Carrie Underwood: Emmys 2013 Performance - Watch Now!

Carrie Underwood is stunning during a performance at the 2013 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday (September 22) in Los Angeles.

“The coolest thing about singing “Yesterday” on the #Emmys is the sweet letter I got from @PaulMcCartney giving me his blessing to sing it!” the 30-year-old country singer tweeted after the performance.

A hauntingly beautiful rendition of the song. Carrie did it justice for sure. She did not deviate from the original lyrics and melody and try to put her own spin on it and make it her own as many artists would do. As a matter of fact, not many (if any) would attempt to do a Beatles cover in their concerts much less on National TV. Carrie did a wonderful job and I am sure Sir Paul is pleased just as he was pleased that she was chosen to sing the song with his blessings. She is an amazing vocalist. Kudos to her.

HUGE Carrie Underwood fan – she is vocally talented and classy, but this was not her best performance. If I hadn’t known the song was “Yesterday,” it would have taken me a while to recognize it.
