Looking good! Excellent to get a first look and see Ben in action. I’m not a Batman kind of fan, but I’m really looking forward to seeing Ben back on TV. Thanks for these and keep ‘em coming!

  • game on

I know Ben did all of his stunts for Southland, and some were pretty intense. Looks like more action here, but I hope there’s good, consistent writing. Time for him to get something to really sink his teeth into. I don’t about a Gotham and Batman kind of focus, but I just want to see what Ben will do with a good role and character to explore. Thanks for the first look, JJ! Bring it on, Ben!

I always like Ben’s quiet, understated scenes because he does so much with the details, but this kind of show has to have the physical too. Besides, I’m sure it’s fun for him and he’s got the athletic chops to go with the brains. Thanks for the preview! When I saw what a much older Gordon looked like, I was worried they might go for a bad parody. So glad they didn’t try to make Ben a young lookalike. This is much better than anything distracting and aging that hides his face. I hope it’s a good sign that this will be about the character and personality and not relying on props to just copy a comic book. Wishing Ben every success and hoping he’s enjoying the new gig.

Thanks for the preview, Jared! I have to say, big relief that there’s no nasty mustache. After I saw what Gordon looked like at over 50, I hoped they wouldn’t go there. Way too early in the game, nothing to do with stories, and just plain ugly. Hopefully, this means they’re making a show that’s head and shoulders above a procedural comic and about creating a really compelling character. From the description I saw, he’ll have a lot to contend with coming to terms with the world and the people he’s dealing with. It looks like Ben’s off to a running start. The superhero connection is a turn off, but being able to watch Ben easily cancels that out.

Always great to see Ben! Fine form, I’d say. Even if it’s Gotham and that cast of characters, definitely a must see to watch Ben every week. Thanks for the pics, Just Jared. Any word on the movies Ben’s got coming out and when he starts work on The Swimmer?

Little cold on the rooftops in NY? Ben’s got the game face on and the intensity. Flashback to some of the stunts he did that won Emmys on Southland, just no major jumps or brutal battles. Yet. Fingers crossed for good writing and personal stories besides crime fighting. Phew for no creepy mustache. That could be very hard to take. After seeing sketches of a 50 or 60 yr. old Gordon, I had to wonder. A young guy should have a different look. Thx for all of these, Jared. Keep up the good work, Ben!

  • way2go

Nice! Ben’s got that 110% effort written all over him. I’d never give anything hero or crime verse a second look, but I already made one big exception for Ben with Southland. Here comes another. Looking forward to bigger and better things, Ben!

Always good to see him doing work!

Agree with all the comments here. Hope he gets given the chance to shine because we all know what he can achieve given the opportunity!

    Thanks Jared.

Right there with you! Can’t wait to see Ben in this latest show. He’s got that rare combo of smarts, skills, work ethic, likability and the “it” factor. Thanks, Jared for this advanced look.

Ben can and will most definitely shine when he has the opportunity. Let’s hope this is it. I also hope Gotham isn’t sensational or over the top and all about the crime fighting. Ben’s character on Southland had a really fascinating and compelling personal background that was crying to be explored and developed but it got dropped early and forgotten. He would have nailed that.

Thanks for the action sequence unfolding and a few behind the scene shots too, Jared. Ben brings the physical and emotional 1-2 punch.

Love Ben. He quietly does great work in front of the camera and many good works without fanfare away from the cameras.

Thanks If these, Jared. If they’re anything to go by, I like how his Gordon looks so far, like a character and not a caricature of the 50-whatever-year-old version. Huge sigh of relief not to see that nasty distracting mustache or glasses from the future, much older version in comics and movies. I hope this is the great TV role that Ben deserves to show his top game and open more doors.

  • ontheball

Excellent! I’ll watch a show about cops and crime to see Ben. It won’t be the first time. I just hope there’s a lot more to it and more to Gordon.

Intense is right. Thanks for posting, JJ.

You’ve summed it up. I hope this challenges Ben, he enjoys it and it’s also a stepping stone. I’d love to see him introduce and develop a really compelling character. He can work magic with very little, so he’d be amazing with a lot. Thanks, Jared. It’s a bonus to have so many in a row.

Not my first kind of show choice for Ben, but love his trademark hustle and intensity he’s got going. Crossing fingers that Gotham will have plenty of personal and emotional focus, right in Ben’s wheelhouse with the action.
