Nicole Kidman: 'Grace of Monaco' Pulled from Release Calendar

Fans hoping to see Nicole Kidman‘s work in the film Grace of Monaco are out of luck for now as the movie has been pulled from The Weinstein Company’s release schedule, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film was set to hit theaters on March 14 after being delayed from its original late November 2013 release, but the movie has yet to be delivered to the studio, making it hard to generate marketing materials in time for the release.

“It’s right to struggle, but when you confront an American distributor like Weinstein, not to name names, there is not much you can do,” director Olivier Dahan told a French newspaper after the film’s first delay. “There are two versions of the film for now: mine and his … which I find catastrophic.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK of the delays being made to Grace of Monaco?

Sounds like Congress. Just fight and don’t accomplish anything.

Harvey Weinstein is always overstepping his boundaries. He clearly has Americans pegged as morons with no attention spans. He’s a studio head who should stay away from the editing room. Like Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer, I will wait for the Director’s cut.

# 5

@Jane: Maybe if you order a foreign DVD release. When Harvey re-cuts a movie, he tends to not make the original available. Because I am not stupid, I will not give any of my money to Weinstein. And they STILL wonder why people pirate movies.

# 6

I don’t really understand why filmmakers are still selling their movies to this guy. You KNOW he’ll cut it up. If you’ve made a movie you’re proud of, why the hell would you want to then turn it over to some idiot who will completely ruin it!? He’s been ruining movies and disrespecting consumers for over 20 years now, mostly cutting up great asian movies, to appeal to a wider audience in order to make more money.

Can we just get that first version please. I’m pretty sure Midwest people don’t even know this movie exists. I had no idea that Iowa and Oklahoma commanded such a large percentage of the national box office draw.

# 8

And now I won’t be seeing it. Thanks again, Harvey!

A hearty “THANK YOU” for Harvey Weinstein, for protecting us, the dumb movie-going public, from being enter-f-cking-tained! Because that would be f-cking awful, for us to actually enjoy a foreign flick for the story and acting! Whew! That was a close one, Harv!

to be fair @ 01/23/2014 at 7:11 pm

This movie looks horrible anyway. You can’t polish a ****. I’m not wasting my time with a movie tailored for idiots.

Pfff I hope film makers stop bringing him good movies to be butcherd.

I’ve been looking forward to this movie for a year. Harvey Weinstein has to step in and sh*t all over everything that is good and pure in this world. Harvey respects directors’ artistic freedom — only if they’re named foot fetish Tarantino.

@angryjeff: In other words, Iowans and Oklahomans learn how to use torrents to download the real version.

The movie is obviously good because Weinstein bought it as soon as he could, so why is he intent on ruining it?

@croco: Well said!

and to think Botox Kidman thought this was going to be an Oscar winning vehicle!

This breaking news from the snowy blizzard in NYC is confirmation that somebody got wind of the Invisible Man walking down Main Street in Park City, Utah.

The Queen of BOX OFFICE POISON strikes AGAIN!!!!!!!

This movie probably sucks like the Princess Diana Movie.
Nicole goes from making one bomb to another, does she spend anytime with her kids, not the ones she abandon.

Harvey is a Hero @ 01/23/2014 at 8:16 pm

A hearty “THANK YOU” for Harvey Weinstein, for protecting us, the movie-paying public, from being ripped off and disappointed by another abysmal acting performance by botoxed Nicole Kidman, because that would be f-cking awful, for us to actually have to pay to witness her lousy acting skills in a foreign flick. Whew! That was a close one, Harv!

BOTOXED Queen of the Desert @ 01/23/2014 at 8:19 pm

Kidman is currently in Morocco murdering yet another biopic with her inept acting skills.

Time to retire Granny @ 01/23/2014 at 8:34 pm

Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

@x: Can she be box office poison if her films no longer make it to the box office?

@?: casting hugely unpopular Kidman in ANY movie almost guarantees it will be a box office flop and based on her inglorious track record of 16 consecutive box office bombs, ANY movie she is involved in is doomed before it even hits the cinema in limited release.

when nicole do everyone a favor and retire ?
