Lady Gaga: I Don't Feel Pressure to Explain Who I Am

Lady Gaga strikes a pose on the cover of Glamour‘s Women of the Year December 2013 issue, on newsstands November 5.

Here’s what the 27-year-old superstar had to share with the mag:

On her confidence: “…I’m confident in who I am. I’ve come to a place in my life where I’ve accepted things that are me, as opposed to feeling pressure to explain myself to people around me. That’s just the way I’ve always tried to be. It didn’t change when I became a star.”

On being Gaga vs. Stefani: “I’m both all the time. Gaga and Stefani are my nicknames. I guess when people meet me for the first time and call me Stefani, it bothers me. Because it’s something that’s reserved for only the people who are closest to me. It’s not because I don’t like my given name; it’s that I became somebody else. I became somebody else for a reason, you know. This is part of what my message is—you can become whoever you want to be, to escape your past.”

On if she considers herself beautiful: “Not conventionally beautiful. If there was some sort of mathematical equation for beauty, I don’t know if I would be the algorithm. I’ve always been OK with that. I’m not a supermodel. That’s not what I do. What I do is music. I want my fans to feel the way I do, to know what they have to offer is just as important, more important, than what’s happening on the outside.”

No amount of makeup and photoshop can cover her ugliness.

I should be seeing this magazine in my mailbox soon… So I’m not going to spoil it by reading what’s above!! I will say though, Gaga looks great. When she has a normal hair color and natural makeup, I really think she’s pretty. We all know she’s had her nose done, but she looks presentable here.

    RIGHT!

Gaga is a good and genuine soul. It’s a shame that people are so intimidated by that enough to hate her. Say what you will, at the end of the day, she has her millions of fans, millions of dollars, good looks, and a hot ass boyfriend (Taylor Kinney). What about you?

This girl is so talented, beautiful inside and out, great example for young people, I’m proud to have her. It’s sad to know that some people don’t understand art and make shallow judgments, just like they did with MJ.
Well Gaga, you’re a stunning looking girl besides all the great talent, you go!

Woman of the year? Must of been a bad year for women. I would of understood it a couple of years ago when she was at the top of her game but now?

GAGA The GREAT !! Lovely Pictures. Gaga is the NEW QUEEN OF POP. ARTPOP is amazing. Aura is my favorite. Sexxx Dreams will be the song of the summer. Do what you want featuring the King of R&B, Mr. R Kelly will make Lady Gaga unstoppable. Things happen for a reason and once in a blue moon we get these Mega Superstars who are a force and people don’t understand them. Gaga will join the club with the ranks of Micheal Jackson, Prince, Elvis and the other greats. Mark my words, her FORCE will be UNSTOPPABLE. The other pop wanna b’s are lazy. Gaga is putting in work and that’s why her fans love her. She’s on that clock all day every day.

I think she is beautiful in her own way. She reminds me of a modern-day Cher. She tells it like it is and she has a pure soul. Cher has always reminded me of that, too. They are both trailblazers.
