Phil Robertson's Suspension from A&E's 'Duck Dynasty' is Over

Phil Robertson‘s suspension from his hit series Duck Dynasty has been lifted and A&E has announced that the temporary ban from the show will have no effect on the upcoming fifth season.

“As a global media content company, A+E Networks’ core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect,” the network said in a statement (via THR). “We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people’s home and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principals.”

“That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson. While Phil’s comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the ‘coarse language’ he used and the mis-interpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would ‘never incite or encourage hate.’ We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article, and reiterate that they are not views we hold,” the statement continued.

“But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family… a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A+E Networks also feel strongly about.

So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.

We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company, and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio.”

fortunately his generation of dumb old racist homophobic rednecks are all dying off. I only hope the younger generations aren’t the same way. besides even if they are the world is changing and they will be left behind and will also look as ridiculous as the older generations

@Chris: Everybody on this planet has a lifestyle, especially when it comes to their intimate life. You can be someone looking for love, marriage and commitment and pursuing that. You can also be a promiscuous single and sleep with every person you can. You can be a liar in a marriage who sneaks and cheats on your spouse whenever you want and as a way of life. You can have an open relationship or marriage with your spouse. You can choose to be celibate and be a complete loner. You can choose to be celibate and fill your life with wonderful friendships instead. Decisions. Decisions. Life is all about choices.

Thank you so much for explaining that I didn’t think lifestyle would be so offensive to people.

Nobody said that you can’t have an opinion but if you are famous and has a lot of influence on people around you and watch your show you should be careful about what you say.

Translation of the A&E rep’s statement: “A&E realized it would lose more money by keeping this ignorant hillbilly off the show than it would to stand by their own contractual clause.”
    It’s all about the money.
Thankfully, our country is evolving and hate filled bigots such as Phil Robertson are quickly becoming the minority.
Deal with it, like minded morons.

    Records Keeper Says:

Why this caucasian pretender is in America is anyones guess. It seems to be mainly a ploy to try to position America as a caucasian-slash-homosexual place. The Americans don’t have homosexuality and they’re cleaning out the past couple of centuries of transoceanic aliens so that is all wishful thinking. A sort of a last minute attempt on the part of the aliens.
