Ratings for the season four premiere of The Walking Dead are in and they demolished the show’s previous record!

The premiere episode was viewed by 16.1 million people and with time-shifted playback, it is expected to exceed 20 million viewers.

The previous record for an episode of The Walking Dead was for the season three finale back in March, which was viewed by 12.4 million people.

These ratings cement The Walking Dead as the number one show on all of television among the coveted 18-49 demographic. Last night’s broadcast even outperformed primetime NFL football!
