Ben Affleck Curls Up with Lifeless Rosamund Pike in 'Gone Girl' 'EW' Cover

Ben Affleck remains in character as Nick Dunne as he curls up against his seemingly lifeless wife, Amy, played by Rosamund Pike, in this Entertainment Weekly cover highlighting their movie Gone Girl.

David Fincher, director of the highly anticipated drama, is based around the novel of the same name where a woman (Pike) mysteriously disappears on the day of her wedding anniversary. Her husband (Affleck) is the main suspect in her disappearance.

“I don’t know what ‘likable’ is. I know people who are doting parents, who give to charity, drive Priuses, all those things, who are insufferable as*holes,” David told the mag about his choices for his characters. “I like people who get sh*t done.”

Author and screenwriter Gillian Flynn also added, “There was something thrilling about taking this piece of work that I’d spent about two years painstakingly putting together with all its eight million LEGO pieces and take a hammer to it and bash it apart and reassemble it into a movie.”

I was surprised by this photoshoot image because, if you’ve read the book, this pic is perfect. Then I read that the movie Director was the photographer for this.
Of course! More Directors should do this to better control over how their films are delivered + portrayed via Marketing Dept.

Gone girl is an amazing book, in Italy was translated into L’AMORE BUGIARDO: at first I thought it was just a very bad translation of the original title, but after reading it i had to admit it was just genius !

@snapcracklepop: I read the book twice + I’m a huge Fincher fan but I’m so confused as to what the concept behind the cover is. What is it?

# 7

Can someone please explain the concept behind this to me? I don’t get it. I’m a huge fan of the book and I’m so excited for this but I just don’t get it.

# 8

It’s a BEAUTIFUL cover don’t get me wrong! I just don’t see how it’s related to the book.

Looks a lot like the Rolling stone cover with Lennon and Yoko Ono….
. Fincher should have been more original…

Love the book and Fincher is a genius but Affleck can’t act at all. Please can you keep him away from playing in movies forver?

I agree it’s perfect.Sexy and creepy at the same time.Sort of like Dexter. Can’t wait to see it.

Speaking of Ben, where is he? He dropped out of sight over a month ago. Hmmmm…

@SRK: *spoiler*

You sure you read the book? Because everyone thought Amy, Pike’s character, was dead?!!!!!

Ben is the king of Hollywood.

@Obsession: Yes! I read the book … twice! What I meant was I don’t see how this cover relates to the book. But after your comment it made sense, I put two and two together. So thank you for making it clear to me. Now I realize what they’re putting forward and I think it’s perfect.
