Russell Crowe's Meeting with the Pope Turned Down by Vatican

Russell Crowe hits the blue carpet for the premiere of his new film Noah on Monday evening (March 17) at the October Cinema Theatre in Moscow, Russia.

The 49-year-old actor was seen looking much more casual in a blue shirt and jeans earlier in the day while attending a photo call.

Russell was hoping to have a meeting with Pope Francis this week while bringing the movie to Italy, but Paramount Pictures was not able to schedule a meeting as the Vatican thought that his “appearance in St. Peter’s Square could disrupt and complicate the event because he is such a well-known star,” according to THR.
