'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2' Tops Weekend Box Office

Anna Faris‘ animated flick Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 has taken the top slot at this weekend’s box office, earning $35 million this weekend!

Coming in at number two was last weekend’s big smash Prisoners, which took in $11.2 million.

The Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl film Rush, which opened this past Friday, took the number three slot after raking in $11 million.

Battling it out for the fourth and fifth slots were new openers Don Jon, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson, and Baggage Claim, starring Paula Patton, which earned $9.5 million and $9.4 million, respectively.

It was a tough weekend race for all, with four new movies opening in the same weekend!

Rush is a flop. Car racing movies don’t make money. Before anyone mentions the Fast and Furious Franchise, by car racing I mean Formula 1.

Rush was SO GOOD !!! I’m not a fan of F1 but the story is really intense and the actors are fantastic !
