Anne V: I Know I'm Pretty, But There Are Things About Myself I Don't Like

Anne V shimmers on the cover of Ocean Drive magazine’s latest issue.

Here’s what the 27-year-old model had to share with the mag:

On dating in the spotlight: “Honestly, it sucks, but it is what it is. People don’t really realize that at the end of the day we all want to be loved. We all want to have normal families and relationships and kids. No one wants to get divorced and have someone create stupid dramas and articles about your relationship.”

On recognizing her beauty: “I’ve been modeling for 12 years and I can do it with my eyes closed. I know I’m pretty. But there are a lot of things that I don’t like about myself. I wish I wasn’t this white. I never get tan. I wish I could eat everything and not put on weight. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have freckles.”

On body issues: “When I was 18, I put on a lot of weight because I was eating pizza and pasta, and I didn’t know how to handle it. I never ate salads in Russia; we didn’t have salads. The only salads we had were tons of mayo in them. It was really hard, and I’ve battled with it for many years.”

People will call her arrogant but I think it’s refreshing to hear an honest answer like this. She’s not drop dead gorgeous but she is a model – she makes a living out of being pretty and there’s no way she wouldn’t think of herself as such. She gets paid tons of money for walking in underwear – only a moron wouldn’t get a clue and yet, many of her fellow models keep blabbering about how they don’t think of themselves as attractive.

Honesty. Very unique in this industry. I respect her for that.

Josephine #2 I totally agree. I think other models are admitting to insecurity that a job like that will give you — being denied because of your looks as well as getting jobs for the same appearance can be confusing until you can deal with not putting your value in the subjectivity of what other people think. You won’t please everyone.

And, true beauty’s are not perfect and in fact often have strange looks, which is why they stand out and don’t look generic.

Very nice girl I think, I like her answer about having to pay attention to what she eats and about just wanting to be loved like everyone.

Ingrid Bergman once was talking very matter of factly about acting and setting up for a scene and she said, “There are no bad angles with my face, so that makes it easier to block the scenes.” She knew she was an extraordinary beauty that was loved by the camera, and wasn’t going to deny it, but at the same time didn’t take it personally one way or the other. It was a fact, like the color of her hair, or her height, nothing she had anything to do with or was any comment on who she was as a person.
I like that from beautiful women. Paulina Porizkova once said that of course she wasn’t perfect, but she was “paid to know how to pose so I hide the flaws and look better than normal, so I can let the clothes and hair be the focus. We’re selling a product, so we have to make it look good, and that’s why we have to look beautiful.”
Gisele poses in ways that make other models envious, holding positions that look normal but aren’t, and is a master at it. That’s why she gets the big bucks.

You’re not that pretty enough to say I’m know I’m pretty…Leave that to the Rihanna’s of the world! Now that’s a beautiful woman!! She can say that!

Secondly, Be proud of Your Whiteness!! Imagine if someone Black said that! Self-Hate is not a good look on you!

She’s cute. Not pretty. Her look is not unique at all. She may have smaller features and photograph well, but her face is nothing to write home about. A million and one girls have a face similar to hers. I’ve seen and met truly beautiful women, and if you give them a compliment, they’ll say thank you, but they do not run around saying, “I’m pretty” or “I’m beautiful.” People who know who they are never have to advertise it. Their looks speak for themselves. I know one girl who was a friend of my sister and she would tell us she was beautiful all the time, but she was actually insecure as heck! She was overweight and big boned. Her feet were big too. But when she wore makeup, she was very attractive in the face. Not pretty at all without it. It would be much more attractive and modest for Anne V to say something like, “I’m okay with the way I look. I don’t try to be anyone else and I’m happy with what God gave me.”

Meh! She looks normal to me

Lol at the haters. She said she’s pretty…obviously she is when she’s a successful model. It’s not like she claimed she’s the best or the greatest a la Kanye. Relax.

Finally a real person who happens to be a model. Models always give these bull—- answers in interviews like they want you to think their life is always great and they always look perfect. Anne V is the real deal. And I totally know how she feels about being pale! Sometimes a girl just wants to be able to get a natural tan! lol

at least she is honest.. BOOM!

To be fair, Russian salad is incredible.

Oh geez,supermodel problems…..

And yeah, you’re white, that’s why you’re a model, dawg. Browns are like about 6 billions of the population.

@B!tch Please: Stop being hateful because you’re behind a computer screen. She wasn’t downing being white. She said she hate being too white in terms of not being able to hold a tan. I get a kick out of people talking s**t about someone they don’t know or will ever know.
