Charlie Hunnam Exits 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie

Charlie Hunnam has exited from the highly anticipated film Fifty Shades of Grey, according to Deadline!

“The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey,” Universal Pictures shared in a statement about the 33-year-old actor.

Prior to leaving the project, Charlie recently shared to EW, “There are so many fans of that book and I know that on the surface, I’m probably not what everybody imagined. Because reading is so personal and people bring a character to life in their imagination, they feel ownership over that character.”

This is really disappointing. I think Charlie is a wonderful actor and he would have been a fantastic Christian Grey. I hope he did not bow out due to fan pressure. Regardless I’m still watching Sons of anarchy for him :)

does this mean matt bomer can be cast? please!!

Go Ian, Go!

I was only going to watch it if he was in it. I didn’t read the books but I read plenty reviews saying it’s poorly written. Anyway I’m kinda glad he dropped out because I don’t think the movie would have turned out to be that great considering the amount bad reviews the book itself had gotten. Charlie’s better off! I’m sure he can land MUCH better roles in the future.

Thank god, im so happy he’s to good for this crap AND he’s on the best tv show… Good for him.

No actor with any credibility or integrity would want to be associated with that garbage in any way, shape or form. It affects your reputation, your ability to gain future roles, and your whole career. Actors need to choose their roles carefully, like Johnny Depp does.

Good, he is way too good of an actor to be on this movie. Also, he will have been remebered like that “50 shades of grey” actor and I don’t think that would be good. He is handsome, likeable and a good actor. He can do so much better without soft porn

i am glad for him at the same time i m a lil bumped!

Woooow, this is insane…I’m sure it’s due to crazy women complaining he was not good enough for what they had imagined in their dreamy heads…sick..costing somebody a job and humiliation…so sad

what? he read the book and changed his mind? :D :D

Finally, good news! Thank God!

i was only excited about the movie because of him :/

Sounds like a bunch of grown a** women wanted him out and got him out. Just as bad as those silly Bieber fans. Grow up ladies.

yessss…I love Charlie Hunnam and I am glad he is exiting the project :D … he is made for better things than pleasing some old women :D
