Seth Rogen Testifies for Alzheimer's, Senators Don't Show Up

Seth Rogen speaks before a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee Hearing on the economics and current state of research of Alzheimer’s disease treatment and prevention on Wednesday (February 26) in Washington, D.C.

Despite the cause being extremely important, it seems many members of the senate didn’t think it was as only two senators showed up!

“All those empty seats are senators who are not prioritizing Alzheimer’s. Unless more noise is made, it won’t change,” Seth tweeted. We agree!!!

    Go Seth! Thanks for raising awareness for Alzheimer’s!

  • Drake

    Awesome Seth I’ve gained new found respect

  • Mona

    @Daniella Exactly!

  • MichaelS

    Obviously Danielle is not very knowledgeable about Senate Hearings. There are numerous speakers that are asked to speak before a specific committee on a particular day, Rogen, like all the other speakers ASKED to speak based on their expertise, has dedicated his time, energy and pocketbook to helping eradicate the pain and suffering of a terrible disease. That is his expertise, in addition to having a member of his family suffering from Alzheimer’s. What is it exactly that you do Danielle that you are questioning Seth Rogen???

  • MichaelS

    I also would like to know the value Mona adds to the World every day.

  • courtney

    it’s disgusting that those senators skipped this hearing safely bet if it were Joanne Woodward or Nancy Reagan they wouldn’t have pulled that shit. admire him for standing up for this many in this generation wouldn’t risk ridicule to shine a spotlight on something as important as Alzheimer’s disease especially so close to Oscar time

  • well done

    Major respect for him. My grandmother has and it is a everyday struggle, , it is so important to brings awareness to the subject

  • Verity

    If it’s not going to line their pockets, why would they bother. Welcome to Washington.

  • bobo the clown

    Wouldn’t it be completely ironic if those senators who did not show up, all ended up suffering from Alzheimer’s? Seems to be Karma can get nasty at times.

  • kelli

    perhaps the senators are all so old they forgot to show up.

    but I think it was more about the speaker than the subject

  • nell

    I’m proud of him for doing this. I have to blame the Alzheimers people for not publicizing this and making sure the politicians show up. It wasn’t his fault they didn’t come. It sounds like it wasn’t well organized. My father had Alzheimer’s. It is a terrible terrible disease and it hurts the whole family. He broke my mother’s heart when he didn’t know her anymore. We all felt sad when he couldn’t recognize us, but it was hardest for her.

  • Josh

    @MichaelS:

    LOL

    my guess is Mona and Daniella are so ugly even seth rogen wouldnt sleep with them.

  • jack

    @Daniella:

    wow what a sad pack. there are definitely people that are in the articles in life, and then people that are in the comments. thanks daniella for reminding us of those.

  • Anne

    I like my actors where they belong…..on the screen.

  • cate

    Aww that’s very disappointing from the senators but my respect to Rogen for his support into raising awareness and the research of such a terrible disease. I actually wasan’t aware he was so involved. I’ve always liked him the most out of the comedy crew he regularly works with but this definitely raises my respect for him too.

  • Domino

    @Anne: THIS!!! Completely agree.

  • http://organicsulfurstudy.com Patrick McGean

    Seth, the government is who caused Alzheimer’s with the use of synthetic chemical fertilizers, if you would like to know people like your mother in law
    to come back add organic sulfur, a crystal food to their diet and air out the
    guest room.

    @Daniella:

    Seth wasn’t the only speaker. Among several was also a former Congressman Moore who now also has Alzheimer’s, pretty disrespectful.
