like Kate Winslet in 2009 – so she wouldn’t cancel herself out and the Oscar go to someone else. Remember when they tried to put her in the Supporting category for The Reader and the Academy ignored it and nommed her for Best Actress, which cancelled out her performance in that flick with Leo? So she only ended up with 1 Oscar nom instead of 2.

LOL. I haven’t seen the reviews and haven’t been paying attention to A:OC. I just figured if Hyena was in it she was going to suck the talent right out of Meryl. I guess this means Porgie’s down to 1 film for 2013 Oscar glory. I hope The Monuments Men sucks as well. It’s got that The Good German\The American smell about it (Guess Cate didn’t learn anything the first time. I hope this doesn’t put a dent in her BA chances). Porgie & Heslov wrote it. They’re hit-and-miss at writing – mostly miss. Remember when he re-wrote Leatherheads, slapped his name on it with the other 2 writers? He fought with the writers guild about his credit, got it..then Leatherheads sucked and the test audiences loathed it. Just before it came out he took his name off the screenplay. THAT’s good old Porgie for ya. Won’t claim his caca but if it’s half-way decent it’s all because of him.
OK…just because I know this will annoy BBOQ…I’m going to go ahead and predict the BO for TMM right now – it opens on Wed Dec 18, 5 days after part 2 of The Hobbit and 2 days before the Anchorman sequel (they moved it up to Wed for that reason): 5-day opening total – $14.5MIL, total $47.6MIL. As the opening draws closer and I see the reviews and forecasts I’ll adjust my numbers…but I’m not really expecting too much at the BO for this. Probably not enough explosions…

Wonderbust @ 09/10/2013 at 11:23 pm

Hmm interesting article for. Last year about how people go to the governors awards to help secure a nomination.
Now, virtually every studio and distributor pays big bucks to the Academy to buy a table or tables at the Governors Awards, which they can then fill with Oscar hopefuls from their films, along with publicists (to make sure that they are introduced to voters during the cocktail hour that precedes the show and periodic lulls in the action during the show) and sometimes, in full disclosure, lucky journalists (thank you for my seat this year, DreamWorks Animation).
In other words, it’s not a coincidence that a ton of people vying for Oscar nominations this awards season showed up at this year’s Governors Awards — certainly more than ever before. (Well, it is something of a coincidence in a few cases, such as Kathryn Bigelow and Tom Hanks, who probably would have been there anyway since they serve on the Academy’s Board of Governors, and Steven Spielberg, who was asked to sit at the table of honoree Jeffrey Katzenberg.) As you can see from a list that I put together of the folks that I spotted during the ceremony, virtually every major Oscar contender was represented.

I am LMAO at how loons are getting ahead of themselves about the possible nominations for TYAS, but even more ridiculous is their claim about the drug addict being the one who made it all possible. Ahahaha… it’s so funny that out of 7 -SEVEN!- listed producers, Pitty is already paying his PR team to spread stories about him being the mastermind. ROTFLMAO!

Poor loons are the only ones who have bought into Pothead’s bullshiz about how the whole cast and crew should be bowing down to him for making this movie happen. Ahahaha, do loons forget that every owner of a book’s movie rights can make the same claim!?

It’s a pitty (no pun intended) that it’s so early in the year for this kind of buzz. The movie’s interest, as it happens in many cases, might peak too early in the campaign, especially when other award-hopeful movies have yet to come out.

One thing is clear, Pothead is desperate for this award and he is once again trying to take credit away from the real talent he associated himself to, such as McQueen, Fassy and Chewy, whom I really hope get some recognition for their efforts. If he wants an Oscar this badly, perhaps he could come up with a cancer-scare sob story, chop off his balls and hope for the voters’ sympathy. It’s not like he has any use for them any more, and hey, it worked for his mistress! :)

I remember that article. She lied to Friedman’s face…even as she clutched his hand. Brad Grey had already sold Brad his shares back in April when he took the Par job. Producer Chick had already been fired in August. Brad had already tendered an offer to buy out Ticky’s “equity” stake. Ticky also admitted in another interview around the same time that she didn’t have anything cooking with Plan B since the move to Par because all projects were on a temporary hold (while Brad got rid of her ass). Friedman was an idiot for not pointing out all of those things but everyone was giving Ticky a pass on all her lying because she was so “fragile” from the dumping, so he let it go. Back then Friedman was Team Ticky…then he actually met Angie face-to-face in 2007 at Cannes, she charmed him, he saw how she and Brad were together and since then he’s had nothing but nice things to say about them. Meanwhile, he hardly ever writes anything about Ticky because she’s hardly ever has any positive career news to write about. I think the last thing I read that he wrote about her was his review of What-a-bust, which he panned, and recommended to Ticky that if this crap was the best her agent could get her then she needed to find a new agent…and I’m sure he knows Kevin Huvane is her agent and if Kevin Huvane can’t get her better movies there are damned few others who could – and they wouldn’t want Ticky as a client because they’d never get a dime because nobody will hire her for better movies. Funny how shite is cyclical, ain’t it?

Tampon, you better to prepare tons of meds because you are going to need them during the awards season. Lol

“Leaking” the info about the rape scene is this years “I’m nekkid in this movie…only…not really…” I’m sure when the reviews come out some critics will point out she did a similar scene in Derailed, so it’s not new territory for her…and neither is sucking at it.

@Passing Through: Exactly what I thought about Julia Roberts in that dress, it made her legs look good, the dress, itself, was awful. I was on RT, and OC (I know it’s real title is August, Osage County),has a rating of only 64%, which shocked me. Ron Howard’s Rush has a 100% rating just like TYAS, but as one critic from TIFF said, it’s like comparing apples and oranges, and I’m a fan of Ron Howard films, but not a fan of that Hemsworth guy. Gravity has a 96% rating, I really thought it would be another 100%.

@Passing Through: But Ticky’s movie is billed as a “comedy”, not too may rape scenes in comedies, they tend to NOT be funny.

I think the ratings on all 3 of those movies will go down as more critics see them. TYAS is going to be divisive in the south for sure. There’ll be negative reviews coming from critics in those states and they’ll be couched as negative based on artistic merit or violence or some such caca as they reload their double-barrel, semi-auto AK-47s. I can’t imagine some of the far right sites will think too highly of it. There’ll be some religious sites like Christian Science Monitor that’ll throw shade on it, too. . The Ron Howard movie – some critics just hate his movies for no apparent reason, so that’ll go down. I think it’s the whole Opie\Richie Cunningham thing. And I can see people have problems with Gravity as well – mainly because it’s Sandra Bullock and she just did a braindead comedy AGAIN this summer.

I don’t remember the timeline, but do you guys think Angelina turned down Gravity because she knew about her breast cancer gene, and that she needed to schedule for the surgery?

LOL. Good point. I doubt Ticky would concede it though. Isn’t it being billed as a “dramedy”? I thought it was. Doesn’t matter…it’s gonna have a hard time finding a distributor. I’m sure it’s already been screened to distributors because it’s showing on the last day and verteran festival goers know that’s a bad day to try to make deals. If there’s no deal announced before the premiere on Sunday then it’ll be a tough deal for CAA & WME to cut. There were 288 films at this year’s festival. I wonder how many of them already had distributors? Even if half of them did – that’s still competing with 144 other films for a few dozen distribution slots.

Some sites said Angie turned down Gravity because of the script. Word was she didn’t think there was enough of an arc character or story from beginning to end. I think it had more to do with the fact that she had just announced plans to make ITLOBAH. It was originally supposed to film in spring 2011 and she was going to be editing her movie. She was also still negotiating for Maleficent and Brad was doing KTS in the Spring of 2011 and WWZ in the summer. Plus I think she just wanted to spend time with the kids and on her humanitarian work because that was all happening around the same time as she became a Special Envoy.

LOL. American Hustle is about ABSCAM not money scams. Thanks…I feel really old now…

Abscam, U.S. scandal resulting from an investigation begun in 1978 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI created a front (Abdul Enterprises, Ltd., hence, Abscam) for its agents, who, posing as associates of an Arab sheik, offered selected public officials money or other considerations in exchange for special favors. The videotaped meetings resulted in the indictments (1980) and convictions of one senator and four congressmen on charges including bribery and conspiracy; another congressman was convicted on lesser charges. waving hi to all the Jolie-Pitt fans from around the world…quick question..besides conflicting work schedules. do you guys think Angie turned down gravity becuz she think it could be in competition w/Tyas? she rather have her husband’s movie get all the accolades it deserve come award season. I can’t wait o see TYAS..note to self…make sure to wear waterproof mascara when going to see Tyas…

Ah oh lol have the stupid JP tvvats learn how to read yet? I did say that I’m hoping for Fassy, Chewy and McQueen to get some recognition during awards season, didn’t I? I also said that Chiwetel especially is overdue for an award. Their involvement with Pothead does not cloud my judgment; as opportunistic as he is, he knows damn well that these people are talented, much more than he has ever been or will ever be.

Loons are the only ones who hate every other an actor and actress on the face of the planet because they’ve deemed them competition to their idols. I don’t go around compiling lists of achievements. Why do loontards assume that everybody else is like that?

I’ll be looking forward to seeing TYAS, especially now that I know that Pothead does not take up too much screentime and was labeled a DOWNSIDE. I’m not the one who’s going to lose sleep over the movie getting nominated for BP, though. If it’s good enough, then it will be recognized somehow. Then again, loons don’t understand how an Oscar campaign works. Not only is it expensive, but it takes good timing too, and getting a head start is seldom a good thing. Wait and see, lunatic JP trolls.

A True Brad and Angie Fan @ 09/11/2013 at 1:06 am

Just saying that American Hustle does’t look interested and why is it released in late December.

@A-lister Aniston:

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I can tell the JP tvvats heads have exploded all over the place over this piece.

It’s exactly what I’ve been saying all along. Aniston is unquestionably bankable, and A lister by this reason. Unlike the Brand, who are A list by association or name recognition, JA’s been making money way before meeting Pothead and still does to this day.

Wait a second though, are loons stupid enough to try to discredit Forbes, on the heels of them naming Twatgelina as a the top earning actress? Do loons dare to question it now, after swearing on it being unbiased and fair?

At the end of 2003, Heroina had nothing, only a string of box office bombs and Razzie nominations. Her public antics with BBT and her own brother had damaged her reputation as an Oscar winner, and not even desperate attempts at fauxmanitarian work were enough to resurrect her career. In every movie she made at the time she would and deny rumors about boning her costars. At the same time, JA was working in movies, and had just been named Forbes’ Most Powerful Celebrity. It only took Heroina 5 years, one broken marriage, a huge media scandal, lots of photo ops and fauxmanitarian work, and six children to get the same kind of recognition JA got. Sad isn’t it? :D

Are loons upset because Aniston is bankable and their idols aren’t? Aww poor things, trying to discredit me is one thing, but to discredit something like Forbes makes you ridiculous, laughable and completely moronic beyond belief. Go cry in the shower idiots!

JJ, can you please get Miley’s picutre off from the top of your front page?

Ⱦamsin, okay, you are right JA is an A lister movie. Now, can be out here? Go find JA thread and post there. You and all your other selves. Okay?

PHOTOS, VIDEO: First Tamworth, then Werris Creek for Angelina Jolie
First Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie touched down in Tamworth, then she headed to Werris Creek to scout for potential movie locations. She was happy to smile and wave at interested locals, saying she it was “wonderful to be in Werris Creek”.
The gong- Oscar winning actress arrived on a commercial flight in the country music capital on Wednesday morning before being driven straight to Werris Creek. Angelina Jolie is in Australia to make her second feature film as a director – Unbroken.
It is understood production will soon move from Fox Studios to Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast. But in between she stopped in to check out the architecture of a number of Werris Creek locations which are understood to be similar to that of the English village where her new World War II epic is set.

Angelina Jolie touches down in Tamworth
By Andrew Hornery Sept. 11, 2013, 3:16 p.m.
Angelina Jolie is one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, but she was just another passenger aboard the small Qantas Dash 8 which touched down in Tamworth on Wednesday morning.
Unlike the Qantas flight from Los Angeles when Jolie and her six children traveled in first class, the Tamworth service is a far less grand affair, in-flight service from the sole flight attendant usually comprising of tea or coffee for the 35 minute flight. Jolie has made the surprise visit to see first hand locations for the World War II drama Unbroken which she is in Australia to direct over the next three months.
The actor left Tamworth Airport with an entourage and has traveled to the small town of Werris Creek, a 30-minute drive away.
Word that the star had arrived in the region traveled fast this morning, with locals reportedly bemused by the sight of Jolie walking down Werris Creek’s small main street.
Local newspaper, The Northern Daily Leader, reported that in between she stopped in to check out the architecture of a number of Werris Creek locations which are understood to be of interest as she prepares to film a World War II epic. The Leader reported Jolie “stopped in on Mark Woolfe and the crew at Creek Meats and spent time checking out an alley nearby which is believed to be of major interest to the filmmaker.”
She briefly checked out a home in Punyarra St, “charming all and sundry when she stopped to hug the kids and pose for photos”.
Jolie and her six children arrived in Sydney last Friday morning and have spent the past few days familiarising themselves with their city, taking in many of its tourist attractions.
Jolie’s partner, Brad Pitt, is expected to arrive in Sydney to join his family in a matter of days.

Angelina Jolie boosts Aussie tourism
By Rashida Yosufzai, AAP September 11, 2013, 4:24 pm
Angelina Jolie is proving to be an unofficial ambassador for Sydney’s family-friendly tourist attractions. The Hollywood star is in town to film Unbroken, which is being shot on the Gold Coast and Sydney. Its production office is at Fox Studios. Since jetting into Sydney on a Qantas commercial flight last week, Jolie has been seen with her six children – Maddox, Shiloh, Pax, Zahara, Vivienne and Knox – visiting Sydney Aquarium, Taronga Zoo and Luna Park.
The actress was snapped taking her brood to yet another Sydney attraction on Tuesday, this time knocking over some pins at Strike Bowling Centre, at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park. Strike Bowling staff say the famous clan walked in without a booking in the “open, free-for-all day”.
“We get lots of (celebrities) into our venues,” a spokeswoman told AAP on Wednesday. “We want to maintain privacy for them.”
Jolie is just one of a number of celebrities who have come to Australia and very publicly taken in the sights. Tourism Australia points to the visits of talk-show queens Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey in 2013 and 2010 respectively.
The tourism body is “delighted” to see Angelina Jolie enjoying Sydney’s attractions and hopes she’ll manage to explore more of the country, Tourism Australia’s managing director, Andrew McEvoy said. “Australia doesn’t always get the attention it deserves globally, so these sort of high-profile visits are really great for us, helping to generate a bit of buzz and attention on the world stage.”
Mr McEvoy said the photographs of Jolie and her family besides iconic Sydney attractions will garner lots of attention from overseas media. “It’s hard to quantify the exact value of what is effectively a working visit. “But I think we can certainly say that, so far, the likes of Taronga Zoo, Luna Park and Sea Life Sydney Aquarium have all provided wonderfully photogenic backdrops for the paparazzi tracking Angelina’s every move, and ensured that Australia and some of our most iconic and popular tourism attractions have received incredible global coverage, free of charge, right across the world.”
It’s not just major city attractions the star has been shining a spotlight on. On Wednesday, Jolie was spotted by locals in regional NSW scouting locations for her flick, according to the Northern Daily Leader. The actress took time out from the location scouting to take snaps with locals from the small town of Werris Creek, southwest of Tamworth.

DROP EVERYTHING! !!! Angelina Jolie Wants YOU in her Movie
11th September 2013

Walking pair-of-lips Angelina Jolie is directing her WW2 drama ‘Unbroken’ in Australia, and wants YOU to be in it! She also wants to be best friends with you and maybe even let you touch Brad Pitt’s face!

Ok, so those last bits might not happen, but a casting call has been made public, which reads: “Angelina Jolie film seeking background extras males 17-50yrs very skinny Caucasian males that can portray a Prisoner of War in a detention camp in World WAR 2. Needs to be up for a haircut and no tattoos would be great. Also needing Japanese males 17-50rs that can portray a solider and be up for a haircut.”
Jolie touched down in Australia on the weekend (sans Brad, who is expected to drop in during breaks in filming action thriller “Fury” in the UK), and work is expected to begin on the film this month at Fox Studios in Sydney and Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast.
Ange has brought her whole brood to Australia, with the Oscar-winner and a bunch of her children enjoying a visit to Sydney Aquarium on Sunday morning.

TIFF Movie Review – 12 Years a Slave (2013)
Wednesday, 11 September 2013

In 1841 New Yorker Solomon Northup was kidnapped and sold into slavery. A talented violinist believes that he has been offered a financially rewarding job only to be sold into slavery; over the span of 12 years he goes through a series of plantation owners until the wrong is rectified. This is the basic storyline for the latest offering from filmmaker Steve McQueen (Shame) which has the straightforward title 12 Years a Slave. Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor) is first shown in captivity trying to write a letter. Flashbacks are incorporated showing him living freely with his family and then the narrative reconnects with the opening sequence in a manner that would please Martin Scorsese (The Departed).
Undoubtedly comparisons will be made between the true life slavery saga and Schindler’s List (1993) though the former is lot more brutal in its depiction of the derogation and violence. The imagery is painterly and sound design is so sharp that one can hear every whiplash as rips through the human skin. Surprises that occur are the clapping of hands by the Negro workers while the foreman John Tibeats (Paul Dano) sings a racist song over a medley of shots, Solomon Northup stumbling upon a hanging, and plantation owner Edwin Epps (Michael Fassbender) dancing across the sleeping quarters of his workers.
Chiwetel Ejiofor (Kinky Boots) carries the narrative weight upon his shoulders and does so with conviction and subtlety. Paul Dano (Prisoners) is excelling in the role of weasel characters much like Edward Norton (Fight Club). Michael Fassbender (Prometheus) embodies a moody psychotic who is unpredictable and volatile. The arrival of Brad Pitt (Se7en) is a critical plot element but his bearded face makes one wonder if he is trying to channel the look of Abraham Lincoln. Paul Giamatti (Sideways) is dependable as a slave dealer. Lupita Nyong’o (Non-Stop) is very posed for a newcomer.
Whites are not caricatures but undone by their own ignorance and purposeful misinterpretation of the Bible to suit the needs of business. Obstacles and hardships are plentiful which makes the protagonist resemble Orpheus who descended into Hades and comes back. There is an painful long shot where Northup is left hanging with a noose around his neck and he slowly makes his way toward the camera. Considering the subject matter it is hard to imagine audience members getting entertained. Perhaps it is more accurate to say emotionally drained as crying was heard during the press screening. 12 Years a Slave will certainly be a major Oscar contender.

BOM Summer winners – WTM / Tossup-WWZ-hard 2 call a win

Jen’s WTM’s is listed under summer winners.

We’re the Millers: Benefiting from good scheduling and a strong premise, road trip comedy We’re the Millers got off to a solid start in early August. The movie then held well thanks to strong word-of-mouth, and ultimately became the highest-grossing movie of August 2013. Through the end of Summer, We’re the Millers had earned $113.2 million, and is on pace to close with over $130 million.

Poor old Goat Man’s WWZzzzz is listed under “toss ups”
World War Z: When word got out that Paramount had decided to reshoot the entire third act of World War Z, the press prematurely wrote the obituary for this already-expensive movie. Audiences didn’t care about the behind-the-scenes drama, though, and the crowd-pleasing zombie flick wound up being the Summer’s only non-franchise title to earn over $200 million at the domestic box office. It also did strong business overseas ($330 million and counting). Still, with the ludicrous production budget (some number well north of $200 million), it’s hard to call this a win.
and don’t forget it’s already been labeled “not a profit engine”

Which make so much sense! I never thought about some of these things, but of course Jolie is going to be freezing all the time with nothing but skin covering her bones. And the last poster: beautifully eloquent post, thank you. Free-fall into weightlessness. For some reason those words gave me a greater sense of what the thrill of anorexia must be like than anything else I’ve ever read. And, I’ve never ever read your theory anywhere else but it makes perfect sense. Pitt obviously wants Jolie to leave. So she is leaving in the only way that she ever will. After what she went through to get him? She’s never going to walk away but she will certainly make him watch her disappear. Everything I’ve ever read about her personality, her neuroses, tells me that is exactly how she will react to this man she trapped, but who wants nothing to do with her. PIAT, but he will pay.

And the annoying loons saying “how do you know he taunted her? huh? huh? how do you know?” Loons are apparently the only ones who are allowed to make assumptions (and even out and out lies).

So, Loons, listen to me and hear my words: both Gywneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston have said that Pitt hounded them into losing weight, taunting them endlessly, pulling Paltrow close for a romantic moment only to whisper in her ear as he grabbed her (nonexistent) thighs, “you need to lose this.” Or when he ate the dinner that Jennifer ordered at a restaurant because he said she needed to lose weight. These women are half the size of Jolie. Literally. Which is not to say Jolie needed to lose weight at the time of MAMS. She didn’t. But you bet, Pitt thought she did. You betcha. She was, by far, the largest woman he had ever been with, and you could tell by her abrupt and continuing weight loss, that he did NOT like that at all. And let’s not even go there with the drugs. I thought the OP was being very sweet about something that everybody knows.

Conversations like these are why this board is simply the best out there for any real conversation about the brand.

Good Morning my dearest sister Rose
How are you? Another beautiful morning isn’t it, we have been blessed with more news in regards to Angies Unbroken, which is picking up pace, more Critical acclaim being given to Brads TYAS life if is good what more can we ask for. The Jolie Pitt children are all happy, learning new cultures, seeing new places and meeting new people and all the while having a blast of a time at it, no wonder they have the biggest smiles on their faces. Angie god bless her is looking great in her director mode love that, she has an Oscar winning & nominated team around her beck n call as a Double Oscar Winner herself she into doing bad is she Rose.
On a sad note its Another sad day for Ticky still unemployed despite the fact gyrating on a greasy strippers pole and putting out stories via her PR that she has done her 2nd rape scene just to entice & beg her 2 fans to come out and see her lame movie that critics are already pouring cold water over no wonder Elmore clocked his clogs when he saw her acting it can stop any ones heart. Still 9 month passed and still No ring designer has come forward in owning up to designing the zirconium engagement ring. You know the ring her beloved fiancée Squiggy gave her, Squiggy in the meanwhile is still unemployed still proud to be flaunting 2 size too small T-***** brandishing guns, still living on the leftovers he gets from Ticky in his bank account, life could have been worse cant get any worse can it. No wonder her trolls are killing themselves in spamming the threads with hate.
They are trying their headrest to draw the attention away from Tickys miserable life so that people don’t make fun of the Z lister but what can we say when you back a lame TV actress who still cant make it on the top even after 15 years in the business and a women that ends up paying for the services of a guy who leeched on his last girlfriends earning for past 14 years, the guy who will always remain a bit part player & full time unemployed. No wonder even Tickys friends don’t want to spend time with her, they all want to be with Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie want to know what they read, what they talk about, want to be in their company rather than spend time with Ticky lol Rose dint you say on of her very on JENHAG said this on The View on national TV of all places lol.
no wonder trolls are in PAIN

@Passing Through: @ 09/10/2013 at 11:34 pm

Didn’t she (Jenny Poo) say that she has never gotten a role she auditioned for, and that she is not offered those scripts (quality) but her hens never hear that. Like she said she can’t direct because her handlers want her to do more Romcoms. NOW WHAT A LISTER HAS HER HANDLERS controlling her decision. That sounds like what an up and comer would have said to them, Can you imagine anyone telling Brad or Angie what they can or can’t do. HELL no. They are A listers.

Everyone knows this. Have you ever heard an actor say they want to be like her.. have her career. If as the hens say she is so bankable, why is it that she is not a role model.

When you mentioned Roger Friedman I remember him at the WWZ premier in London.. he was standing at the doorway waiting for Angie to walk by like a little puppy dog. And he gushed over them big time. I think the reason Aniston has her “friends” do interviews is well because she can’t answer the hard questions. She has not done a big magazine interview I think since Vogue IIRC.. (is that the Angie is uncool) and she accused them of being a tabloid because they quoted her accurately. Quoted her after she called the guy back a week later. I think everyone saw what a liar she is. How she will mouth off the lie and cover her tracks. Now she is interviewed by friends or co-stars. Nothing of substance.. just like her films.

OK.. I have given the hag queen too many words.

@Phool.: Phool, we will talk this evening, hopefully. It was Aisha Tyler from “TheTalk” who had worked with Ticky on Friends. She was on HLN, Show Biz Tonight, when the host AJ Hammer asked her who she would like to spend time with for a weekend. She named dropped Brad, Angelina and their Kids. She may be a Ticky friend but when asked on tv she confessed she believed BA are cool and fun to be around. Phool, will have to go to the dentist then have so many things to do today. Hopefully will be able to catch you later.

So cute. :)

Thanks for new pics.

@thinker: I think you’re misinterpreting how that was said. You obviously believe they suggesting she’s flashing it for show when I think they’re simply saying she’s got a new tat and its visible. Stop being so sensitive ppl. I bet Angelina would be a tad embarrassed by what we choose to give energy to with so much horrid other issues going on in the world.

Good morning J-P fans.
@ Rose, in two hours 11 years ago all the terror began in NYC, and we’re still dealing with it.

@Susan: good morning friend. I remember everything about that day as if it was yesterday. It was a morning like this morning, bright, sunny and clear. I say a prayer for those who passed and their families and friends. I’m outta here right now.

Actor Jack O’Connell – ‘Starred Up’ during the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013.

Published Wednesday, September 11, 2013 7:50AM
TORONTO — Jack O’Connell may be about to embark on a project with Angelina Jolie, but the British actor’s main concern at the moment is getting the word out about his brutal prison drama “Starred Up.” “I just want the film to do well … I think it (deserves) success. I like to focus on job by job, and thankfully I’m not a complete novice anymore,” the modest 23-year-old said this week during an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Novice, indeed. O’Connell is receiving raves for his breakout performance as Eric, a troubled teen who is moved to an adult jail (or “starred up,” in prison lingo) only to learn that his father is in the same facility.
The film has already caught the attention of Angelina Jolie, who’s tapped O’Connell to star in her upcoming directorial project “Unbroken,” about long-distance runner and Second World War hero Louis Zamperini. In “Starred Up,” O’Connell is unforgettable as Eric, who bloodies fellow prisoners at the drop of a hat and is stubbornly reluctant to accept the help of a counsellor played by Rupert Friend. The film opens with a remarkable sequence in which the new inmate is stripped and searched. Director David Mackenzie says landing permission to shoot at a former prison in Belfast was key to achieving the claustrophobic feel of “Starred Up.”
“The weight of the location, the stone, the metal, just the atmosphere was just everywhere around us. It unified us. We all went on the same journey together because of that location. We inhabited it.” The film is filled with simmering tension, punctuated by violence. Mackenzie said he let O’Connell “go as far as he possibly could,” encouraging all of his actors to let scenes unfold organically.
“In all of my films I’m trying to create an environment where possibilities are open to allow the material to come to life within the moment. So … we have a script, but also we have room to watch what happens when all these ingredients come together,” he said. “And I like to be open to the idea of things springing out of that.” “Starred Up” has already screened at the Telluride Film Festival, where some critics complained they had trouble understanding the prison slang and thick accents.
But Mackenzie said the dialogue in the script by Jonathan Asser — himself a former prison counsellor — was part of what attracted him to the project in the first place. “When I first read the script I didn’t understand half of it and I was drawn to it almost for that reason,” he said. “It’s like reading ‘Clockwork Orange.’ It’s my country’s language, but it’s a version of it that I don’t follow.”
For his part, O’Connell says he had an “instinctive understanding” of the film’s world because he comes from a “not particularly privileged background.” And although he’s flattered by the festival kudos, he says he just wants to continue to give good performances. Said the humble actor: “I’m looking forward to (going into) my next role with a bit more experience. … I just want to work and be successful at it and hopefully have people appreciate my work.” The Toronto International Film Festival runs through Sunday.

Tahari’s clothes are ‘real’
Wednesday, 11 September 2013

Elie Tahari is celebrating 40 years in fashion, with Angelina Jolie being his favourite style moment. Elie Tahari makes his clothes for real women.
The Israeli-American designer has just celebrated 40 years in the fashion industry. To mark the special occasion, his home city honoured him with a day dedicated to the designer.
New York’s Mayor Bloomberg declared that September 4 is Elie Tahari day. “Elie Tahari Day by far has been the most memorable moment of my career. I was so humbled and honoured to be recognised by the City of New York, a city that has inspired me endlessly since I arrived over 40 years ago.
“I design classic silhouettes but still with a modern edge. My clothes are made for real women not just the size zero supermodels; I want women to feel beautiful every time they wear my clothes,” he told StyleCaster. Elie has dressed some of the world’s most famous women, but there’s one that sticks out for him.
Having Angelina Jolie wearing his designs was a highlight for him.
“My favourite celebrity style moment is when Angelina Jolie wore one of my blouses to her movie premiere. I think she is a beautiful woman and looks great in my designs. I am also a big fan of Emmy Rossum,” he confessed.
He’s just about to appear on fashion series Project Runway All Stars for the second time, and says working with emerging talent is important to him. “I think it is important for young designers to believe in their vision and talent, if you don’t believe in yourself, no-one else will,” he advised. But away from public duties, Elie admits his style is more lax.
Far from the tailored suits he designs, Elie is most at ease in jeans, but always with a pop of colour. “My personal style is relaxed and comfortable; I usually always wear jeans in my design studio. I am a fan of colour and layer a neon T-shirt underneath my all my button downs,” he said.

Brad Pitt promotes new film
TORONTO – Award winning actor Brad Pitt said on Tuesday he hopes his latest film, 12 Years a Slave, has a moving impact on the audiences that go out and see it.
Pitt is currently at the Toronto International Film Festival, where the film, which is based on the true story of slavery in the Deep South, is picking up glowing reviews.

The actor said he still believes in the power of movies.

“As a fan of film, my earliest recollection was of films and the impact they had on me. This is one of those visual experiences.”

He said he hopes this film has a positive impact.

“Ultimately it’s reminding us of our responsibility to take care of each other.”
12 Years a Slave is based on the true story of Solomon Northup, a free man who was sold into slavery in the late 1800’s.

Malala’s portrait by Jonathan Yeo to be unveiled at National Gallery in London
Wednesday 11th September, 2013

Pakistani education activist and school student Malala Yousafzai’s portrait by Jonathan Yeo will be displayed for the first time at the National Portrait Gallery.

The portrait, which shows Malala doing her homework, will be displayed alongside several previously un-exhibited Yeo portraits of well-known figures, such as Damien Hirst and Kevin Spacey, the BBC reports.

Yeo said it was an honour to paint a portrait of one of the most inspiring figures of today.

He further added that he hoped the painting will reflect the enormous power and wisdom, yet vulnerability and youth at the same time.

Malala was shot in the head on a school bus by Taliban gunmen on her way home from school in October 2012 following her campaign for girls to have the right to attend school.

She was flown to Birmingham for treatment and since then lived in the city.

Yeo first met Malala and her family in April, when she had just started school in the UK and was still recovering from her injuries.

The portrait will be later auctioned for Malala’s charity fund, which campaigns for girls’ rights to education, the report added.

Malala was recently awarded the International Children’s Peace Prize for her noble cause.

@Phool.: Good morning, on the other hand divorce, Laura Dern’s is final, pity Ticky is not married to Squiggs, because Laura likes them married.

Hiding your new hairdo? Brad Pitt lops off his luscious locks for his role in new World War Two film Fury

Brad Pitt has been known to play every kind of character, from a Greek hero to an American outlaw during his 25 year career.

Which is why the 49-year-old is no stranger to changing his model good looks for a role, having just chopped off his luscious blonde locks for his new movie Fury.

The award-winning actor was spotted sitting on top of a US army tank in the British countryside covering his newly cropped locks beneath a baseball cap on Tuesday.

He has been preparing for the role from last week with the extras and production crew, who didn’t seem to be shooting actual scenes as many were sitting on top of the tank were dressed in their own clothes.

Brad, however, looked to be in full costume apart from the cap, in khaki overalls, a dark grey T-shirt and camouflage boots.

With the authentic garb and the new hairdo, which he chopped off on Monday, the Oklahoma-born actor looks to be getting into his role as Wardaddy for the World War 2 Movie.

Brad however, was allowed to actually ride one of the US tanks last Tuesday, and had a look on his face as if all his boyhood dreams had come true, riding around the English countryside.

Sitting atop the menacing machine, Brad could be seen listening intently to his instructor as they drove around a field.

@James fuvcked Angie:
get help, you sick twisted predator, hope fans flag your comments

At jjb it looks Brad’s hair is cut, he is wearing a cap, and when this movie is over and he is off for any period of time, he’ll start growing his hair again, then the bellyaching will start all over.

Brad has cut his hair – halleluja. With that he just took another 10 years of his age – he looks younger than ticky’s gigolo.

What will the haters now say?

LAX-worker @ 09/11/2013 at 10:29 am

Your are an idiot. Angelina did not make deals with the paps. It was the airport security that told the paps that if the paps don’t go beyond certain line they could stay in the area where Angelina and her family were entering. But they went beyond the point where they were supposed to. This happens all the time. It is not just for Angelina, but it is for all celebs. Most of the time, the paps will take a few pictures and then walk away, but when it comes to big celebs, like Angelina, they don’t know when to quit. They just push and push. LAX paps make living off of people like Angie. Go to LAX and look around. It is crazy how the paps run from one celeb to another, like animal. Sure we look at the pictures they take on the net and in the mags. That is why they do what they do. So we the public is a contributing factor in their behavior. But they have no integrity: they are the scum buckets.

were the morons @ 09/11/2013 at 10:31 am

Good morning JP fans. Especially Phool and Rose.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are expecting! Congrats to the fareweather hens… I find it completely amusing how ticky’s recruited hens are all suddenly getting pregnant. I read US weekly, and John and Emily both wanted children for some time. Now we all know their fake friend Ticky had been claiming to want kids for over a decade, and somehow she’s still childless. This proves ticky is full of shite and will never want a child. If she wanted a kid, she would of definitely had one by now. Look at Sandra Bullock- she wasn’t married or seeing anyone, but adopted a precious baby from Africa.

I love Brad and I am very happy to see the long hair gone. I wish he would take off his cap, and then he can take off his shirt.

Man they all look FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to Angelina & Brad.

Waving to all fans from all over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think any of those chicks look that much like Angie. Just because they’re white women with big lips and brown hair doesn’t mean they look like Angie. Most of the resemblance is makeup. What do they look like without all the make up? That’s the real question. There was a YT video someone posted a few months ago with a woman who used a bunch of makeup techniques to make herself look like various celebs – Angie was one of them. Without the makeup I didn’t think she looked like Angie at all.

You know Ticky never finishes sentences. When she said she couldn’t direct and her people were steering her toward romcoms what she really meant is that no one will finance a movie for her to direct any more than they will finance one for her to star in. In fact they won’t finance a movie for her to direct for FEAR that she’ll cast herself in it AFTER they’ve given her the money. She’d ask for the money on the pretext that she won’t be IN the movie but then put herself in it after the financing is secured. Nobody is going to fall for that old trick…and by “old trick” I mean ruse\sham not someone falling for Ticky. I can see how you’d confuse the two though…
Ticky also claimed a few years ago that she knew she only had a few more years of people able to do these kinds of romcoms…yet…here she be. She was being disingenious of course. She’s not doing this crap because her Kevin Huvane and Aleen Kesheshian are steering her in this direction. She’s doing them because it’s all that’s on the table and baby needs a new pair of skinny jeans. And yes, Ticky did say that she’s never gotten a role that she REALLY WANTED after auditioning for it. She said this AFTER getting The Dog Flick – which she had to audition for. How sad is that? She had to audition to co-star with 22 dogs and Owen Wilson and yet the hens site that flick as one of Ticky’s movie triumphs.
Re: Ticky not having done any major mag since calling Vogue a tabloid – Yep.That’s also why she has her friends conduct the interviews now. Much easier to clean up her messes if her friends simply omit her blunders from theh story in the first place.

@the ring:

I know? What happened to the 3 day rule that they used to live by?

St Angie and her almost husband swore they can’t be separated longer than three days, because they miss each other so much… LOLOLOLOL!

Can their loons please explain what happen to that rule? :)

Brad and I had a wonderful time in Toronto, but we’re back in England now as Brad gets back to work on his Fury project. Brad is really getting into character as Wardaddy since he got his buzz cut. Mmmmmmm… I just love to run my fingers through his short, clean hair. Wardaddy is really battle-hardened, but Brad can be pretty hardened too, if you know what I mean.
