'Star Wars' Changes Writers: J.J. Abrams & Lawrence Kasdan Take Over

Looks like Star Wars Episode VII execs are changing up the writing team: director J.J. Abrams and Empire Strikes Back co-writer Lawrence Kasdan are taking over the duties as a duo, according to Deadline.

Michael Arndt is currently credited as the writer, and has many big projects under his belt including The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Toy Story 3.

Star Wars Episode VII, which is being directed by J.J., is expected to be released in theaters sometime in 2015. Many original Star Wars characters are rumored to be returning including Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, and more.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of the change up in writers on the upcoming Star Wars movie??

Hmm…well Kasdan worked on the original trilogy so that’s good but Arndt is a great writer so it’s a shame he is no longer involved with the project. I really hope they don’t; screw the new trilogy up and it is amazing. Looking forward to them so much!
