Lupita Nyong’o knocks it out of the park once again while walking the red carpet at the 2014 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hanger on Thursday (January 16) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 30-year-old actress won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in the movie 12 Years a Slave. Watch her touching acceptance speech below!

Lupita beat out Her‘s Scarlett Johansson, American Hustle‘s Jennifer Lawrence, August: Osage County‘s Julia Roberts, Nebraska‘s June Squibb, and Lee Daniels’ The Butler‘s Oprah Winfrey.

    @Simone: FYI, black women with dark skin tones can wear anything. They have more choices than anyone when it comes to makeup.They can wear the pinks and pastels, as well as the deep reds and oranges. She’s not “clownish.” She looks like a model. In fact, better yet, she is a truly a classy, elegant young lady. Everything I see her wearing looks beautiful and in good taste.
