'The Lego Movie' Smashes Weekend Box Office Over George Clooney's 'The Monuments Men'

The Lego Movie opened big at its first weekend at the box office with a whopping $69.1 million gross, according to THR.

The flick stars the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, and Morgan Freeman, and is the second biggest opening of all time for the month of February.

George Clooney‘s star-studded film The Monuments Men came in at No. 2 with $22.7 million earned. The movie boasts a cast of Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, and Cate Blanchett.

The buddy-cop comedy Ride Along stayed strong in third place with an additional $9.4 million, bringing its total to $105.2 million.

Rounding out the top five were Disney’s Frozen and Lone Survivor, bringing in $6.9 million and $5.7 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Vampire Academy, starring Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry, and Dominic Sherwood, came in below expectations at No. 7 with $4.1 million.
