Lea Michele Opens Up About Cory Monteith: 'There Was No Greater Man'

Lea Michele has broken her silence on the tragic death of her beloved boyfriend Cory Monteith just one day before his Glee tribute episode is set to air.

“For me personally, I’ve lost two people: Cory and Finn,” the 27-year-old Glee star told TV Week Australia. “We had a beautiful memorial for Cory in the auditorium and some of the cast members sang and people spoke about him. It only felt right that we would do the same thing for Finn, so I felt it was very therapeutic.”

“Everyone is asking: ‘Is it hard to do this? Is it hard to be back at work?’, but the truth is it’s no harder at work than it is in life,” Lea continued. “So we might as well all be together as a family supporting each other to get through this together.”

“I woke up every single day feeling like I was in some sort of spell or something, that I was lucky enough to have him in my life,” Lea shared. “There was no greater man than Cory, so for the time we spent together, I consider myself very lucky.”

Be sure to tune into Glee tomorrow night to see the full tribute episode.

It does not matter what he was or what he did. He died, so have some respect, you would all expect the same if the tables were turned. We are all human, we all make mistakes daily. Everyone keeps forgetting that. Very sad that in todays society we still have this disregard for each other.

    ??? Says:

STHU Leeee. You’re using him every day. Let him RIP. He was a heroin JUNKIE who relapsed probably because you drove him to it by never shutting up and giving him a moment’s peace when he finished rehabbing. And now you’re milking his death for all it’s worth. GO AWAY attention who/re!

Some people are really mean and disrespectful ! drug addict or not, he was a talented and generous young man! so let him rest in peace by showing some respect !

    rdh Says:

@Cara: I agree with you! I am truly sorry when anyone passes, but it was his choice…he chose drugs. While his friends and coworkers may miss him, the rest of the world is tired of having an addict idolized.

    Really? Says:

It’s really sad that he passed away at such an early age with such a bright future…but to say that “there was no greater man?” He was a flawed individual who had a serious drug problem. The message/lesson here should be that messing with heroin or other hard drugs usually results in a ruined reputation or tragedy. If it’s heroin against man…heroin is going to take man down everytime.

Just the thought of having Lea as your girlfriend is enough to send most into relapse.

So many disrespectful comments here, dianna agron fans are completely crazy and hurtful and made me annoyed with them because of their behavior.
Spreading hate and lies when someone is saying nice words about someone that passed away.

    ann Says:

She’s obviously in denial about his drug addiction. He cared more about heroin than he did about her.

@go go: What an ass hole comment. maybe he would be a better man if he was sober and making ass hole statements like you?? I prefer a sweet kind person who has substance abuse issues over a sober person who clearly has there head up there ass. …jerk

    @Bree:

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode. I’ve got a box of tissues next to me. Being as much in love with Cory as she was/is, I think it will be a very long time before Lea allows herself to meet someone like Cory was or close to it.

People are more than an addiction. They’re a million things, good and bad.

I lost my Dad 5 years ago to Kidney failure. He WAS a honest hard working man, who took great care of his wife and children. He didn’t need illegal drugs to get through his day’s. To read “there was no greater man than Cory”, I disagree with that statement so much. My Dad was a greater man than Cory.

    Anna Says:

The glee cast and producers should be busing doing anti-drug PSAs not acting like Cory was some kind of hero.
