Oscars Ratings Rise to 10 Year High in Viewership for 2014!

Congratulations to Ellen DeGeneres and the team behind the 2014 Academy Awards – it reached a ten year high in viewership!

It is estimated that 43 million people tuned in last night to watch Ellen host for the second time, up from the 40.3 million who watched last year with host Seth MacFarlane, according to THR.

This is the highest amount of viewers for an Oscars broadcast since 2004 when The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King swept the awards show.

We can’t wait to find out who is going to be hosting next year, as well as what the major films in contention are going to be. Only 52 more weeks to go!

DID YOU WATCH Ellen DeGeneres host the 2014 Oscars?
