I’ll have everyone know I rooted for her. So I’m not racists. I also have had a black friend.

  • Avery

Hollywood is so pathetic , why did the give her a standing ovation, she was the front runner, she is the 4 th black actress in the last 8 years to win best supporting actress Oscar…. No other winner got a standing ovation , especially a first time winner ..such a pandering bunch losers.

  • Effy

All you haters are ticked because you’re too lazy to go an achieve anything. Good for her win, she deserved it and she looks perfectly fine.

  • willy_wanker

Yessss!!! I don’t know though why she told the story about “no matter where you come from…”. She comes from a powerful and relatively wealthy family.

  • dang

    @willy_wanker:
    exactly
    she is full of crap

  • puravik

    Congratulations!

    Once again stunning dress.

Lupita, you are such a GREAT role model to many young people out there. I am so proud of you. Thanks for your great job and I am hoping to see you win more Oscar award. So proud.

  • sarah godwin

@<a ?!"Commercials?" If brilliant YALE-educated Lupita decides to do commercials, it won't be because that's all she can do! Jeepers, Viola Davis didn't even win after being nominated and she snagged a role starring opposite Harrison Ford in the big-budget sci-fi film, ENDER'S GAME, among others.

    @<a href="/2014/03/02/lupita-nyongo-oscars-acceptance-speec

@Dang, Lupits could have as easily been talking about coming from different places geographically as much as anything. Why so cynical?

  • mavis

You touches souls girl God bless you even more

  • armavirum

um, Avery, THREE out of the FOUR acting winners got standing ovations. you may be a racist but at least get your facts right

  • armavirum

Avery get your facts right. We can’t do much about your racism but we can about the actual FACTS: three out of the 4 acting winners got standing o’s — Jared Leto was the only one that didn’t. Grow up.
