Cate Blanchett Dedicates BAFTA to Late Philip Seymour Hoffman
Cate Blanchett smiles at all of her fans as she lands at the airport on Tuesday (February 18) in Sydney, Australia.
The 44-year-old Blue Jasmine actress won a prestigious BAFTA over the weekend for her work in the film.
“I would like to dedicate this to an actor who has been a continual, profound touchstone for me, a monumental presence who is now so sadly in absence: the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman,” Cate said in her acceptance speech.
“Phil, your monumental talent, your unflinching quest for truth both in art and in life will be missed by so many people,” Cate added. “You raised the bar continually. Phil, buddy, this is for you, you bastard. Hope you’re proud.”
