Lupita Nyong'o - Oscars 2014 Red Carpet

Lupita Nyong’o looks absolutely amazing like she always does while walking the red carpet at the 2014 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (March 2) in Hollywood.

The 31-year-old actress, who just celebrated her birthday yesterday, is nominated this evening for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her work in the film 12 Years a Slave.

  • Tiana

  • lana

    This look reminds me of Cinderella, with the color of her dress and her hair style.

  • Stacked

    Poopeata showing off her bee stings

    OMG she looks incredible. This is one of the best Oscar dresses – ever.

  • Lylian

  • amelie

    she always looks stunning & it’s a very pretty dress. i wish she would have gone for a bolder colour or style like she did at the golden globes. this is a little bit “safe” so i’m a little disappointed.

  • Lylian

    I posted a comment on Lupita’s dress earlier but it didn’t come out. So, going to try again.
    Lupita looks LOVELY!

  • Sheyenne

    Best Dressed!!!!

  • renata

    That’s the truth. I’m not seeing anybody black right now.

  • Alex

    She looks gorgeous

  • sdfspm

    I love the way she dresses, but wish she would stay away from dresses that are suppose to have cleavage because she is flat chested.

  • towanda

    @renata: WTF are you talking

  • Verity

    @Lylian: Thank you!

  • Verity

    @towanda: Nonsense, don’t even bother.

    as far as i’m aware they don’t have arrival times at the oscars like they do at other ceremonies. traditionally the bigger stars always arrive at the last minute (particularly those that don’t want to do many interviews). first time nominees like lupita are always the first on the red carpet so that they can “soak up” the atmosphere. when jennifer lawrence was first nominated a few years ago she was literally the first person on the carpet.

  • Bruno

    She’s got no boobs.

    best dressed, wow. its like a modern cinderella dress, she looks breathtaking :D

  • kelli

    I have liked every look of hers except this. it swallows her up and only highlights her lack of chest/breasts. so many of her dresses are stunning, this isn’t, imo

  • groundcontrol

    Perfect and she helped design it. On film the dress material just flows beautifully.
    It’s sophisticated yet sweet.

  • Tracy

    Wow, she looks like a princess! GORGEOUS!!

  • Oh Yeah!!!

    @jelly: She does look like Cinderella! So Beautiful!!!! I hope she wins!

    I’m disappointed. She usually is a trend setter. This dress has been done before at the Oscars. The lack of color is such a let down.

  • Getrealandrealfast

    Hollywood makes me sick! This thang is ugly and I don’t care how many comments I get, it looks like a man, his high top fade is better than kid and play, he has pecs with a scar in the middle of his chest, that color is horrible next to his skin tone but I guess it needed something to show up, what is up with the hair band pushing back it’s hair back with grease and water, and please, stop it with the love affair hard on with the foreign Blacks! Hollywood hasn’t stop being obsessed with them while ruining the image of Black Americans in the processed. Just listen to Marlon Brando on the Dick Cavett show! We haven’t recovered – just got worse and slowly faded in the background…

  • Jessie

    besides the dip in the front, the color isn’t that great on her.

    Once more, a zero audience telecast that no one watched of movies with zero inflated box-office figures that no one went to see. Award shows for movies and music that either no one is seeing or they are downloading for free. An industry of nothing, and nothing to show for it.

    Lupita’s dress was stunning and so is she. However, it would have been much more flattering if it had a higher boat neck (think Audrey Hepburn). A woman needs a little bit of cleavage to carry off a dress like that. Otherwise, it was perfection.

  • Cate

    She looked lovely. Gorgeous dress especially in motion and the headband was cute. The look did remind me a bit of Natalie Portman’s incredible Lanvin dress with headband the year she was first nominated.
