Lea Michele Performs 'Cannonball' on 'X Factor' - Watch Now!

Lea Michele takes the stage on the season three finale of The X Factor for her first live performance of her single “Cannonball” on Thursday (December 19) in Los Angeles.

The 27-year-old entertainer tweeted about how excited – and nervous – she was to perform on the show that night.

“AHHH! I WAS JUST ON @TheXFactorUSA!!!! #CANNONBALL #LeaOnXFactor OMG!!!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️” Lea tweeted after the show.

Earlier in the week, Lea flashed a big smile as she left a studio with a bottle of water and a healthy, green drink in hand in Hollywood.

FYI: Lea is wearing J Brand leather pants, an Isabel Marant tank, an Iro jacket, and Jerome C. Rousseau shoes.

This was a far better performance by her:

Seriously. This song is really bad. I prefer her oversinging other people’s songs while pulling ugly faces on Glee.

I love her voice. But I think Lea releasing a Pop album is just wrong! Her voice was not made for pop music. It doesn’t work well together. The tone of her voice, the richness, the way she pronounces her lyrics – ALL meant for broadway. That’s what she was trained in, that’s what her voice has become known for and that’s where she should stay.

@Nikki: I agree 100%. beautiful and resonant voice, but she is too accustomed to theatrical singing at this point that it’s the only style that works for her.

# 5

@Nikki: That’s why I like it so much! She is different and unique. Great performance.

Her voice has a lot of limitations, that’s why it changes so much across the whole song. She’s not a power singer. Folk would probably be more suited to her.

Something softer.

Have you not seen GLee and all the pop songs she covers on that show? She is amazing and can basically sing everything. Many of those pop songs hit ITunes as #1.

I hate to say it but I do agree. This song is really repetitive (sorry sia, normally good but repetitive) and doesn’t suit her voice all that well. I was so hoping for it to be good but she is so theatrical in nature that it doesn’t mix. Even her hand gestures are theatrical.
I get that she sings pop songs on glee but bringing out an album of new songs is very different.
