Philip Seymour Hoffman - Dead from Apparent Drug Overdose

Philip Seymour Hoffman has died from an apparent drug overdose, according to Deadline.

The NYPD were called to the scene by one of the 46-year-old actor’s close friends, who found him dead in the bathroom of his apartment this morning at 11:30 am.

An autopsy will be performed on Philip to determine the cause of death and results will come back in a few weeks.

Philip leaves behind son, Cooper Alexander, born in March 2003, and two daughters, Tallulah, born in November 2006, and Willa, born in October 2008, who he shared with costume designer Mimi O’Donnell. Philip and Mimi met while working on his directed play In Arabia We’d All Be Kings in 1999.

OMG. What a terrible, terrible loss. We need to educate people about the risks of drugs…and do so in a way that this not punitive. So very, very sad about this.

And people still want to see drugs as something legal. Bravo! How many more dead actors will it take to realize that DRUGS ARE EVIL.

my family is devastated, my uncle is one of his best friends and we’re stunned because he was truly trying to get better for the sake of his kids and Mimi, he wanted to end this once and for all, he wanted to give his kids a good life and not let his personal demons influence them in the slightest. This was completely out of his control and it’s heartbreaking when this man is the epitome of a true thespian and a very kind soul to others. R.I.P. Philip :(

Thought he had won the battle with his demons. So sad. Such a waste. He was such a talent and genuinely kind man.

Omg!!! Another great person who is with the angels. God LOVE and watch over his family. May he rest in peace AND DON’T DO DRUGS!!! THEY ARE A WASTE OF A LIFE AND TOO MANY PPL DIE OF THEM!!! DON’T EVEN DARE TO SAY YOLO CUZ ALL IT MEANS TO MANY PPL IS TO DO THINGS THEY NEVER WOULD. CARE FOR YOURSELF YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE!

@Lesson?:

No one has ever wanted Heroin to be legal. Pay respect or shut up with such ignorance.
