'Insidious 2' Exceeds Expectations & Tops Weekend Box Office

Insidious 2, starring Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, has topped this weekend’s box office, opening to an impressive $41 million!

According to Deadline, The Family, starring Robert DeNiro, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Dianna Agron, opened up in second place with a gross of $13.9 million.

Coming in at No. 3 was Vin Diesel‘s Riddick, which made an additional $6.5 million this weekend, for a cumulative total of $30.8 million.

Rounding out the top five were Lee DanielsThe Butler – starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey – and Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman‘s comedy We’re the Millers, which brought in $5.5 million and $5.4 million, respectively.

    We’re the Millers has now grossed $131,602,000 domestic which makes this Jennifer’s 2nd highest grossing film domestic. If it continues grossing like it has been doing, it could out gross Marley and Me and become Jennifer’s highest grossing domestic film ever!
