'Glee' Ending After Sixth Season, Says Creator Ryan Murphy

Ryan Murphy has reportedly said that Glee will not return after its sixth season, Variety reports.

“The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn’s story. I always knew that, I always knew how it would end,” Ryan said, admitting that Cory Monteith‘s tragic death factored heavily into the decision. “I knew what the last shot was, he was in it. I knew what the last line was, she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now.”

Glee‘s fifth season will return from hiatus in November.

Ryan Murphy always said that he knew what the last scene would be, now I’m really curious about what he had in mind.

look how big her nose used to be.

so sad to hear that Glee will end next season. I wish they would push through with the Finchel ending.

@car: please stop making negative comment irrelevant to the article. rudeness is an illness.

@car: i’m sure it was photoshopped or angled to make it look a lot bigger

This keeps getting sadder…

Hopefully, they will address the drug issue and make the point that every moment counts. Iʻm sure Cory didnʻt mean to overdose, but all it took was a bad decision to lead to his final moment.

Ryan Murphy really knows how to milk a death for publicity.

They honestly should end it after the 5th season because it was struggling for ratings last season and will most likely continue that trend the rest of this season. Interest is simply gone. Murphy always drags things on for too long, bow out at 100 episodes

THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After trashing so many songs, this stupid show end, im so happy!

Actually, no.. The show lost its appeal to me following the graduation (aka I didn’t bother to watch the last season after watching the two first eps) and they should end the show while they still have viewers and a fan base (aka – they should NOT do whatever it was the producers of one tree hill were doing.. crrrazy…)
I hope they’ll go out with a bang. It used to be a great show but like I said. They’re only reinventing the wheel at this point. They were AWESOME the first two seasons. The third one was kinda “meh” and the fourth one.. Whoa, don’t even get me started. So yeah. I ain’t sad.

@glenn:

actually they have done more justice to most of their songs that not … they use live arrangements for most of their music making the pop crap sound better than the computer generated “music” of the original song.

It’s sad but without Cory it’s not the same :,(

it’d be great if would could get a summary of what would have happened in season 6.

Glee ended at the end of season 3 for me

Glee should have ended after the first season. It went downhill. Saved By The Bell was more interesting (and that show really wasn’t). The only thing that keeps people watching it is the NYC storyline. The whole high school thing with the kids, Sue and Emma is just boring.

@natalie couldn’t have said it better myself.

@natalie: couldn’t have said it better myself!

Kinda sad it’s ending but also very pissed that the final season was all about Finchel.. like the other character don’t matter..
