Lea Michele Covers 'Teen Vogue' Magazine March 2014

Lea Michele graces the cover of Teen Vogue‘s March 2013 issue, out on newsstands on February 4!

Here’s what the 27-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On her upcoming album: “During Glee, I felt like I was scratching that itch of being an artist. I was at a great place in my life and I was so unbelievably happy—my relationship with Cory [Monteith] made me feel like I could reach for the stars and more. So I was like, ‘I’m going to challenge myself and do this record now.” It’s obviously pop, but I think it shows me off as a singer.’”

On Cory’s favorite song from her upcoming album Louder: “He was such a fan, you don’t understand. He would be like, ‘You’re going to be a pop star! What are we going to do? Are we going to, like, go on the road?’ He would say, ‘This is going to be big!’ And I’d be like, ‘I don’t know.’ He heard every song and gave me his notes on everything. He loved “Battlefield.” I’m getting chills thinking about it. I would say “Burn with You” was his favorite. He came into the studio that day.”

On where she got strength after Cory’s death: “I somehow feel the insane love Cory and I had for each other morphed into this strength that I have right now. There’s just something about knowing he’s watching everything I’m doing and feeling like I have to do everything now not just for me but for him. I also have a safety net below me—if I fall or if it’s too much, my friends and family will be there to catch me.”

I don’t mean to be rude, but Jesus Christ, shut the f*ck up, you b*tch and leave the poor man rest in peace. F**king hell, I’m seriously sick of her talking about him as if she wants everyone to pay attention to her, or Cory in particular.

    essie Says:

woah chill, that’s because they keep asking her those questions, is she supposed to tell them to shut up and not ask. Anyway, it doesn’t even look like her on the cover, they thinned her nose or something.

    Belen Says:

What are they going to ask her? Is Glee the source of much talk? They are always singing old songs.

    Anna Says:

    @Emma: W
She hasn’t spoken about him or his passing that much all!!! She had one interview in Marie Claire and one in this, one TV appearance on Ellen and one radio interview, all to primarily to promote her album. She can’t avoid being asked about him and why shouldn’t she mention him. It is important to talk about and remember those you loved. I think she has been very dignified and respectful. She clearly loved him a lot.

@Anna: Yes of course, that’s why she’s starting to date new men..

    Glee Says:

@Emma: It was actually a PR romance only…he wasn’t into long term relationships with any women. She’s milked it for all it’s worth, and it’s getting annoying. She’s actually had another boyfriend for several months. And why is she in TEEN Vogue, when she’s 27 years old???

    Rose Says:

Ugh, Lea really needs to stop milking Cory’s death. It’s making her look pathetic and desperate. And before anyone says “but she keeps being asked these questions!” PR has to approve of any interview questions before a celebrity responds. Meaning if PR didn’t want Lea to milk Cory’s death they’d tell interviewers that they weren’t allowed to ask questions about him. So yes, she IS milking it. And it’s getting obnoxious as hell.

    Shame Says:

“He would be like, ‘You’re going to be a pop star! What are we going to do? Are we going to, like, go on the road?’”

    Still milking it, I see.

    Angelique Says:

@essie: Asking those questions? Guess what? look at the questions: Oh I know what is your favorite song? her answer? My favorite song is, 100 percent, “You’re Mine.” I listened to it the other day—it was the one song I had the most emotional reaction to, just because that’s my relationship with Cory………
Another question? And now your debut album is about to be released. It’s kind of incredible, huh?… and she answer? ABOUT Cory again…..
If that is no milking I don’t know what it is. ..,,
Poor guy, he is dead but they don’t let him rest in peace…

    @Angelique: The question was:
GROFF: And now your debut album is about to be released. It’s kind of incredible, huh?

LOL, Is so obvious she is trying to answer everything relating to Cory. At the end this is gonna backfire to her. Only her teens fans care about this kind of stuff.

O.K., everybody on this blog is starting to act all sorts of bitter and crazy, I really need to stop looking at comments from now on.

    fameho

    TrueTeller Says:

@Emma: 110$% AGREE! Seriously milking it till the last drop, Lea. Smart woman, thought, At least some idiot who believes “how devastated she is” after Cory’s dead is going to buy her Sh-tty album.

@Pretty Ka: You are one of those who’s buying her album, I believe.

  15. 15
    JustSaying Says:

Seriously? what a fameho, Her last name should be Kardashian.

  16. 16
    Jo Says:

If she had appeared on multiple tv shows and magazines talking purely about his death then that might be milking it but she hasn’t done that. The limited amount of interviews she has done have been very respectful to cory. Not talking about him would be odd and if she did that you would probably criticise her too. She closely associates the album with him because he was so supportive of her making it and there for her through the experience. And since his death her music and this album are helping her through her grief so it’s only natural she would talk about him…and talking about him doesn’t automatically mean she is ‘milking it’
Give the girl a break and go rag on some of the talentless celebs who milk their relationship and children for fame….kardashians for example

    Kelsey Says:

She’s disgusting. I wonder how she sleeps at night knowing she has to exploit the tragic death of her ex-boyfriend in order to get people interested in her album?

  18. 18
    Riz Says:

Lol @ the haters. She has the right to talk about anything she wants if her favorites song is the about cory, then so be it. Lol at these 15 year old haters that always waiting at lea’s post just to post hateful comments. What a great hobby

  19. 19
    mia Says:

    @Riz:

Yeah, especially milking her boyfriend’s death. Good, aye!

    LRB Says:

I’m really saddened by how much hateful anonymity is on these comment sections. How are you benefiting by tearing her down? For the record, I’m speaking totally objectively right now, and while yes, I am a huge fan of Lea, I’m not so infatuated that I’d praise her for something she may do wrong- I do have a conscience (MEANING if I ever noticed her make a legitimate mistake I wouldn’t praise her for it like some fans seem to do with their idols even when they mess up). Anyway, that’s another topic. By any means, in her case, I’ve yet to see that happen.

SO, in this case (and in the few interviews she’s given since Cory’s passing) I do not believe she’s doing anything wrong or ‘milking’ it as many of you seem to think. She’s grieving. A loss is a loss. And each loss is devastating. Every single person deals with grief differently. The thing is, Cory was so clearly a huge part of her life – she spoke to Ellen about how he was her biggest fan and was so excited for her album…so of course she’ll speak of him when the album is mentioned because he was involved in the process and because they cared about each other deeply.

Who are we to say how little or how much is appropriate for her to talk about him? It’s just so unnecessary. It’s hard enough being in the public eye when life is good, but imagine if you lost a brother, best friend, or other loved one and your every move was watched by thousands…what would you do? My thought is that most of us would truthfully say, “I don’t know.”

All I wanted to say was that I feel like leaving such harsh comments unsaid is the best route. You are 100% entitled to your own opinion of Lea (or anyone else), but saying things like she’s “exploiting his death” or that she’s “disgusting” is another story…think about how you would feel if everything hurtful you see on this page about her was said to your face. It would suck. So if you are expecting to be treating well by others, then treat others how you would want to be treated.

I know some of you will read this and say “who does she think she is to tell me this?” I’m really not trying to seem entitled or like a know it all, it’s merely something to think about and I hope I came across in a positive way.

    shannon Says:

good lord, people. She has a right to talk about the man she loved who died unexpectedly less than a year ago. she didn’t talk about him for months afterwards. it’s crazy how much venom you have for a woman who’s talking about a man she loved who none of you knew. it obviously makes her happy to think about him and remember their time together and conversations. her talking about him isn’t going to make him less dead so why does it even matter to any of you?

don’t read her interviews if you don’t like her.

  23. 23
    Jess Says:

For everyone bashing Lea’s interview answers, if you don’t like hearing about Cory, DON’T READ/LISTEN TO HER INTERVIEWS. So what if she’s talking about him? It hasn’t even been a year. He was such a big part of her life and she did this album for HIM.
