Next week Miley Cyrus plays Mary Poppins, twerks the hell out of a group of chimney sweeps

People say Carrie Underwood is no Julie Andrews. Well, duh Julie Andrews didn’t win American Idol. Think people.

I can’t wait for Cats: Live! Starring Taylor Swift and Michael C Hall. You’re killing it NBC. Keep going

The singing was absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed everything musical about this. Carrie, Stephen, Audra, Christian, Laura and the nuns and the children have amazing voices. Especially enjoyed Stephen and Audra and Laura singing. The oldest girl and younger boy were spot on in everything they did from acting to singing. However, the acting was mostly bad. The two main characters were trying too hard to be Maria and George, failing badly. Still, the singing was beautifully done and because of that, I enjoyed it.

I thought the children all had wonderful voices and made it much better. Although I adore Carrie it was unimpressive to watch her ‘act’ – it was cringe-worthy and she was bad. Her voice wasn’t confident singing those songs. I’d hoped Carrie would do well, but no. I gave up watching after 50% of the show, I couldn’t take it anymore.

I too cringed at Carrie’s “acting”, she had one expression and tone the whole time and she seemed so uncomfortable that it was uncomfortable watching her. She can sing, but she can’t act AT ALL!!

Carries acting was horrible, you could totally see her reading cue cards. Her singing was ok, but I felt the whole thing lacked the compassion that the movie brings to us.

@sorella:

Sorella , I concur. it is very similar to Jennifer Lawrence’s acting. The poor girl can only act with one facial expression and problems delivering her lines.

Horrible. I watched “Climb Every Mountain” (parts of it). Not looking out the window to the “mountains” and “streams.” Orchestra was way too loud for the singer’s voice. I echo the comment, whoever thought this was a good idea is a typical Hollywood, non-creative loser, especially when the original is so easily accessible to anyone interested these days. A remake of “The Sound of Music”? LMAO

To all you snarky people-it is so easy for you to sit there and make comments about Carrie. I would love to see you do what she did Thursday evening and do a live performance for 3 hours. You all probably can’t act, sing, or get along with others. Carrie did an amazing job knowing snarky people like you would be “bold, brave, and daring” behind your computer and attack her performance. You are truly a sad bunch of misfits.

she did awesome! that goatherd song is so hard to do while she’s moving around and playing with the kids and jumping on the bed! I can’t believe she got through it! She did great.
