'Frozen' Sells 3.2 Million Blu-ray/DVDs in First Day, Breaks Amazon & Digital Records

The phenomenon that is the animated movie Frozen keeps on moving at full speed ahead and now has broken some home entertainment records!

The movie, which features the voices of Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell, was released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 18 and sold 3.2 million units in the first day of release, including pre-orders. The film was also released on digital HD back on February 25 and quickly became the fastest-selling digital release of all time.

That’s not the only place Frozen is breaking records. It has already become the bestselling kids’ movie of all time for online retailer Amazon.com based on just pre-orders alone!

Frozen‘s soundtrack is back on top of the Billboard 200 chart for its sixth non-consecutive week and its sales tally has reached more than 1.4 million units. It has also been streamed on Spotify more than 100 million times, according to THR.

Idina also just broke a record by becoming the first Tony Award winner to have a song chart in the Billboard Hot 100‘s top ten with her smash hit “Let It Go”!
