CNN Cancels Hillary Clinton Documentary Amid Political Pressure

The much buzzed about Hillary Clinton documentary being produced by CNN Films has officially been canceled after political pressure from the Republican National Committee, as well as Clinton aides and supporters.

“Charles Ferguson has informed us that he is not moving forward with his documentary about Hillary Clinton,” a spokesperson for CNN Worldwide told Politico. “[W]e won’t seek other partners and are not proceeding with the film.”

“When I approached people for interviews, I discovered that nobody, and I mean nobody, was interested in helping me make this film. Not Democrats, not Republicans – and certainly nobody who works with the Clintons, wants access to the Clintons, or dreams of a position in a Hillary Clinton administration,” filmmaker Charles Ferguson told Huffington Post.

The Republican National Committee had announced that if CNN moved forward with the film, it would ban the network from hosting or sponsoring Republican primary debates.
