Beyonce: I Wanted to Follow in Madonna's Footsteps!

Madonna sports a hooded jacket while arriving for a departing flight at JFK Airport on Monday (December 23) in New York City.

The 55-year-old entertainer was joined for the flight by her daughter Mercy, 8.

Over the weekend, Madonna made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live, which was hosted by Jimmy Fallon.

“I felt like I wanted to follow the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have my own empire and show other women when you get to this point in your career, you don’t have to go sign with someone else and share your money and your success — you do it yourself,” Beyonce recently shared to THR.

Well, next to Madonna, she’s the closest “powerhouse” female musician.

Note (to the braindead Hagney Smears fans: she has no control over her career and is a puppet, so do not inundate this thread with your garbage).

She’s gotten as close to being in Madonna’s league as she ever will. She’s been around way too long, it didn’t happen 5 years ago and it won’t happen in the next 5 years.

The music industry is going in a direction that won’t afford her new support and will only ensure the lost of more support that she needs. She jumped the shark, what the heck, she jumped seaworld when she went shopping at walmart for a ‘promotion gig’ #sorryboutit!!! AND I’m a fan!!!!

see now, madonna didnt need to pull stunts like these to ensure album sales. i have no doubt in my mind this album wouldve tanked had she not pulled the stunt she pulled. any criticism has been lost amongst the album sales. its the shock factor.

It’s clear she was channeling Madonna in the video for “Haunted”. Both Bad Chicks.

There is only one Madonna, like there is only one Meryl Streep. I like Beyonce, but she hasn’t put out the number of hit songs and dance tunes that Madonna put out. So many great singers with talent and beautiful voices never come close to achieving what Madonna did. Madonna is a very unusual person and she wanted to be a big star. She had intense drive. She loved attention. She was always gracious with fans and didn’t mind the photos. Madonna also didn’t read what everybody said about her. Plus, today is different time — a less positive time for the entire world. I think everything is losing its OOMPH! Everybody can be a star on You Tube or viral videos. Singers and actors are not very special anymore.

Beyonce no. Madonna is Madonna & you are Beyonce. Madonna & you are two different women keep it that way. There is only one Madonna!

Can I say that Madonna is awful? can I say that her voice and her music are awful for me? Or you think everybody loves her way and her perfomance?

Dirk_Reese-Fan @ 12/26/2013 at 12:58 pm

If you wanna´ say that she is awful for you, then give us a reason.
Indeed, not everybody loves her music. That would be too mysterious.
But she has her fans. And her music is still interesting for her fans, of course.
And she is a symbol for independency of women.
She´s doing what she likes and not what the others want her to do.
And yes, I think she´s still able to open her heart for a man is the future.
Let´s wait and see.
Mo-Power-ForeverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrMo, yep !
Highhhhh 5.

Independency of women???? Is she a symbol? because she shows and touchs her body?? I cann’t say anymore.
