Lorde's 'Royals' Dethrones Miley Cyrus on Billboard Hot 100!

Lorde has scored her first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 with her smash hit “Royals” and has knocked Miley Cyrus‘ song “Wrecking Ball” off the top of the chart in the process!

The 16-year-old Kiwi singer is now the youngest solo artist to top the chart since Tiffany did it back in November 1987 with her song “I Think We’re Alone Now.” She is also the most recently born artist to top the Hot 100.

Lorde‘s brand new album Pure Heroine was released this week and we can’t wait to see how it places on the chart. “Royals” is currently atop iTunes Top Singles chart and the album has sat steady at number two on the iTunes Top Albums chart since its release, behind only Justin Timberlake‘s highly anticipated album.
