Excellent! I’ll confess to not being a big fan of the genre, but then I wasn’t a Southland fan either. I watched for Ben and I will again. No doubt. Great to see Ben getting the lead. Whatever he’s in, I’m on board.

Terrific news, and I’m not someone who’d watch this kind of show normally either. I was really hoping that the exclusive deal Ben and Warner Bros. inked meant that a new series was coming soon. If Ben and Bruno Heller couldn’t do The Advocates together from last spring, then I’ll take this. Congrats to Ben! The Swimmer starts filming soon, so he’ll be busy.

I had high hopes for The Advocates too, but if Ben’s back on TV by next season then I’m a happy camper. Glad to hear it and congrats to Ben. Hard work, skill, talent, the right attitude and priorities should pay off. He’s been underrated and I hope this is his chance to shine. Onward!

Normally, I’d give anything Gotham verse a pass right off, but this makes me smile big time! Awesome news for Ben. Can’t wait to see him back on TV soon.

Ben’s got an amazing way of conveying so much with his eyes or face so I know the acting will be top notch. The question is how about the writing? I sort of stuck with Southland for Ben’s sake, but had major problems with the writing and character assassinations as that progressed. It sure made it a challenge. I never would have watched except for Ben and I never would have given this a look. It just made my must see list. Congratulations to Ben for the role and I hope he can take the ball and run with it.

I know nothing about Gotham and Batman and the total story, but if it’s less comic book characters and more origin, it should be more realistic and less fantasy. Besides, if Ben’s the main character, I wouldn’t miss it. Count me in. Let’s see, Goodbye World is out in April, Ben will be filming The Swimmer this summer and this is good to go for TV in the fall. Terrific! I’m still sorry that The Advocates didn’t get picked up, but this is great news too. Congrats, Ben!

I never thought I’d say this, but I’m looking forward to a cop show and one that has links to the Batman saga too. Ben’s an excellent actor who brings the perfect combo of emotional and physical, disappearing into characters and making them real. Dialogue is like an afterthought. I wasn’t thrilled with Southland as a show, and liked it best early on, so I hope this is the ticket for Ben.

Didn’t see this coming, but if Ben’s in the lead, I give it 2 thumbs up! It’s definitely time that he got his chance to carry a show, hopefully an adult show, and develop a good, fascinating character. I’ve never been interested in the Gotham and Batman stories, but this changes everything. I’ll be hoping this is heavy on the character with strong stories and not a rehash of unbelievable comic angles. Very pleased for Ben! He’ll rock a well-written character and can elevate even a marginally written one to new levels. Thanks for the word, JJ.

Ben’s terrific and it’s time that he got to be top dog, but also time for better luck with a show. Both The O.C. and Southland started big and burned through material way too fast, missing so many golden opportunities. I wished that Southland hadn’t had the network issues that were the beginning of the end. Smooth sailing with this, a solid team and best of luck. If Ben’s there, I’m tuning in. He won’t be overlooked in a cast that can’t find balance either. I know the concept isn’t new and they’re riding that current wave, but if anyone can make a character a standout, it’s Ben.

The Gotham part means nothing to me, but most excellent news about Ben’s new gig! Fingers crossed about the quality of the show itself, but very pleased that Ben will be leading the lineup. More people should get to see just how talented he is. Thanks, Jared.

I’m not sure this is the kind of vehicle I’d have chosen for him, but I hope he enjoys the ride and it takes him to some great places. So, yeah, excited that Ben’s starring in Gotham. I’d say the same whatever the name of the show!

You bet! I was waiting to get the word on The Advocates after seeing pics from that pilot here, but I’ll take this. Bottom line, Ben should be back on TV and in a good lead role. He’s got what it takes. I also respect his commitment to causes and social justice, done quietly behind the scenes.

I’ve had to find out what this world and show are about because I’ve never seen Batman, so now I’m hoping that Ben won’t be trapped into that hideous mustache and glasses look. After looking at pics of a much older Gordon, I laughed and cringed thinking of making Ben look like that. That would be a nasty distraction, especially the way that Ben acts so much with his face and expressions. I’ll cross my fingers that this young Gordon has the clean shaven look.

Most of all, congratulations to Ben. It’s time for more audiences to see what you can do.
