Paul Walker Death: 'Fast & Furious 7' Production Halted

Paul Walker‘s tragic death has halted production on his upcoming film Fast & Furious 7, which was in the middle of production in Atlanta, Ga.

“Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise,” Universal wrote in a statement.

“We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker,” the statement concluded.

    Im glad with this decision. As one of PW’s biggest fans. I honestly do feel they need to tread lightly with this franchise…He’s the ultimate reason why I even go and watch these movies….

    @Dee: THIS.

    and also he’s one of the 4 main characters, so whatever they decided to do with brian’s fate theres gonna have to be tons of closure, because the whole arc of brian, dom and mia’s characters is about family and finding happiness (brian grew up without a father) so him having a son and then to have his character die…well… it isnt exactly what you want… yes I absolutely agree, they need to tread super lightly, its gonna be difficult and they also need to honor paul’s fans….halting production was more than obvious decision.

    They should let this one be the actual last for the franchise..and dedicate it to Paul. To continue would not be the same and as viewers it would bring back his memory of his tragedy. Take the moneys from this “Last” film and give to his family and that of the other person who lost their life or donate to a cause that Paul supported. In good memories for a well loved person.
