If there were an event like that for “White Girls” than people would call it racist. And I am tired of seeing these people get promoted through affirmative action at my company. What about the rest of us who are neither black or white?

    A Says:

That so true @tick!I can’t even imagine an event called “White Girls” without any scandal and fuss! That’s so unfair! What with the other girls? Are they now worse or what? :(

  3. 3
    nope Says:

@tick: you can kindly shut the f up. ‘these people’ are constantly marginalized by people like you. and there is an event like this for white people, it’s called every single awards show to ever exist. goodbye.

    Frame Says:

I totally agree. Black people are the biggest racist!

Miley Cyrus is a true rocker.

    Wig Fan Says:

@nope: I love black girl wigs from India.

    Devynn Says:

@Frame: Thanks for the dumb generalization. PoC living in the United States are constantly bombarded by a whitewashed society. Black actresses and model are photoshopped to have thinner lips and slimmer noses. How many black girls straighten their hair because they’re told curly/kinky/nappy hair is unnatractive. America as a whole is racist toward anyone who isn’t the blue eyed, blonde haired girl next door. So excuse black women who want younger girls of color to know that it’s okay to be different in a society where they’re told they aren’t good enough.

Tell Coca Cola and FedEx to Stop Sponsoring white supremacy and that the Racist NFL team “Redskins” should end. Tell them to stop profiting off of the Hate Crime Culture that is perpetuated by the use of the Washington “Redskins” team nickname.
End the Ethnic Bullying and Hate Crime culture perpetuated by the NFL by writing to Coca Cola and FedEx. As customers, we demand that these corporations not promote White Supremacy, Hate Crimes, Bigotry, and Ethnic Bullying.

    Love The Shoes Says:

@tick: There have been MANY White Girls Rock events and it was called “history of white folks in America since the Mayflower docked.”

    pika Says:

@Frame: well done for generalizing you fool. cant u see that all around us is the european white beauty? its SOOO bad in asia that its hard to find partners if ur a few shades darker than others. but no all blacks are racist because they want to acknowledge their beauty that was forced down.

if u cant see that this society forces the white beauty on everyone to live up too then theres something wrong.

    Love The Shoes Says:

@Devynn: I love you Devynn! Preach! Brava!

    Love The Shoes Says:

@pika: And brava to you too Pika. They just don’t get it. It’s all about them coming and going. When you have never been judged by simply being born not white, you can’t even get it. Hell, they’re doing it right now in this thread! How dare some black women celebrate ROCK AND ROLL “someplace they have NEVER been accepted!” How damn dare they! Brad Paisley got his ass handed to him by country music fans for daring to make a song with LL Cool J but calling an event that hasn’t excluded anyone BUT is for women who HAVE been excluded in that certain genre is “racists.” Bullshit.

  15. 15
    Love The Shoes Says:

@are u serious: WORD, Word, and word! Preach! They have hit the proverbial nerve on this one. I see tv shows with 15 people in the cast and then they’ll pop in an Asian or brown latino, or a black person OR, maybe not! I’m thinking “ok, this show is about life in general in America in a city like NY or Chicago or Los Angeles and they could only find one non white cast member for a show about a damn hospital or restaurant or hotel or anything that a cast of 15 in a metropolitan city in the U.S?!” Go figure. Even Tyler Perry spreads the race wealth!

    pika Says:

@Love The Shoes: Equality doesn’t exist and it never will.

    amy Says:

i dont know why people are hating on this i think its great that blacks stand up for themselves and ethnics in general. racism still goes on today and will continue to and these comments just proved it. as soon as a colored person is proud of their heritage they are stomped on and called racist. its ridiculous guys, you make white people look worse.

  18. 18
    [marie] Says:

I agree with “nope.” Black women have been and continue to be marginalized in the the fashion and entertainment world.

To everyone else making idiotic statements about ‘white girls rock’ and other false equivalencies, do yourself a favor and look up the term “white privilege.”The reason there is no “White Entertainment Television” or “white girls rock” because white women have been held, and continued to be held as the standard of beauty to the detriment of women of color for centuries. You want White Entertainment Television? Try CBS, NBC, or ABC.

Not everything that mentions race is racist.

  19. 19
    Ronda Says:

@tick: Boo friggin’ hoo. If it offends you so much, why not make your own organization for whatever your people happen to be since you’re not “black or white” whatever the he** you are, do something about it and stop your belly aching. There are PLENTY of organizations/events that are clearly excluding of Black Women/people and so when we have something that celebrates US WhyTF not? Go ahead and have a White Girls Rock gathering who TF cares? As for “these people who are promoted because of affirmative action” do you think that possibly any of them actually oh I don’t know, have worked hard for that promotion? Have actually received a higher education? (obviously higher than you) and deserve that promotion? BTW, if you’re neither black nor white it’s probably a good chance that somewhere along the line you too may have benefited from affirmative action whether you know it or not. So GTFOHWTBS.

    WhiteFangHips Says:

Black ladies need to stop wearing weaves.

So many are balding now due to scalp sewing.

  21. 21
    annd Says:

@WhiteFangHips: clearly u didnt understand this discussion. black women feel the need to wear weaves because of the european beauty of having long hair, something that have not obtained since the slavery times as when they were captured their hair was chopped up completely and never adapted to the climates therefore their hair didnt ever grow that long. now, although a lot more black people have longer and healthier hair, it is not considered attractive because it is not fine and flowing like whites which is why they wear weaves. even black models cant have their natural hair out without being criticised that its not chic by white hair stylists. its like they cant win.

    DRB Says:

Exactly. If you’re marginalized, you can make your own. For those who aren’t everything else applies to you.

    Nephelle Says:

You white people are so naive! when in history was the white woman left out of music, film, told she was not and is not the standard of beauty, told that she was ugly, loud, ill educated? white women were placed on a pedestal and the black woman had to constantly fight for her place in this world with two strikes against her, being black and being a woman. Its a dam shame that white people call themselves superior and still unable to realize the difference. It has always had a white girls’ rock until maybe the 60′s stop being so petty white people and let others shine! the decline of white supremacy are really killing some of you!
