‘Merica, the country where you can shoot a black kids if they look suspicious or wearing a hoodies, a rapist can walk freely, and a drug junkies can get a special television tribute. we came a long way don’t we.

I read the episode recap on Buzzfeed & my God, could it be any more maudlin & schmaltzy? I know this show is known for being corny, preachy… obnoxious, but they never cease to tone down the chessiness at all. Blech.

It was really beautiful and a fitting tribute. I think Cory would have liked it a lot. It amazed me how strong everyone was, particularly Lea.

@living in the box: It’s not how someone died, it’s who they were as a person that’s important. Being addicted to drugs doesn’t define who you are. Without him coming out about it before his death, in order to try to help other kids and teach them to not make the same mistakes, you would never have guessed he had a problem. He was the nicest and most genuine person. Just because he had a problem doesn’t mean he deserves grief any less. We all have demons and past. He was important to people and changed a lot of people’s lives. He deserved the tribute.

Since you seem to think you’re above him just because you may not be an addict, tell me, what charities do you work with? What kind of person are you? What difference have you made in the world?

I agree that Cory was the most genuine person. He was the reason I watched Glee. I am very sad that he died. He deserves all the grief from family, friends and fans.
But dedicating an entire show to him is obviously a ratings ploy. It worked because Glee has been going downhill and this tribute episode pulled the ratings back up.
I would have rather the episode tackled the issue of drug addiction rather than spend the entire show singing sappy songs. It wasn’t even really about Cory. It was more about the Glee cast. Do we really need to see Lea and co. crying their eyes out and being all emotional? Is it really necessary? We all know they are sad – I”m sad! But it just seemed fake and overly dramatic.

You forgot to mention Adriana also has a US Esquire cover in her pocket. UK is also very good but everyone knows the US is the holy grail for covers , while Miranda gets British HB and Esquire covers, Adriana gets the American ones. And everyone knows how hard it is for models to grace American magazine covers. So tell us again who is getting thee covers? And what genuine attention is Miranda getting over Adriana? Are you talking about the one she and her pr team work overnight for? But I gotta give them credit. They are doing an amazing job. Who knows they might get her a better cover than Cosmo next time. All they need to do is make sure she stays in the news, get papped 100 times a month and pull a major publicity stunt every 6 months. And keep booking those cheesy Asian brands to compensate for the lost VS and DJ contracts. Adriana by then would get another good cover, a hf campaign and continue securing that multi million dollar VS contract along with all the side jobs. All that while she stays low key like all the supermodels. No one needs to tell a star to shine.
