So sad to have to say goodbye to another great talent. I grew up watching The Waltons and was even named after his beautiful, strong, independent wife, Mrs. Walton. When you grow up watching a show like this, they become part of your life and childhood, and it hurts to say goodbye. In Walton fashion, I say, “Goodnight Ralph Waite.”

Oh that is so sad. I wonder if the writers of Bones & NCIS will pay a tribute to him considering he played the father of both Booth & Gibbs, who are the main male figure in their respective TV shows. I really liked him in both. RIP Mr. Waite

My heart is sad … I grew up watching The Waltons and never missed a single episode. I can remember my Nana making my sister and me ice cream sundaes while we watched the show … such fond memories from childhood. Ralph seemed like such a genuinely kind man – he was great as Daddy Walton. God bless his family … he was a great actor.
