I remember the last time NBC went down this road, it did not end well.

He is not funny at all and has a try hard personality. He’s probably the worst I can think of being the new host.

i like him , he will do his best

Usually I cannot stay up this late, but really liked Jay Leno. Of course Johnny Carson was the best.

@Mary Anne: I think the role of tonight show host requires more than just being funny… I didn’t consider her predecessors very funny. I think it boils down to a certain class of person. Someone likable, non-controversial, smart and talented. Jimmy Fallon qualifies. Plus, he’s a nice looking guy as well. A class act.

oops: “his’ not “hers”

NBC is so dumb for forcing Leno to retire early. You would not see Letterman letting CBS treat him like this.

I never thought he was funny and I think this show will be a major flop. They’ll be begging Leno to come back. Just don’t see him doing well at 11;30

NBC must have a lot of bean counters i.e. stupid people working at their company as it really shows. I can’t believe that they were actually stupid enough to try this horrible “experiment” again by bringing another “young victim” in, such as Fallon, to headline the Tonight Show EVEN THOUGH Jay was on top of the ratings AGAIN before he was shoved out AGAIN! Somebody there had an agenda with Jay and made it their effort to remove him as soon as possible. Those over at NBC really need to have the phrase “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” engraved into their tiny brains because it’s clear to me that they don’t even pay attention to their own ratings. Fallon’s hosting and comedic style while hosting his Late Night show was nothing special and it showed in his ratings, which were worse than Conan’s original Late Night show on NBC. I’m sure he’ll be swell in the Tonight Show (sarcasm). Something tells me that the viewing audience will give the same treatment to Jimmy as they did to Conan when he first started hosting the Tonight Show. They’ll tune in for the first few episodes (maybe for a week or two) and then his ratings will plummet off the face of the Earth. They’ll see! Like last time, NBC will be begging Jay to come back, but if I were Jay, I’d give the network the cold shoulder and let them suffer! I’m sure Jay will be picked up by another network by then anyway!
