adorable photo of Angie with Luis Z. and we can see all the love and admiration that Angie have for Luis Z.

One of the many good values and qualities Angie have is the sincere friendship, the admiration and respect she show for almost every person, especially old people. In all the interactions Angie have with old people we see that she is always friendly and lovely and protective about them.

Maybe this deep sense of admiration and respect is more visible in Angie because she grow up without the support of a Grandmother or Grandfather, in her mother side, they all died young and that´s why she developed a special bond and admiration with old people.

Angie have other photos and videos with old people that show that too, i remember one with a old couple in Pakistan, or when she is with Clint or other old actor she always show a deep respect and admiration.

I like that she and Brad have spent some time with him and his family. IIRC they were at his Birthday party this year. He is an amazing man. SO great that the Zamperini family is or will be in Australia for the filming. I think that is such a nice thing. And his son in law I think said that Angie has kept the family involved in all aspects of the film. Talking to them throughout the entire process.

Mr. Z is not a young man. I think it is great to have him be there as long as possible. His mind is intact and the man is as smart as a whistle. Beside he has been gushing about Angie since he met her.. so yes he is on the money.

again that is a beautiful picture.

Angie and Brad beautiful love Says:

Angie is really a super-woman or as Luis Z. said a dynamo-human, no other woman would have the courage to do 10 % of the things Angie do.

It´s incredible that Angie is working in her second movie already, just two years from the first one. And this movie is not a easy, romcom, cheap movie . It´s a very dramatic, difficult and based in real life history and the most important and stressed factor is that Luis Z. is alive and he will see the movie.

Can you imagined, Angie is a fresh new director and she was able to convinced a big HW studio and get the approval to spend millions in a very difficult movie.

Beside all the other hard work Angie do for UN and the personal health problems and the six kids and all the attention she received because she is the most beautiful and powerful woman in the world and her engagement with Brad, she is not slowing down.

Angie is a super-woman because she go after a difficult project and she won the trust of the important people in the studio and she have the confidence and the intelligence and the capacities to start the hard work the fast she can because she want Luis Z. to see it.

We only can hope she will do it, Angie is a amazing and wonderful woman and everything she want to achieved we can say – Done.

I love Angie, she is the only famous person that i truly like and follow, no other person, man or woman, is like her, Angie is not empty head, beside her stunning beauty Angie is unstoppable and unbroken….. she is a Human Dynamo, love this girl….kisss

PS: Brad know very well that Angie is a dynamo… hummmmm hummmm

The hens are giving delusional a bad name. Even the other tabloids don’t think she’s knocked up. In the old days after an US preggers covers all the others would have followed suit. This time nobody did, not even Ticky Central, aka notOK, and they had her pregnant with twins for most of the first 4 months of this year.
On another note about Ticky – I was LMAO at the Jezebel tab report yesterday because for 8 years we’ve been laughing at Ticky’s much altered fugly mugly and Lies & Shite has decided to finally take notice -
Remember…the hens swear Ticky still looks 22. Well, she was 27 or 28 in the comparison photo. They should just be glad that L&S didn’t use one of those high res photos I’m always posting…

Maleficent reshoot doesn’t include Angie, it is very normal for a huge budget movie. Reshoot is only 8 days, not a big deal
You know, even when you break it down Crayola Style to the trolls…they still don’t get it. Angie’s in Oz directing a movie. The reshoots don’t involve her. Ergo, how does that equate to Angie sucks in the movie? Eight days of reshoots on a movie that filmed for over 4 months is nothing – especially when they don’t involve any of the lead actors. It must really suck to never be able to understand anything you read…

  48. 48
    lucy Says:

@Passing Through: How slow do the Trolls have to be not to understand what Disney said, the 8 day reshoot ONLY involves the very beginning of the film, and not Angie. Damn, once they see Angie’s name, they’re off like a shot to write some ridiculous shite, poor things never bother to actually READ the article. lol

You could draw the trolls a diagram and they still wouldn’t get it. If Angie was going to have to do Maleficent reshoots with the movie due in May 2014 she sure a hell wouldn’t NOW be in Oz directing a movie. What part of Angie can’t clone herself and be two places at one time do they not understand? I’d feel sorry for those tricks except…well…they’re not worth wasting my time.

Angie is a woman of substance – she’s beautiful, intelligent and caring, unlike that shallow, vain, fat cow who thinks it’s ok to fly off to Paris to attend fashion shows and gather up as many freebies as she can get her grubby hands on while leaving her newborn with nannies and family members.

I don’t mean to sound callous…actually, I don’t care if I do…but…how the hell much longer are we going to have to see stories about Cory Monteith, Glee and that chick he dated? They’re carrying on like Elvis just bought the farm. They guy OD’ed by his own stupidity. He wasn’t murdered. He wasn’t killed in a tragic car\train\plane accident. He wasn’t the victim of anything but his own demons. He stuck a needle in his arm and drank too much booze. Why do they keep carrying on as if this guy was any more special than any other junkie who’s ever od’ed? Enough already. They’re millking the guy’s death for PR for Glee. It’s not a hot show any more and they need all the ratings help they can get. Just stop acting like it’s anything more than that.

    To: PT Says:

PT or anybody else, what do you think of the article in Deadline Hollywood on finding new bosses for Maniston’s “Horrible bosses 2″ i don’t think the studio wants the old hag back. Initially in Hollywood reporter, when they wrote about doing a sequel they said the 3 (bateman, Sudeikis, Day) already signed would be back but they would be getting new bosses to replace the old ones. With Maniston approaching 50, i tend to think they want to get rid of her and get a younger boss. Despite her small victory lately, i don’t see her coming back as a stripper or her unflattering roles in both the Miller and HB 2. I’m guessing studios will not want her for sequels coz she will be hitting close to 50, hence they can get younger actresses for the raunchy roles she’s been doing

Rebecca Welsh was volunteering in orphanages in Honduras in 2002 when she had an eye-opening encounter with a child living on the streets.
“A 6-year-old little girl stopped me and begged me for water,” she says. “She traveled in a pack of about 10 children and was the youngest in the group.”
She soon found out the children, who couldn’t get shelter in the city’s overflowing orphanages, slept on cardboard boxes at night and dug through trash to find their next meal.
“I just couldn’t believe that was going on and I’d never even heard of it,” she says.

That encounter – and her work at the orphanages where she used art to create a bond with the kids – led to her forming the HALO Foundation (Helping Art Liberate Orphans) in 2005.
The nonprofit has raised more than $2 million to buy food, shelter, education, water and clothes for 3,000 kids in 11 orphanages around the world.
“I really want to give these kids a chance to live a normal life,” says Welsh, 34, who lives in Kansas City, Mo., “and have food and all their basic needs met because they deserve it.”
She auctions off the childrens’ artwork to raise money for the foundation; something that started after Welsh got inundated with artwork the orphans sent her as a thank you.

“I thought the best way to share their work was to showcase it,” she says, “and raise funds that would go back to the children at the same time.”
    It worked.
“The average kid’s piece now sells for around $500,” she says. “That amount provides dinner for an entire orphanage for 50 nights.”
The foundation also operates learning centers in two cities in the United States, including Kansas City, to help foster children and other at-risk youth learn life skills and help them heal through art therapy.

“I think anyone who puts time and energy into improving the lives of kids is wonderful,” says Sister Berta Sailer, co-founder of Operation Breakthrough, which provides child care and other social services for the working poor in Kansas City.

“I think it’s so important the kids everywhere feel valued,” says Sailer, who has worked with Welsh’s foundation on a few projects in Kansas City, “and have their needs met and activities designed for them.”

Kiki, 13, who started coming to Welsh’s Kansas City center in 2010 after two years of being homeless, can attest to that.

“It helped me to become a better leader,” she says, “and to learn how to talk to people in a better way.”

Kiki says her favorite part is Interplay, where kids use dance and song to express their feelings.

“We dance and sing and yell and let out a lot of feelings, like anger,” she says. “I feel relaxed and tired afterward.”

Welsh says she still gets a thrill when she hears a story like this.

“It makes me feel like my purpose in life is fulfilled,” she says. “I know this is what I’m here to do. I feel very blessed.”

Angelina Jolie says Louie Zamperini’s Unbroken story has ‘made me a better person’

It is the beautiful and unlikely friendship that led Angelina Jolie to Australia. The Oscar-winning actor has opened up about her friendship with 96-year-old Louis (Louie) Zamperini, an American hero whose extraordinary story will be told in Jolie’s film Unbroken.

I am a fan who has learned so much. He has made me a better person. Jolie and Zamperini met as neighbours in the Hollywood Hills and despite their near 58-year age gap have since spent many hours together, discussing his life story. Jolie says it is a real privilege to bring his story to screen.”It will be hard to make a film worthy of this great man,” Jolie said, in a statement released by Universal Pictures. “I am deeply honoured to have the chance and will do all I can to bring Louie’s inspiring story to life.”

Zamperini is also clearly pleased to have Jolie on board as the director of the film, which is being made in Australia. “Angelina is a human dynamo, and I know she will tell this story in the right way,” Zamperini said.

It has taken more than 55 years to bring it to screen – Universal Pictures first acquired the rights to Zamperini’s story in 1957. But plans for it to be a Tony Curtis film did not eventuate.Interest in Zamperini’s tale has been renewed in the States in the last three years because of the popular book by author Laura Hillenbrand, titled Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption.

It detailed Zamperini’s life story as a US Olympic athlete in the 1930s, before he enlisted in the air force. He was one of only three survivors of a plane crash that killed eight men in 1943.After floating on a life raft for 47 days, two of the men – including Zamperini – were found and then imprisoned by Japanese forces. (The third survivor died after a month at sea.)

But one of the more extraordinary parts of Zamperini’s story was his forgiveness; he became a deeply religious man, who met with (and forgave) many of the guards who had held him captive.Jolie said his remarkable life has changed her.”Like all readers of Laura’s book and all people who love and admire Louie, I am a fan who has learned so much. He has made me a better person,” Jolie said.

Zamperini said he had been inundated with letters from readers of Hillenbrand’s book but he hopes the film will create an even wider audience.”I’ve received so many letters and talked to so many people who say that Laura’s book has helped them when they were going through hard times,” he said. “I believe the movie will reach even more people with that message.”

Jolie confirmed earlier this month that she will be filming Unbroken in areas of New South Wales and Queensland, after initially travelling here (with her children in tow) to scout possible locations for the movie.Parts of the film will be made in Sydney and north-west NSW, in the Tamworth region.

As a touching tribute to the pair’s friendship, Jolie has revealed she will wear one of Zamperini’s gold running pendants – a prize from his early career as an athlete – on each day of filming.British actor Jack O’Connell, who has starred in TV hit show Skins and just completed filming 300: Rise of an Empire, has been cast as Zamperini in Jolie’s film.Unbroken has already been tentatively scheduled for release by Universal Pictures in the US in December 2014, with the Australian release date expected to be in January 2015.

Enough with the over hype. Let him rest in peace.

Angelina Jolie’s New Movie Spoils Its Own Ending With First-Look Image

Spoiler alert: that is image is what happens at the end of Angelina Jolie’s next movie. OK, so it probably won’t actually be in the movie, but it does reveal the ending of the story at the center of Unbroken, which Angelina Jolie is gearing up to direct this month. Based on the book by Laura Hillenbrand, it tells the story of Louis Zamperini, a runner who competed at the 1936 Olympics (hosted by Hitler!) then enlisted to fight in World War II. When his plane crashed in the Pacific he survived 47 days at sea, then was captured by the Japanese and endured years in a brutal Japanese prison camp. And, as you can see in the photo, he eventually got to meet Angelina Jolie. What a life.
The fact that Zamperini survives is, obviously, not a spoiler– people don’t tend to make biopics about people who endure a ton of hardships during the war and then eventually die. And the fact that Zamperini is still alive has allowed Unbroken’s star, newcomer Jack O’Connell, to get to know the man he’ll be portraying– according to the release that accompanied this photo, O’Connell tried on Zamperini’s World War II bomber jacket, and it was a perfect fit.
O’Connell, who’s already being eyed for some other high-profile roles, will be joined in the film by Domhnall Gleeson and Finn Wittrock as two other POWs. When I talked to Gleeson last week about his role in the upcoming About Time, he told me they were preparing to shoot scenes from later in the film, in which the three soldiers are starving; that had Gleeson on a strict diet that got him to the point where getting to eat a baked potato was an unbelievable luxury. O’Connell and Wittrock are presumably in similar conditions, which means they’ll be thrown into some of the toughest parts of the shoot first thing– but at least they’re that much closer to getting to eat two baked potatoes someday.
Unbroken is currently set for release on Christmas Day next year. You can follow along with the film’s development here. Here’s Hillenbrand’s statement on what inspired her to write the book, which should give you a pretty good idea of the story that Jolie has to work with:

Eight years ago, an old man told me a story that took my breath away. His name was Louie Zamperini, and from the day I first spoke to him, his almost incomprehensibly dramatic life was my obsession.

It was a horse–the subject of my first book, Seabiscuit: An American Legend–who led me to Louie. As I researched the Depression-era racehorse, I kept coming across stories about Louie, a 1930s track star who endured an amazing odyssey in World War II. I knew only a little about him then, but I couldn’t shake him from my mind. After I finished Seabiscuit, I tracked Louie down, called him and asked about his life. For the next hour, he had me transfixed.

Growing up in California in the 1920s, Louie was a hellraiser, stealing everything edible that he could carry, staging elaborate pranks, getting in fistfights, and bedeviling the local police. But as a teenager, he emerged as one of the greatest runners America had ever seen, competing at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, where he put on a sensational performance, crossed paths with Hitler, and stole a German flag right off the Reich Chancellery. He was preparing for the 1940 Olympics, and closing in on the fabled four-minute mile, when World War II began. Louie joined the Army Air Corps, becoming a bombardier. Stationed on Oahu, he survived harrowing combat, including an epic air battle that ended when his plane crash-landed, some six hundred holes in its fuselage and half the crew seriously wounded.

On a May afternoon in 1943, Louie took off on a search mission for a lost plane. Somewhere over the Pacific, the engines on his bomber failed. The plane plummeted into the sea, leaving Louie and two other men stranded on a tiny raft. Drifting for weeks and thousands of miles, they endured starvation and desperate thirst, sharks that leapt aboard the raft, trying to drag them off, a machine-gun attack from a Japanese bomber, and a typhoon with waves some forty feet high. At last, they spotted an island. As they rowed toward it, unbeknownst to them, a Japanese military boat was lurking nearby. Louie’s journey had only just begun.

That first conversation with Louie was a pivot point in my life. Fascinated by his experiences, and the mystery of how a man could overcome so much, I began a seven-year journey through his story. I found it in diaries, letters and unpublished memoirs; in the memories of his family and friends, fellow Olympians, former American airmen and Japanese veterans; in forgotten papers in archives as far-flung as Oslo and Canberra. Along the way, there were staggering surprises, and Louie’s unlikely, inspiring story came alive for me. It is a tale of daring, defiance, persistence, ingenuity, and the ferocious will of a man who refused to be broken.

The culmination of my journey is my new book, Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. I hope you are as spellbound by Louie’s life as I am.

‘Maleficent’: Angelina Jolie Disney movie reshot by ‘Snow White’ director

Maleficent is to be reshot under the direction of John Lee Hancock.

The director recently worked on Snow White and the Huntsman. Bosses at Disney are said to want the first few scenes redone.

The Sleeping Beauty film, starring Angelina Jolie, sees Oscar-winning production designer Robert Stromberg making his directorial debut.

Producer Joe Roth told The Hollywood Reporter: “We asked [John Lee Hancock] to be on set. He’s not directing. He wrote pages and I hired a first-time director and it’s good to have him on set.”

He added: “The movie is gorgeous to look at and the last 75 minutes are really entertaining.”

None of the reshoots will have to involve Jolie, who is currently preparing to start her latest directional project Unbroken in Australia.

The World War II biopic focuses on the life of war hero Louis Zamperini and stars Skins actor Jack O’Connell.

Louis Zamperini gave Angelina Jolie special gift before filming ‘Unbroken’
Angelina Jolie is in Sydney, Australia, to direct “Unbroken,” a film about an Olympic runner turned World War II POW and hero.Louis Zamperini, 96, placed eighth in the 5000m at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. In 1943, as an Army bombardier, he survived 47 days in the Pacific Ocean with two other men after their military plane crashed and then two years at a Japanese POW camp.

Jolie and Zamperini met last winter, and the Olympian gifted Jolie a gold pendant in the shape of a running shoe, “a prize from his running days,” according to People, which reported she planned to wear it during filming.“Angelina is a human dynamo, and I know she will tell this story in the right way,” Zamperini said, according to the magazine.

English actor Jack O’Connell will play Zamperini. The film is scheduled to be released in December 2014.

The film is based off a book written by Laura Hillenbrand, “Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption.” Hillenbrand also wrote “Seabiscuit,” which was made into a film, too.

“Like all readers of Laura’s book and all people who love and admire Louis, I am a fan,” Jolie told People. “It will be hard to make a film worthy of this great man. I am deeply honored to have the chance.”

Fox Searchlight has just released a video chronicling British born Chiwetel Ejiofor‘s journey to becoming Solomon Northup–a free man from Philadelphia who was kidnapped and sold into slavery for 12 years.

The video shows the depth of focus and concentration required to transform into a character, who cycles through deep and complex emotions for nearly every frame of the film.

“I knew it was Chiwetel,” Director Steve McQueen said. “I have been watching him for a long long time and I always felt that he was able to sort of reach that sort of performance and I knew that he could do it.”

Angelina Jolie’s ‘Unbroken’ In Talks With Jordan Patrick Smith

It’s a leap from soap star to POW, but Deadline has learned that Aussie Jordan Patrick Smith is in negotiations to join the cast of the Angelina Jolie directed Unbroken. Based on Laura Hillenbrand’s 2010 bestseller, the pic tells the tale of Olympian and war hero Louis Zamperini who, along with two other crewmen, survived in a raft for 47 days after a near-fatal plane crash in WWII—only to be caught by the Japanese and sent to a POW camp. Jack O’Connell is set to play Zamperini, with Garrett Hedlund and John Magaro also in the film. Recently seen down under for the past three years on Neighbors, Smith would play Cliff, an Australian prisoner who can’t take life in the camp much longer. Set for a Christmas 2014 release, the Jolie-helmed film will be the actor’s feature debut. Smith is repped by Untitled Entertainment and Aran Michael in Australia.

Phool, I looked up the meaning of jealousy and you can see it fits the trolls to a tee.

JEALOUSY: is an motion, and the word typically refers to negative thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear and anxiety over an anticipated loss of something. Jealousy often consists of a combination of emotions such as anger, resentment, inadequacy, helplessness and disgust.

Now Phool, we see all of this jealousy in the trolls comments. They have negative thoughts about Angelina and Brad even to the point of wishing death….
They are insecure just like Ticky who have said insecurity was one of the cause of her failed marriage…
They have fear when they see Angelina is getting lots of adulates and Ticky is stuck in 1998…
They resent Angie because she is so beautiful and Ticky is looking old and unattractive…
They feel inadequate in their personal life and they know Ticky feels inadequate being compared to angle…
They have a feeling of helplessness because they know their is nothing they can say that will turn Angelina’s fans against her…
They are disgusted with themselves because their is nothing in their life that they can compare to the Jolie Pitts and that keeps them in a state of rage and resentment.

Journey of a Remarkable Women Everything Angelina Jolie Did During Her Surgeries
While undergoing “three months of medical procedures” for her preventive double mastectomy and breast reconstruction, Angelina Jolie writes that she “was able to keep this private and carry on with my work.” Yesterday we observed how thorough her privacy was; no media outlet caught wind of anything. Today, we trace what Angelina meant by “carry on with my work” before and after her surgeries on February 16 and April 27.

During that time Angelina visited three continents and four time zones; appeared on two red carpets; launched a school, a jewelry line, and wine label; visited a refugee camp; spoke before world leaders; and hung out with her family. Based on the timelines provided in Angelina’s New York Times op-ed, her doctor’s blog at Pink Lotus Breast Center, and this week’s People magazine cover story, here’s how Angie’s medical treatment lined up with the rest of her busy life. And she hasn’t even had her ovary surgery, yet.

    February 2: Nipple Delay

Angelina’s first operation is her nipple delay, which helps preserve her nipples but results in “some pain and a lot of bruising.” (Read more about the procedure here.) “Her partner was on hand to greet her as soon as she came around from the anaesthetic, as he was during each of the operations,” Dr. Kristi Funk writes.

February 10: Final Pre-Surgery Red Carpet

Jolie presents the Lifetime Achievement Award to Land of Milk and Honey’s director of photographry on behalf of the American Society of Cinematographers. She wears Atelier Versace with Christian Louboutin pumps and “looks stunning.”

February 13 and 14: Family Outings, ‘Romantic Dinner’

Between the nipple delay and double mastectomy, Angelina resumes duties as L.A.’s chicest mom. She takes 8-year-old Zahara and 9-year-old Pax to Urban Outfitters on February 13; Pax sports a chic gold manicure. On Valentine’s Day she and Brad take 4-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox to Los Angeles’s Natural History Museum, where People reports “the kids explore fossils and insects.” (Pictured above outside the museum.) That evening, Brangelina have a “romantic dinner” and “gather all six children together for a family gift exchange” featuring school art projects.

    February 16: Double Mastectomy

Angelina’s eight-hour double mastectomy goes “smoothly.” She awakens with “drain tubes and expanders” in her breasts. “It does feel like a scene out of a science-fiction film,” she writes.

February 20: Resumes Work, Begins ‘Tissue Expander’

Four days after major surgery, Dr. Funk is “pleased to find [Angelina] not only in good spirits with bountiful energy, but with two walls of her house covered with freshly assembled storyboards for the next project she is directing. All the while she spoke, six drains dangled from her chest, three on each side, fastened to an elastic belt around her waist.” In subsequent days the tubes will be removed and Angelina will undergo saline tissue-expander injections. Explains Dr. Funk, “a tissue expander is a deflated implant that goes behind the pectoral muscles and gets slowly inflated with saline over a period of 2-3 months, until the chosen volume is reached. A second operation is performed to swap the expander for the final implant (usually silicone).” Some women have implants inserted immediately after mastectomies. Angelina chose her method to “maximize blood flow” and “optimize the final implant size, location, and appearance.”

March 7: Becomes a Wine Mogul

Miraval Rose 2012, the wine blended from grapes grown on Brangelina’s thousand-acre estate in Provence, hits the market. It sells out in five hours and tastes like “blooming jasmine and honeysuckle, red fruits of cherry, raspberry and watermelon, plus zippy citrus peel.”

March 26: Trip to Central Africa

In her role as a UNHCR special envoy, Angelina accompanies British Foreign Secretary William Hague to the Nzolo refugee camp in the Democratic Republic of Congo to raise awareness of warzone rape. The duo also visits Rwanda’s Gisozi genocide memorial and lay wreaths there.

April 2: Launches School, Jewellery Line

A Jolie-sponsored all-girls primary school opens in Kabul. It will educate 200 to 300 students and be financed by Angelina’s new Style of Jolie jewellery line. “Beyond enjoying the artistic satisfaction of designing these jewels, we are inspired by knowing our work is also serving the mutual goal of provided for children in need,” she tells E! News. One-hundred percent of profits will go to a new foundation called the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. They plan to open more schools later.

April 4: Women in World Summit in New York

Angelina introduces Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager shot in the head advocating for female education, and pledges $200,000 to Malala’s Fund. She wears a loose, floor-length Saint Laurent dress that earns red carpet rebuke.

    April 5: Family Toy Shopping

The day after her Women in the World appearance, Angelina returns to mothering. She and Brad bring their six children to FAO Schwarz. Angelina is still in the midst of tissue expansion, but she has no trouble carrying 4-year-old Knox (and his blankie) as pictured above.

    April 11: G8 Conference, London

Angelina reunites with British Foreign Secretary William Hague to attend the G8 Foreign Ministers’ Conference in London. She speaks about sexual violence in warzones. “Rape is not a women’s issue or a humanitarian issue,” she says. “It is a global issue.”

    April 27: Reconstructive Surgery

Ten weeks after the process started, Angelina has her breasts reconstructed with implants. After her recovery, she says her children “can see my small scars and that’s it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was.”

their longest relationships. I hope we get some new pictures of BA this
weekend. Have a great day dawn.

I think one of the most over-the-top things about Monteith’s death is when I read that they did a tribute to him at the Emmys…and then forgot to include Jack Klugman in the list of tv people who’ve died since the last Emmys. Between The Odd Couple, Quincy and various other tv shows and movies I think Klugman was a tv star for about 25 years. Monteith was an ensemble player in a cult show for a hot minute. I get that they’re catering to tweens for ratings but that’s inexcusable.

Boho takes on the Louis Zamperini photo

Angelina Jolie is a Dynamo! (Not In The Way You’re Thinking)

Posted on October 11, 2013 by Jen Paul

Crikey. If ever there was a tea-spit-screen moment it was this morning when I saw the above photograph with the headline:

    ‘Angelina’s a human dynamo!’

… which of course my brain turned into, ‘Angelina’s a dynamo in bed!’. Thank goodness I’ve been cutting back on smoking cigarettes or I’d have a nasty burn on my thigh now from spitting one out in shock.

The real reason that the 37-year-old actress is with war veteran Louis Zamperini, 96, and cuddling up to him with her eyes bizarrely closed and her cheek implants on display, is because they’re working together on the film she’s currently “directing” – Unbroken.

Let’s have a look at what that’s all about then:

Unbroken is an adaptation of Laura Hillenbrand’s 2010 best-selling book that spent 108 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and 14 of those weeks at No. 1.

It tells the story of the life of Zamperini, an Olympic athlete and war veteran who survived a plane crash during the war and floated on a raft for 47 days before being picked up by the Japanese and sent to a prisoner of war camp.

Louis is now one of Angie’s neighbours in the Hollywood Hills and he says of her:

‘Angelina is a human dynamo, and I know she will tell this story in the right way. I’ve received so many letters and talked to so many people who say that Laura’s book has helped them when they were going through hard times. ‘

I actually might get the book and read it because it sounds as if Louis has lead a fascinating life and is indeed a truly inspiring person.

Whether Angelina makes a C*** up of directing the Coen brothers-penned script or does his story justice remains to be seen, although personally I’d have preferred to have seen an actual director have a go at it – rather than a High School dropout on an ego trip.

10 Responses to Angelina Jolie is a Dynamo! (Not In The Way You’re Thinking)

    Angelinaballerina says:
Do you really think she is doing the directing work? I don’t know how she managed to get a big production like this with virtually no directing experience

    Dee says:
Isn’t she suppose to be telling this man’s life story? As with everything else she does, she will make it all about HER.

As for directing this movie, Universal has put into place, many people that have a lot of experience behind the camera. Believe me, she’ll have the title, the others are going to be doing the work.

Just like Maleficent, that inexperienced visual artist turned “director” is now being replaced by another director, to fix and re-shoot the first part of the movie.

    Aisling O’Connor says:
Is Angie to movie direction, what Victoria Beckham is to fashion design?

    Dzone says:
Lol cheek implants look good. She appears to be wear a Bra! No Porn Nipps, she didn’t want to poke the mans eye out! Jolie being classy. Is she really 37?? I thought She was 40 or 42 yrs.

    Mrs. Scott says:
The sane people of this world know that she won’t be doing any directing. She will, instead, walk around the set looking lost in her serious thoughts while pointing her bony fingers in various directions. In the meantime, her handlers will plant million stories across the globe desperately trying to persuade the world that Ho’s talent, creativity, and hard work has no equals in Hollywood. When the time comes to premiere this gem, the actors will be forbidden to be seen in public, while she, single handedly, promotes this movie and speaks with media outlets that won’t ask any hard questions. In the end, Pitt will buy her some kind of an award and nobody will remember this movie two months down the road.

I saw that story. The thing is – he and his doctor weren’t the only ones who knew so someone else could have called him on it a long time ago. He even admitted that he and Samuel L. Jackson agreed to lie and say it was throat cancer when SLJ was interviewing him for a British TV show. Personally I don’t care that he lied. Celebs have a right to keep all the details (or the correct details) of their health info private if they want to. Look at how the tabs twist everything about Angie. Tongue cancer does, however, make his tasteless (arf arf) joke about how he got cancer from oral sex make more sense.

Angelina Jolie Sets Japanese Singer Miyavi As Brutal WWII POW Camp Guard ‘The Bird’ In ‘Unbroken’

    By MIKE FLEMING JR | Friday October 11, 2013 @ 12:00pm PDT
EXCLUSIVE: Universal Pictures and director Angelina Jolie have found their villain for the Lou Zamperini tale Unbroken. Jolie has set Japanese guitarist and singer Miyavi to play the role of Mutsushiro Watanabe, known as “The Bird.” That is the guard who made it his mission to break the spirit of Zamperini, and who haunted the athlete-turned-POW’s every step after he was captured in WWII. I’m told by individuals close to the project that it was no easy task to cast this role. After a long search for the perfect actor, the filmmakers continually found themselves returning to Miyavi’s captivating audition, one that mixed grace, ferocity, sensitivity and sophistication. That audition got Miyavi his first lead role in a Hollywood film. Jolie begins production in Australia in two weeks, and Universal releases the film December 25, 2014
Miyavi might be a new face onscreen, but he is well known in international music circles for his unconventional guitar and singing skills and music that incorporates period-authentic guitars and playing styles from the 1940s. Now he’s going back to that volatile wartime era in Unbroken. Miyavi will have to reschedule part of an upcoming Asia tour to perform the role.
“As a musician, I questioned whether I should take a break from my craft to pursue this role,” Miyavi said in a statement. “After meeting Angie, it became clear to me that an underlying theme to this story is forgiveness. This resonated with me because that is exactly what I want express through my music. I look forward to taking on this challenge whole-heartedly.”

I must say, I have been fixated on The Bird since I first saw a wonderful short segment broadcast during the Nagano Olympics, where Zamperini returned to Japan in 1998. After running so compellingly in the final lap of his distance race in the 1936 Munich Olympics that Hitler asked to shake his hand, Zamperini was expected to bring home the gold with four more years of seasoning. The 1940 Olympics were scheduled to be held in Japan but all the fell apart in war. Zamperini instead arrived as a bombardier fighting in WWII. Sent on a rescue mission aboard a faulty aircraft, Zamperini and two other crewmen were the only survivors of a crash in the Pacific Ocean. After surviving in a raft for 47 days, the near dead men were caught by the Japanese Navy. And so began a POW ordeal that would have broken most men. In that CBS segment, Zamperini found the grace to forgive his captor, and offered to do it in person. The Bird was interviewed on camera, but he refused to meet with the hero he tormented for so many years.
Universal first made a movie deal with Zamperini in 1957, when Tony Curtis planned to make the Zamperini story his followup to Spartacus. He waited forever. It was kept alive for over a decade by Matthew Baer, who is producing with Jolie, Erwin Stoff and Clayton Townsend. The big break was the publication of the book by Seabiscuit author Laura Hillenbrand, which gave the project a second wind. Jolie, who had impressed Universal executives with her 2011 feature directing debut In The Land Of Blood And Honey. She flipped for the book and for Zamperini, and won the job over several other accomplished directors. And suddenly the 96-year old Zamperini sees his movie go into production, with Jack O’Connell playing him.
Joel and Ethan Coen wrote the most recent draft of the script, with earlier drafts written by William Nicholson and Richard LaGravenese. Jolie will have Roger Deakins as her DP, and Universal execs Kristin Lowe and Sara Scott are overseeing for the studio.
