JK Rowling: Harry & Hermoine Should've End Up Together!

J.K. Rowling has opened up about her smash hit “Harry Potter” book series and admits that Harry and Hermoine should have ended up together in the end!

“I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment,” Ms. Rowling shared in the new Wonderland mag issue. “That’s how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.”

She added, “I know, I’m sorry. I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I’m absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility. Am I breaking people’s hearts by saying this? I hope not.”

And it looks like Emma Watson agreed with her too: “I think there are fans out there who know that too and who wonder whether Ron would have really been able to make her happy.”

I knew they were meant to be together, their friendship seemed way more genuine than whatever ron and hermoine had. YESSSS YESS YESSS

Sorry, JK no take backs! Write another installment if you’re so unhappy with how the first seven books turned out.

I myself, however, am a Harry/Luna and Hermione/Draco shipper myself, so haters gun hate.

After all these year you regretted it? Too little to late isn’t it? So If Hermione and Harry, so who should Ron ended up with? What about Ginny? Is this also means Draco also should be with someone else than Astoria? Pansy maybe?

Harry and Ginny belonged together. Harry was Ginny’s first crush, and by marrying Ginny, Harry has been given the loving family he always wanted. That is the perfect ending for Harry. It gives him everything he ever wanted, and it symbolically makes a Harry/Ginny – James/Lily comparison.

Ron might’ve done better with Luna, because I can see Luna as the type to be able to see past Ron’s surface. Also, Mr. Weasly would’ve probably found Luna to be interesting as a daughter in law. He likes muggle things, and Luna’s family has always collected strange and unusual objects.

I firmly ship Hermione with Krum. Krum was the first to see past the smart girl exterior. He was the first to make Hermione feel special and beautiful. She glowed when he showered attention on her. It’s a shame Hermione dumped him for Ron, which I never really understood, since up to that point, she never showed any romantic interest in Ron at all.

harry wasn’t gay?

What? Harry? It had would been too cliche

@breezedash:

I agree. It would be a terrible cliche. One of the things I like about HP series is that it shows a true friendship between a man and a woman is possible. Harry and Hermione are perfect together – as friends and why ruin that?

tbh i was surprised she didn’t end up with harry. pls don’t hate me. i kinda agree with jk rowling – it should have been harry and hermione.

Why bother saying this now? If she wants attention so badly then go write another book.

Glad to hear her say this. I never believed or accepted the Hermoine-Ron and Harry-Ginny couplings. Also, in the films, Emma seemed to have much more romantic chemistry with Daniel than Rupert.

Both never mention the name Harry. they both talk about how Hermoine and Ron would have had problems in their marriage. thats all. why do newspaper around the world imply that they meant something else?

wait for the whole interview before you attack them.

Ron and Hermione were obviously going to get together, right from the first book. I agree that it makes no sense to take this back now, years later. I think she was too influenced by those films which turned Ron into a bumbling fool and Hermione into a perfect heroine.

@r:
Did you read the book? Up until book 5, Hermione is heroine before JKR turned her into idiot girl in book 6 in order to fit with dumb bozo Ron.

I disagree. I think Hermione and Ron are perfect together, they’ve always spent time together and they families got together and I feel like Harry has always been “left out”, plus that they argue alot doesn’t mean they aren’t meant to be together , there’s no relationship without arguments. Harry and Hermione make very good friends. I think Ron’s way of flirting is making Hermione mad . I’m not mad at her opinion tho, but it’d be boring and expecting if Harry ended up with Hermione.

Why do they HAVE to end up with anybody? I always thought Harry and Ginny made sense because he would have a loving family with her. But Hermione and ron and all the others? It was not necessary IMO. Hermione was perfect the way she was… there was no need for her finding the one true love… such stereotype. It could have been an open ending for her love life and everybody could have used their imagination. Strong characters don’t need a love interest to keep them interesting.

Hermione and Prof. Snape–during detention.
Because she was SAUCY in potions class.

@Missy:

dramione ftw

@r:

Ron was only dumb in the movies, thanks to the actor.

I thought that Ron/hermione was too forced. you could see that she didn’t even like him.

Haters Suck! @ 02/02/2014 at 11:09 am

The only way I could’ve seen that working is by putting Harry and hermione together right away and not stretching it over 7 books. Otherwise it would’ve been too predictable. Ron and hermione may not have been a perfect fit but I think it worked. But I think Harry and Ginny was great.

Disgruntled Sleepyhead @ 02/02/2014 at 12:19 pm

I personally think she should have gone off with Viktor Krum when it was all over :)

she should have ended up with draco malfoy

@YEESSSS: No. This is publicity ****. You Harmony fans, ugh.

eh. I wanted Hermione with an Open Love interest, Ron with Luna and Harry with an Open Love interest.
But whatever. Publicity is publicity, and Rowling’s too late now anyway.
