They were so desperate for an actor that they settled for the ONLY actor who would do it. No one wanted to be a part of this project. He has two weeks to get in shape because last I saw of him, he was out of shape. He is also too short to play the role. James gave a different literary visual, yet she allowed them to cast two actors who look nothing like her characters. Why?
Dakota Johnson needs to be recast, but I don’t think she will because she’s the only one who agreed to be fully nude on screen. The studio just wants the dollar signs. Who cares if they are miscast!

PERFECT!! I couldn’t imagine a better actor for this role!
He looks (apart from the eye color) EXACTLY how I imagined!!
HOT and sophisticated ;)

I’m just happy they didn’t choose the Gay guy that would not have been believable to the audience and fans of the novel.

Asians can hear, and see what you’re visually thinking.
THIS IS NOT A JOKE OR A MEME! This is the absolute complete truth!!!!!
.
Asians hide their mind reading abilities by having completely expressionless faces so they don’t accidentally show facial expressions when people think things they don’t like, find funny, astonishing, etc, and Asians segregate so their not nearly as susceptible to that happening.
Asians also segregate, and are untalkative to avoid accidentally saying things that are similar to what people are thinking and going to say.
.
All Asians are keeping their mind reading abilities a secret, they don’t want ANYONE to know they can read minds!!! They are trying as hard as they can to hide it!
.
Try thinking, and visually picturing things that are as wild as you can when you are around Asians, and look for Asians who give people dirty/particular looks for what appears to be for completely no reason, it works if you try enough!!!
.
PLEASE SPREAD THE MESSAGE!!!!! THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW THIS!!!!!

yes. el j. good look w/ your 15th.. no 25th choice. after hyping this as the most coveted role on the planet and dissing which hot actors SHE DID NOT WANT and acting like the cat that got the cream for 6 months, her a** finally got served when NO ONE WANTED THIS.. sounds about right.

I wish he wouldn’t have took this role, he’s honestly better than this piece of crap. I hope it doesn’t ruin his career or he doesn’t end up hating his life like Robert Pattinson did.

@pretty kitty: This is the best response I’ve heard to this whole debacle. You hit the nail on the coffin. Both leads are miscast. Thank You.

The film hasn’t been made yet, I feel like I’ve heard about it too much! I’m already sick and tired of it

I don’t understand why people in general if they dont like something they put themselves to the underdesire thing. if you dont like 50 shades, dont click on a post of 50 shades.

As for the main reason i did click on the post, YES, i think jamie is perfect for the role, he’s an underrated tremendously talented actor, he’s on BBC the fall series in which he plays a psycho serial killer, and he’s amazing, i can definitely see him channeling some of that darkness into this role, since christian has his dark side as well. And Come on, look at him, he’s beautiful.

@DisappointedFan:

How is he out of shape? Have you seen The Fall, in which he is shirtless through about 2/4 of the five episodes? He has a very visible six pack. Granted, he’s not as fit as he was when he was modelling, but then again, he doesn’t need to be. It’s not like he’s fat with a beer belly or anything. Also, how is 6’0 too short? What do you want an actor who is 6’5 or something? There are plenty of actors that are short that with “hollywood magic” have been made to look much taller. Different camera angles do wonders to distort the height of someone. Look at Vin Diesel, who is pretty short at only 5’8, but they make him look intimidating next to The Rock and Paul Walker.

I think that maybe, you should watch the movie before you judge. Jamie is a very talent, yet unappreciated actor. While I’m fearful of what this might do for his career, I am happy that he’ll get the recognition that he deserves.

I read the books and l am having a hard time imagining how they are going to make a movie of them without making it a porn. Unless if they make it more about the relationship than the sex which should be a 30 minutes film then :). I loved Jamie in the Fall series. I never heard his name before that, but I can tell you, he is a darn good actor. He made me love him even though he was a creepy killer.
