The AMAs are as important as a kindergarten diploma

# 2

JJ you have to do a correction, Florida Georgia Line Featuring Nelly, “Cruise” won best single
@ Uranussmell69 …..American music awards are based on album sales, singles sales… So they are as important as selling music is to the music industry .

# 3

just jared shouldn’t Taylor Swift’s picture be on this post since she cleaned house and own best female artist and best artist of the year.

# 4

taylor swift is not country artist and hasn’t been for years. giving her that award is a slap in the face to all the authentic country singers

# 5

America’s taste in music sucks hard. It’s disappointing to me that these were the winners. They are so mediocre in my opinion and it’s always the same artists who win. So predictable now and unneccessay to watch.

# 6

Swift won for pop/rock female AND Country female? Seriously?? What a joke!!!

# 7

Exaclty! Taylor Swift was the biggest winner of the night!!!
Then why this post has a picture of JT and Rihanna???
There should be a Taylor’s picture!!!!
Anyway, I’m so proud of her!!!! she keeps slaying!!!!!

# 8

@Tiff: She’s that amazing!!! every and each song of her album has a different genre!!!! :P
Plus JT won in two different genres too!!!

# 9

@liz: I recommend you to listen to the whole album and not just the singles she’s released bc you’re really embarrasing yourself saying something that is not true and can be proven wrong ;)

@Avril: LOL! no honey, Taylor Swift is awful. I notice you’re pretty much the only one ever defending her on here. Why are you so obsessed with her? Find an idol that can actually sing!

@ Tiff… Singers and artists are in many categories .. Rihanna was in POP/ROCK & SOUL / R&b… Rihanna many things but she isn’t soul or really R&B, and if you had the Red album, Taylor does do country songs on her album, not just the more popular ones that get air play. …. since Taylor won artist of the year , JJ she should be the picture in this post.

@Tiff
I’m defending her. She’s is Great… 6 million that bought her album at Full Price can’t be wrong. If you don’t like her , don’t buy her music. I’m sure she’s not hurting for your $14.99.

@Tiff: The only one defending her? I don’t think so :P

Thank you for changing the picture JJ :)

is she a pop/rock or a country artist?

Congratulations to Taylor!! It doesn’t matter whether she is classed as a country or pop singer.. She is a talented artist with a huge following:
both country and pop fans. Taylor also has a reputation for being one of the kindest, most giving people around .. She is a class act all the way!

@Tiff: Hey Tiff, You need to go away, cause I’m defending her too!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS TAYLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once music could be described in terms of many genres and styles. This resulted in a variety of artist and music styles receiving radio airplay and being invited to award shows. The formula now is to de-focus by blurring the different genres causing only few to be promoted by the music industry. In the long-run, there will be noting left but bullshit.

@liz: true carrie underwoood or other country singer should have won

WOW. Four crystal trophies for my four pairs of trophy wives. To go with my ever-green 1972 restored 2+2 Alfa…

Year, Favorite Country Female Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, and Favorite Country Album for Red. This is her third time winning the year’s top prize!

Is she Pop Rock or country??????????? Not both, you can cross over, but you should have a main one, and stay there. Three years in a row? FIXED!

Taylor just can’t sing. Pop-country or whatever she attempts to sing is just awful. One thing for sure is that she definitely is not country. Wake up CMA’s!

To the people saying she’s not country I stronlgy recommend you to listen to her whole album instead of saying things based on your assumptions.
And if she wasn’t country they would still recognize her as country bc she has done a lot for that genre and has taken it to places it has never been.
70% of the people who knows country music now wouldn’t know it if it wasn’t for Taylor.

Avril-I have to disagree with you. She hasn’t brought younger listeners to this genre. She still sings tween songs and that is what her fan base is. Kids who are still developing taste in music and it’s not to country music. Taylor is almost…what…24…how much longer is she going to attempt to sing crap like “we are never ever getting back together again!” Just because you bring in an occasional banjo and fiddle-doesn’t make you country. 70% is a little over the top-country was here long before she showed up and will still be here after people discover she can’t sing.

When I’m looking for the latest country music, I always end up in one spot – 103.1 WIRK. I was even lucky enough to catch up with Keith Van Allen in the streets and got free ‘Rib Round Up’ tickets. Just one of the many events that keep me tuned into http://www.wirk.com
