Liam Payne on 'Duck Dynasty' Tweet Coverage: 'I Can't Do Anything Without Being Judged'

Liam Payne has taken to Twitter again to try and clear up his controversial tweet to Duck Dynasty‘s Willie Robertson that praised his “family values.”

The 20-year-old One Direction singer is not happy with how certain media outlets misconstrued his being a fan of the show for agreeing with everything the stars say or do.

“Oh my god can someone literally not be a fan if a show without bring labeled WTf I bought dinner the other day it made a news story,” Liam wrote. “What I gotta do to please you bastards I’m a 20 year old just living life as you did when u where twenty but in extraordinary circumstances. I can’t do anything without being judged u try that and write about it”

Liam added, “And I know I’m playing into your hands writing these tweets but I’m sick of stupid stories it’s time you all grow up. And write about things that actually matter not what im gunna have for dinner tomorrow or who I’m a fan if real stories. I just watched a show and I liked it as most people do stop sitting in my twitter and do your research #lazyjournos.”

The stars of Duck Dynasty recently came under fire after patriarch Phil Robertson said some anti-gay remarks in an interview. He was quickly suspended from the show, but then A&E lifted the suspension before it had any effect on the series.

“Can’t wait for the call tomorrow where I get told of for cussing had to be said like I said before much worse has happened In the world”

“Pick ur balls up off the floor and get on with it instead of taking advantage of every word said and twisting it for your own gain”

I’m not even trying to be funny, but I literally cannot comprehend any thought in those jumbled tweets. Should have hired a private writing tutor while on the road buddy.

He is actually an amazing guy. He has always been a media target because he has some trouble with fame so they pick him out of the 5 . I see what he was saying and i see how it could be taken wrong. If you know Liam you know he meant no hate for anyone and he would never do that.

  • Amy

    @Passport Stamps:

Exactly. You can see how uneducated he is.

  • Lisa

He is an uneducated ignorant. Go back to school.

  • Maura

I think his first tweet was not phrased well, and instead of apologizing to his fans he went on the defensive and made a bad situation much worse. All he had to say was that he was unaware of the fathers homophobic, racist, and misogynistic views and the whole thing would have gone away. Instead he played the victim card, and set his fans against each other. The level of hate and intolerance being displayed in the 1D fandom right now is truly frightening. Many gay fans and poc feel unwelcome, and many are receiving messages filled with hate.
Liam is a good kid who made a mistake. The ‘fans’ are the ones that have caused the most harm though.
I’m appalled that his PR group has yet to step in and try and fix this.
I honestly expect to see a notice in the next two or three days saying he’s entered rehab.

    The price of fame

  • Sammy

The media did blow it out of proportion, as they do with everything….

  • Asha

Wow, his grammar is not good. I know it’s Twitter and all, but at least make sure you reread what you write before pressing submit.

  • zey

the duck dynast guy said awful things about Chinese people, blacks, and Muslims as well.. Don’t get mad when you send a tweet that reads like an endorsement especially praising it’s “family values” .. the guy was also a serial adulterer too until he found god.. but remained a bigot..

  • Teacher

This guy needs to go back and be home schooled. He apparently didn’t learn spelling or English….and they always say Americans are dumb and uneducated?

  • BubbleBath

So now he wants us to feel sorry for him for being rich and famous?

Learn to THINK and you can avoid all of it.

  • Jordy

He is claiming he doesn’t support everything the people in the show say, but he praised him for his family values, the exact thing that homophobic/racist ass used to justify what he said. Liam clearly is a supporter of what he said, or else he would have just simply said the show was funny and liked it. He is an idiotic child.

    who cares

  • naomii

Yep media culture is getting outta hand. Its literally news when a celeb cusses, goes to the bathroom, shops at walmart, buys a car, kisses his mama et al. Trivial waste. Why are people SO obsessed with celebs?!?!? They bleed,sh*t, just like the rest of us. The creepiest is having sites dedicated to celeb children!!!!

  • Mia

Who are you people throwing around names homophobic racist and then calling other people intolerant … And his tweets are more coherent then what been posted here that includes you, @asha that irony of you criticizing someone else’s grammar.

  • Max

look at that gaysist! trying to undo it all. NOT GONNA WORK!

  • Nick

I look the diversity, I mean the intimidation crowd is at it again

  • Amy

Ahh the tolerant left come to the fore again. Agree with us or else!

  • Liz

According to his sister he didn’t know about what the Duck Dynasty guy said. If that is true, he should have just said: “I apologise, I made a mistake. I did not realise that he had made such comments, and my only intention was to commend them on their family”.

  • Leanne

@Liz: If he’s such a huge fan of the show, how could he not know? It was the biggest news story for like a week. I don’t watch the show and even I knew. Liam is yelling at people to do their research, maybe he should too.

  • Liz

@Leanne: I have no idea. He could have just started watching, but I’ve never watched it either, and I knew. So I don’t know. The whole thing was just proper stupid. But if that was the case, like his sister said, he should have just owned up to it and not go on that rant. Just embarrassing for him.

  • Cathy

@Liz: Yep, he dug himself into a bigger hole with that childish rant trying to make himself look like a victim. When you specifically write “family values”, how are we supposed to interpret it? He knows his tweets are going to go to millions of people, he should be more careful of what he says and not rely on the “leave me alone, don’t you guys have more important stories to write about” argument?? That’s not the point, LIam

  • http://verytrue ASIANS CAN READ MINDS!!!!!!!!!

Asians can hear, and see what you’re visually thinking.
THIS IS NOT A JOKE OR A MEME! This is the absolute complete truth!!!!
Asians hide their mind reading abilities by having completely expressionless faces so they don’t accidentally show facial expressions when people think things they don’t like, find funny, astonishing, etc, and Asians segregate so their not nearly as susceptible to that happening.
Asians also segregate, and are untalkative to avoid accidentally saying things that are similar to what people are thinking and going to say.
All Asians are keeping their mind reading abilities a secret, they don’t want ANYONE to know they can read minds! They value hiding it more than their own lives!!!
Try thinking, and visually picturing things as wild as you can when you are around Asians, and look for Asians who give people dirty/particular looks for what appears to be for completely no reason, it works if you try enough!!!

  • Saffia

Oh dear, talk about your Twitter meltdowns. Clean up on aisle three. He needs to step away from Twitter for awhile or at least make an effort to spell and articulate correctly when he’s using it.

  • Sophie

    @chris: totally agree!

  • Lyssa

I actually applaud him for standing up for himself, something many other celebrities are too scared to do. He didn’t do anything wrong, so he should most definitely not apologize. Media’s just blowing things out of proportion.

  • Al

Why should he apologize. You people are ridiculous . It’s his opinion… if he likes Duck Dynasty, he likes Duck Dynasty. There’s nothing wrong with that.

  • Simone

Typical lefties . Attack and victimize anyone they don’t agree with. No tolerance for anyone.

  • Keanne

The complainers are way too sensitive and need to be told to sit the f-ck down , people have had enough of them.

  • Ann

@Lyssa: I agree. Everyone just apologizing for popularity sake.

  • rio

poor little rich white boy, bad people making him bad for something he said

  • Taking-A-Break

Good for you LP. Just ignore the rest of these butt-heads.

  • VW

Glad he said that,Just hope he want take it all back because he’s managers told him or something like that..

  • b

    A. You are a celebrity (sad) so you are going to be scrutinized for the things you say and do. It’s part of the JOB you signed up for. And 2. You wrote the damn thing on TWITTER. YOU put your words out there for everyone to read and judge and give opinions over. Don’t whine and complain now just because people didn’t like what you had to say. Tough sh!t. You don’t want to be judged, keep your words and opinions to yourself. Otherwise, suck it up and learn to get over it instead of complaining again on your Twitter, especially when you complain in an ignorant rant that has way too many grammatical mistakes.

  • http://cuuuuum seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeex

yall needs to stop hatin .

  • Caroline

Give the guy a break, gosh try to put yourself in his shoes. To have everything you say or do reported to the world that has to be stressful. He is a good guy
