'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Hires Script Doctor

The highly anticipated movie Fifty Shades of Grey is reportedly getting some extra work done to its script, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Oscar-nominated writer Patrick Marber (Notes on a Scandal) has been brought in to polish up the script and do some character work. The move was reportedly made before the film’s star Charlie Hunnam exited the project.

Some rumors were swirling that Charlie decided to leave the project because he wasn’t happy with the script, written by Kelly Marcel. Sources say this is not correct and the script doctor was hired as a standard procedure and it is expected to be complete before production starts in November.

Actors who are on the contender list to play Christian Grey reportedly include Alexander Skarsgard, Theo James, Jamie Dornen, and Christian Cooke.

    WHAT? Says:

    Gosh, honestly why are they investing so much money and energy on this c.rap? It’s baffling to me that someone will actually watch a movie based on the worst written book I’ve ever read. Have they run out of ideas and movie plots?

    Maybe they should have hired a book doctor first. This is like a slow sinking ship.

    I’m not a hater, but the way this whole thing is going either one of these things is bound to happen:

    1) They’ll delay the release date.

    2) They won’t move forward with the project at all.

    @dalton: umm yeah that story is completely fabricated. no actor would speak like that. even if it did read the book and hate it, he wouldnt announce it. not to mention the reference to twilight, like he would of ever read those. dont spread false stories.

    @Kate: i hope they dont move forward. it will be the most awkward movie to watch in theatres beside a friend and/ or strangers.

    Jessie Says:

    Given the books were poorly written, not to mention ridiculous, given the script that has been written seems to be weak, I think the studio’s would be smarter not to go ahead with this drivel.

    @Jessie:

    I’m glad that I’m not the only one who hated the books. Even with two amazing leads this would be almost impossible to bring to the screen. Charlie made the right choice when he decided to exit the film!

    Dornan, it’s Dornan, not Dornen. Honestly.

    I would have seen the movie if Charlie was in it, but not now…The books made 100′s of millions of $$$$$$…Someone was doing something right there…

    Obviously they think this stupid movie is worth spending all that money. I’l laugh if it ends up tanking after all this work to keep it alive.

    It will not tank…It is already one of the most anticipated films coming out next year….

    @BlogBrat:

    I think they should release it via VOD and online instead of in the theaters.
