noooo!! god she is not ana . she doesn t look like her. :(

    i dont like it.

  • mel

wait!!! that s taylor??? :( the only one i like from the cast is who plays christian..

  • Sam

WTF Dakota looks nothing like Ana Steele in the books. Dakota looks so old and like she’s high or something. Look at those horrible under eye bags. And Ana’s hair is supposed to be long and dark, not short. I hate that they gave her bangs because her forehead is so large. They’re hideous. This isn’t the interview outfit she wears and her hair is in a bun in this scene. These little effortless details they aren’t even trying to get right but they’re important because EL James wrote so vividly for us. This film is bringing the books shame just by what we’ve seen of it alone.

  • Amie

More like 24 going on 40

  • Lauren

Eww she looks sooooo old and worn. Anastasia is fresh-faced and a natural beauty w/ flawless pale skin, BIG blue eyes, and petite and dainty. Christian would not find Dakota attractive and alluring, and she definitely doesn’t look like a virginal, youthful, young lady. She looks like she’s been around the block and then some! She isn’t even pretty like Ana. She’s very homely looking. Im definitely not seeing this film, it will taint the books for me.

  • Sara

@Sam: I know! They’re not doing anything like what’s in the books it seems like. I hate this.

  • Sara

That body double should replace Dakota.

  • Liz

Um if she’s supposed to be playing a 21 year old, innocent, young college girl she wouldn’t be convincing anyone!

  • ina

this is not gonna work,i’m sorry but dakota is simply not good looking, what’s it gonna look like in the movie when Christian tells Ana how beautiful she is,it’s gonna look like a joke! i guess they better leave that part out of the script if they want to make the movie believable.

  • Micah

She’s not Ana Steele one bit! Where’s our young, fresh-faced, doe-eyed, beautiful, long haired, gentle features, petite Ana from the books?? I read Felicity Jones and Emilia Clarke were two of the ladies originally pursued for the role. Gah if only one one of them would’ve worked out. They fit so perfectly. I think Imogen Poots was another one. Seriously, anyone but Dakota!

  • Sav

@Sam: I agree, this isn’t how it is in the books. Dakota is HORRIBLY cast as Anastasia Steele. It’s obvious they settled but will never admit that of course or else they’d be sabotaging their own film. Her hair is way too short, she isn’t attractive, and looks really old. You’re right too Ana doesn’t wear this outfit for the interview and her hair is up. This isn’t the first time they’ve done a scene differently. This team is obviously not using the books as reference material, and the casting director for this film needs to be fired.

  • Sav

    @ina: exactly!!

  • JOblo

Goddamn….it is a movie adaptation! It’s never going to be identical to the book and there’s always going to have not happy people! And sorry but to accept a role in this movie you have to be really game and have a really ordinary career in acting! So they had to deal with what they got! If you want the REAL Anastasia and Christian stick to the crappy book!

  • http://theenchantedboudoir.blogspot.it/ stella

    @JOblo: You’re right ;)

  • Disaster

What is the studio thinking? Are they blind? Is the author so obsessed with Hollywood, she is so keen on ruining her books with this adaptation? This is unbelievable! Dakota doesn’t resemble Ana at all! After James shoved her character descriptions down our throats in every page! The actors cast don’t resemble the book characters, the locations aren’t correct (the contract scene wasn’t at the hotel, but shot at “Christian’s office”), the cars being used in the film don’t match the descriptions in the books. Why are they making this movie again, if they can’t even get a black Audi R8? The funny part, is the producers posting a picture on Twitter watching dailies, and speaking so highly of the director and actors. They want to have us believe that their producing phenomenal work.

  • A

Why are people so obsessed with looks? I’m not bothered by it and I read the books too. I think Dakota will do just fine.

  • Fercat

I think her personality matches up to the character rather than just the looks.

  • Sammy

oh all those ppl who commented. your beloved books are CRAP. Even Angelina Jolie wouldnt be able so save that movie ))))) poor Dakota Should have said NO to this travesty. cant wait to see her in Cymbeline

  • Samantha

    She’s so unattractive

  • Nicole

If J.K Rowling movie harry potter went by the books why can’t el james do it smh They messing up this movie its like they trying to get sex scenes right not the regular scenes smh.

  • Will

How do I put that she looks like a bag of ass, nicely?

  • Abby

@Disaster: AMEN!! Those are all my exact thoughts. Nothing is right and it was already butchered with the cast the chose.nthey couldn’t get a black R8 or the Audi A3 too, don’t know if you’ve seen that yet. They clearly don’t care about even trying to transform the characters either, look how awful Dakota looks and her hair is so short. Are people so blinded by the photos and brainwashed by this team’s constant praise of this film, actors and team that they’re forgetting the real content in the books and what the characters are actually supposed to look like? Like the picture you mentioned, and before when they had to shove Dakota down our throats and overly praised her so much to try and make us think she is the perfect Ana, it makes them look like they’re the opposite of confident in their film. They’re doing it on purpose and its overkill. I can’t believe EL James is allowing this to be her film, she definitely must be so caught up in it all that she’s letting everything slip, and I wouldn’t be surprised if these “professionals” are influencing her.

  • Abby

@Disaster: also the wardrobe and things like that are different too. They clearly need to call this film something else because its not Fifty Shades of Grey.

  • nessa

lol her double looks EXACTLY how I imagined Ana. If that girl had rounder larger doe eyes, she would be perfect. She has the chubby cheeks and the tiny nose, the round face very delicate and youthful. I so want to like Dakota but she really looks old for her age. They couldn’t even get her hair right, not the length or the hair color, I imagined it fuller and thicker,

  • Regina

Her hair is really bad coloured. This could be done better.

  • Mrs B

The key word being ADAPTATION! It’s horrible how degrading a lot of you women can be, to go as far as to call Dakota ugly because she doesn’t fit your Ana Steele standards is pathetic! She is far from ugly! Let’s be honest, it doesn’t matter who was picked for these roles, haters were always going to hate and find fault with every little detail. I myself wasn’t keen on the casting at first because they didn’t fit with the characters I had in mind, but both Dakota and Jamie have grown on me as Ana and Christian, and I think they are a perfect choice.

  • Truth

@Mrs B: She doesnt have flattering features. No one is calling her ugly because she doesn’t fit each of our individual images. We all read the sameeeee description in the book. She does not fit that regardless. No one would’ve had room to complain if they’d cast actors that actually resembled the characters in enough ways. If you find them the perfect actors then it just shows you probable either need to read the books again, or you’re so caught up in the photos and hype over the film you’ve forgotten. Just sayin!

  • greedy producers!!!

@Truth: absolutely agree with you!! people have gotten so caught up in the hype they’ve forgotten the actual story! EXACTLY WHAT THE PRODUCERS WANT!!!!!!!!! the producers are incredibly greedy and no nothing about what women want -they know how badly they f*d up – so they’re shoving SO MUCH BS out there, with the non-stop pictures and the fake ‘what do you think’ articles… Horrible cast. they’ve completely screwed the story!!HORRIBLE!!!!!! there will be many fans that will not attend this movie. theres always a difference between a book and the movie adaptation but this is the complete antithesis of the book! where the F is anna???????

  • Horrible Excuse for Ana

@Mrs B: I didn’t get her character right at all. People have a right to complain because the majority of people who read the books know that besides being pale, she looks nothing like Ana. Dakota does not even have Ana’s main features, (Being short, and having eyes too big for her face) Christian is suppose to look down on her. The whole reason why he liked Ana at first was because she looked very innocent and delicate. Easy to dominate.

  • Ms Angel

I heard her speak in a couple of interviews && she’s a idiot lol
