Phil Robertson's Suspension from A&E's 'Duck Dynasty' is Over

Phil Robertson‘s suspension from his hit series Duck Dynasty has been lifted and A&E has announced that the temporary ban from the show will have no effect on the upcoming fifth season.

“As a global media content company, A+E Networks’ core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect,” the network said in a statement (via THR). “We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people’s home and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principals.”

“That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson. While Phil’s comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the ‘coarse language’ he used and the mis-interpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would ‘never incite or encourage hate.’ We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article, and reiterate that they are not views we hold,” the statement continued.

“But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family… a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A+E Networks also feel strongly about.

So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.

We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company, and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio.”

I’m so glad that this **** is over with, the gay community needs to understand that not everybody isn’t going to agree w/ there lifestyle it’s just how it is. What he said was somewhat ignorant but at least he spoke the truth. I don’t watch the show and I honestly don’t give a damn about two women and two men ******** each other either just let people live and have there opinions.

Tiana, just like Phil has his opinions about Gay people and Black people, others can have opinons about Phil as well. It goes both ways. If he can dish it out, better be ready to take it.

@Tiana: I stopped reading your comment as soon as you referred to it as a “lifestyle.” People’s hatred actually bothers me less than their ignorance.

Ahhh, A&E admit they made a mistake acting so quickly. Guess they have more important things to think about, then keeping their integrity in tact! Money. Nice move A&E. You have lost this viewer and many many others. Shame.

Exactly. All the pouting posters did for this grown man's ignorance. Freedom of speech doesn't mean that just because you can say it, you should just go ahead and say it. This man, and now a huge reflection on A&E, needs to practice self control and respect.

Why doesn’t A&E show this man and his family for who they really are? Show his bigotry. It is a REALITY show. Then maybe people will turn off.

    Wen Girl Says:

I watch this show sometimes. It’s a crack-up. This man is who he is. The way he says things straight into the camera without blinking is hilarious. I don’t agree with everything he says (he’s definitely chauvinistic also), but until he really “rubs me the wrong way” and makes me furious, I can tolerate him and enjoy the rest of the family. They seemed like totally trashy people from afar, but really they are not. They have pretty good values and it shows in how they are with each other.

I was going to comment on this forum but I guess somebody else with the name Tiana decided to beat me to the punch LOL!
