chris ryan…had a good chuckle over that one. thanks jared;)

  • peter

Typo! You mean Chris Pine in the headline, not Chris Ryan! :-)

  • DFR

WOW, they look so hot together! Keira is flawless

  • anon

I’m really wondering now if Chris Pine is gay. There was no love scene or even a romantic kiss in the movie btw Pine and Knightley. There should have at least been a kiss, because in the movie they start as strangers and end up married. They glossed over the entire courtship. That was odd. Hmm…

  • Felice

    Keira looks so dam.n G O R G E O U S

  • Amguy

    Shes pretty

  • Rona

I died laughing with that one scene when they’re in russia, it was classic but i wont spoil it here

  • Cate

Keira’s cheekbones could cut glass! Keira’s overall look is very simple but she looks good. She must have been freezing though.

I wonder what their chemistry is like in the movie. I don’t see much chemistry from them in what I’ve seen.

  • Jopet

Omg. She is stunning in that dress. She totally made up for dressing down at her last few events. Wow.

  • Rona

@Cate: I saw the movie and their chemistry was very nice and effortless! Keiras doing a great job of showing a totally different side of her. From the laggies reviews as well – fantastic reviews on her acting

  • http://www.rollingstone.com Third eye blind

Your ass rocks keira, yo, turn around or side view throw us a bone lol

  • Irish

    Keira looks Very beautiful

  • Gh

    Freezing for the motherland

  • Cyn

Chris and Keira both look good.

I’m an action junkie, so this movie was a plus for me. I loved Chris as Jack Ryan and I think he did a fantastic job. The helicopter scene and the hospital scene made me cringe, so kudos to the special affects and make up crew. Some of the editing threw me off, as some of the scenes didn’t transition well, but I’m happy with the overall result. Good job.

Yes, I’m going to go see it again. :)

  • Gh

@Cate: Like missle tits on her.. COLD

  • O

    What a goddess!

  • Deborah

    Luv the shoes!!!!!

  • Fiona

Jack Ryan : mediocrity is thy name…..

  • Pine Nuts

Love ya Chris!! You’re so huge, HUGE!! I’m really glad for it! Best gene pool Hollywood actor.

  • ain’t pretty

umm pine nuts, are you referring to chris’s forehead? then i agree, sure is huge. lol

  • lola

Keira Knightley has always been beautiful. And she has also looked really pretty without makeup. She’s got good bones. Her facial structure is very different. Her face almost looks flat, but then she has amazing cheekbones, sculpted chin and a perfectly chiseled nose. Her eyes are also pretty. I’m sorry Hollywood didn’t use her beautiful face more often. She has recently been in commercials, but she could have had a cosmetics contract and been featured on more magazine covers.

  • Tina

Something puts me in total awe of Keira. She is just crazily beautiful.

  • Tina

    @lola: Well said

  • Warren

@Pine Nuts: Hope urnot describing the size of his balls

  • The pope here

Keira Knightley is not mortal. She is divinity slumming it on earth for a time.

  • Jamie

    Now everybody knows…Pine can’t carry a movie

  • ah well..

bearding giveth and bearding taketh away…..

  • Nightwish

@Jamie: That is nonsense. Pine is very watchable. Alongside Knightley, he’s the best ive seen him. She makes everyone better. Costner is back in business as prime older talent now. I think he finally shed his curse.

  • Nightwish

I noticed this movie is number one in china and other parts of asia. How can Pine not carry a flick? I think the target market was global for this film, not domestic. Look what film took the top weekend. I weep for this country.

  • Dubbstep_empress

Im sick of this chick coaxing and beckoning me into lesbian seductions

  • Bebe

Way to Jared! This is the face you need on this site… not that chipmunk m. Cyrus or that s.lut kimmy kardashian and for sure not Keira’s cheap wannabe imposter nat portman

    @Nightwish:
“I noticed this movie is number one in china and other parts of asia.”
    LOL
Estimated weekend ticket sales at international theaters (excluding the U.S. and Canada) for films distributed overseas by Hollywood studios, according to Rentrak:
    1. “The Wolf of Wall Street,” $27 million.
    2. “Frozen,” $24.6 million.
    3. “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” $22.2 million.
    4. “Boonie Bears,” $14 million.
I guess doing better than the “Boonie Bears” must mean somethin”
Chris Pine cannot carry a movie. period.
    (China btw was 9.5M)

  • just sayin’

Ride Along at $41M still beats JR domestic + International (39M)
You Pine Nuts need to chill.

  • Nightwish

@get your facts right: Jack Ryan took the number one spot in China with 9.5 million this weekend, and topped the russian and malaysian box offices as well. I’ll play your link boy this once my little idiot..
    http://m.deadline.com/2014/01/international-box-office-wolf-of-wall-street-kills-in-european-debuts-jack-ryan-bows-in-china-walter-mitty-crosses-100m/

  • Nightwish

As for the other countries and rankings, look it up yourself. There are lots of moviegoers besides the us.

  • Joss

@Nightwish: that’s an extremely mediocre number for an opening in China, though. Especially since it opened during a very lackluster week with no actual competition. Not to mention that it was expected to perform better in Russia, which tends to love action movies. It should’ve done WAY more than that. Those numbers are not gonna help it break even.

Only Europe can save this film now because otherwise, Jack Ryan ain’t getting a sequel. I say this as someone who likes Chris Pine. I am not blind enough to see that this movie has underperformed by all standards and I hope it does better in Europe than it has done everywhere else.

  • get your facts right

    @Nightwish:
So I’m your little idiot am I? Ok let’s see who’s the idiot, yeah?
No one refutes your claim that JR was no 1 in China. I have already said that in my post #33. Topped the Russian & Malaysian markets? Who the hell cares? FACT is, I’ll say it AGAIN:
Domestic market No.1 Ride Along $41.2M
International Market No. 1 Wolf of Wall Street $21M
Domestic + International No. 1 Ride Along. $41.2M
Ride Along didn’t open in any of your “favored’ countries. I cringe to think what would have happened to JR if it did. lol
It’s ok to be a fan of Keira and Chris but to argue aimlessly is idiotic.
And here’s the link and I’ll say “I’ll play your link boy this once my little idiot..” Ha!
    http://www.mercurynews.com/movies-dvds-headlines/ci_24945677/ride-along-rolls-into-no-1-spot-at
btw my reply is also for this little gem from you:
” Look what film took the top weekend. I weep for this country.”
Wow, perhaps you should go live in China? lol

  • Atsuko

    Japan love you keira <3!

  • Atsuko

@get your facts right: I want to see how well ride along do in asia and europe. My guess is very bad. No people in china want to watch black people act stupid. Also here japan and in other country. I think film will not even open most place except america. You see.

  • whoa!

    @Atsuko:
” No people in china want to watch black people act stupid. ”
That’s a bit nasty and racist. Do you mean they only like WHITE people acting stupid? Sheesh, what’s with these Keira/Chris fans?

  • Nightwish

@get your facts right: I pointed out that the film was number one in certain countries. You lolled and provided a list of the domestic box office numbers to counter that claim, which completely failed to support your point. You are obviously not a fan of this film nor chris pine and that is your perogative; i am no Pine fanatic myself but have nothing particularly against the dude. My intention was to throw out some encouraging facts about the film to demonstrate that hopefully wont need to be dependant on the us box office numbers, for the benefit of those interested, and suddenly its become a battle between this film and ride along, a film nobody here even mentioned, but while were on the subject, a film that is certain to benefit primarily from us grosses. Did anyone here let out so much as a peep that ‘jack ryan is a much better film’ than ride along, or that jack ryan ‘is doing so much better’ than ride along? You’ve chosen to make that a point of contention because you are obviously anti Pine, anti jack
ryan or serving whatever trollfaggotry whim you were feeling at the
moment. Make your point. Move on.@whoa!: Poor girl makes an observation and calls a box a box and you have to race bait? This is a big world buddy and people of different countries are entitled to their opinions without any regard to your little sensitive ears. stop generalizing pine fans on the basis of one single comment.

  • Nightwish

@Joss: i think the film will make budget but you’re right, it will need big help from europe. I’m rooting for Branagh and others and hope the film will somehow be considered a success. I think Pine will still be a headliner regardless though.

  • get your facts right

    @Nightwish:
Looks like you have a problem in reading/comprehension. So I’ll type this point by point. And I’ll use CAPs too. just to make it easier for you….
    1. I did NOT give you only domestic box office numbers. Go back and CHECK IT OUT.
2.My comment at #33 was in reply to your comment #29. You did NOT “just point out the film was no.1 in certain countries.” have you conveniently forgotten “that is nonsense” in reply to “jamie” and “How can Pine not carry a flick?” “Look what film took the top weekend. I weep for this country”?. All because you are a PIne fan and you’re mad that JR flopped. And what point exactly did I fail here?
2.Jack Ryan is NOT No.1 in the box office (DOMESTIC + INTERNATIONAL). Whether or not I”M A FAN of the actor/film has NOTHING to do with it. Facts are facts. Maybe in your warped sense of loyalty, your favorite actor and his film just has to be No.1???
    3. Your words : “suddenly its become a battle between this film and Ride Along, a film nobody here even mentioned”
the hell? RA got no.1. so WHAT ELSE IS JACK RYAN TO BE COMPARED WITH??? What do you mean RA was not mentioned here? Are we not discussing freaking BOX OFFICE? and the film taking No. 1 cannot be mentioned?! I also find it hilarious that you think I brought up RA because I’m “obviously anti Pine, anti jack ryan or serving whatever trollfaggotry whim you were feeling at the moment” Seriously WTF? Are you some kinda nutcase that can’t handle it when your idol and his film didn’t get top spot? And you have the audacity to tell me to make my point and move on? Why the hell don’t you?

  • whoa!

    @Nightwish:

” No people in china want to watch black people act stupid. Also here japan and in other country.”
This person is from Japan and is talking on behalf of the whole of China, Japan and “other country”? wow, the arrogance! And no one in these “countries” want to watch “black people” act stupid? What about white people? Comedy by white people is just fine according to this moron but no comedy by black people? oh no.
And you call that “an observation and calling a box a box?” and accuse me of race baiting? and call this person a “poor girl”? yeah all because she’s a Jack Ryan fan.
You truly disgust me. I’m done here. jeez!

  • Joss

@Nightwish: in order for a movie to be considered a success it has to make DOUBLE the amount of their budget and that is looking very unlikely at this point. People makes a big deal about Jack Ryan flopping in the States because that is were a huge chunk of most of a movie’s money is made… nowadays, of course, in China, too, but Jack Ryan’s numbers have been pretty mediocre at best there and it’s getting totaled by Despicable Me 2, a movie that was released a week earlier. In other words, it needs to do extraordinarily WELL, like record breaking well, in Europe otherwise it won’t be considered a success. At best, it will merely break even and because, as much as you may like Pine or not, he is hardly Tom Cruise or an A-lister movie star to the general public, so the chances of a sequel lower significantly.

Well, Pine may be a headliner in our hearts, but the reality is that any movie he’s headlined that hasn’t been Trek, whose success cannot be attributed completely to him considering it’s more of an ensemble and it’s an iconic series that was bound to perform well no mater who the headliner was, haven’t be successful – box office wise or critically. Maybe that’ll change but at least Jack Ryan wasn’t the movie to elevate his profile so far.

The worst thing is that Jack Ryan will be blamed on him and maybe Branagh and Costner when a lot of the blame should go to Paramount too but that’s the way the business works.

  • Nightwish

@get your facts right:” And you have the audacity to tell me to make my point and move on? Why the hell don’t you?” – done! The film didnt do as well as some hoped for, lets move on!@Joss: He’ll get another crack at a lead role im sure, and i dont think much will be held against Branagh, who i am a huge fan of.

  • Jussayin

    Peace and love everyone!

  • NotConfusedAnymore

    @The pope here:

Keira is lovely but keep in mind; Divinity never slums! Divinity in the flesh is always hard at work helping, transforming and improving people’s lives. Is she walking on water, feeding the hungry, giving to the poor?

If not she’ s just another hot mortal.
Let’s keep it real and not worship mortals who’s souls are on a journey toward perfection and enlightenment as are the rest of us.

  • Nadine

@NotConfusedAnymore:She’s somethin special. I’d like to hear her with a southern belle accent. That would be sweet!
