Jennifer Lawrence's Full Lip-Sync Scene in 'American Hustle' - Watch Now!

One of our favorite moments of Jennifer Lawrence‘s Oscar-nominated performance in American Hustle was when her character Roselyn Rosenfeld lip-synced the words to Santana‘s song “Evil Ways” and now we have the full uncut clip!

The clip is featured as a bonus on the American Hustle Blu-ray and DVD, which is in stores now.

Director David O. Russell filmed the scene in one continuous take and Jennifer is absolutely amazing in the clip. We wish the full scene was in the actual movie, but at least we get to see it now!

    Wurry Says:

I thought that they could have deleted it altogether to be honest. I did like the movie though.

Horrible, completely overacting. The Oscars are a joke, but then what can you expect from an academy that gave an award to Julia Roberts over Ellen Burstyn.

    sasha Says:

These days whoever does an extreme diet or plays an insane person gets nominated or gets an oscar.
Playing insane is easy, playing normal is difficult!

    Annabelle Says:

Still think the one in the movie is funnier

    day Says:

AH was overrated, good acting though there was some overacting, but definitely a bad script.

    GFW Says:

The most embarrassing cringe-worthy insulting scene to the 1970s, and all working or struggling actors, ever born.
“I don’t prepare [for my roles].” It hows, trust me. It shows way more than you can ever imagine.

    mitch Says:

this was an embarrassment of 70′s based movies.

    Cate Says:

The hyperbole and overpraising surrounding everything thing Lawrence does is getting really annoying. What’s so “absolutely amazing” about her lip synching crazily to a song? I’m pretty sure nearly everyone has goofed around to a song with the speakers turned up loud at home. Award nominations for all of us!

    SS Says:

I think it works because it conveys her insanity and helplessness all at the same time. We all used music to fill the gaps in our personality, one way or the other. This externalizes it perfectly. Also, the artificial absurdity of the scene, with her son watching impassively.

Also, so much J Law hatred. Tsk, tsk, get over yourselves.

    Whatevahmang Says:

@SS: That scene just wasn’t good. I think she was over doing it. This coming from a Jennifer Lawrence fan.

She was MUCH better and authentic in Silver Linings Playbook and Catching Fire.

    Courtney Says:

Can’t wait for Jennifers hair to grow back. I bet she misses whipping her head/hair.

  17. 17
    Annabelle Says:

@SS: As Christian Bale questioned DOR when Jennifer L was cast, the actress playing the character maybe should have been older. Then I think the depth and complexity you mentioned in your comments would have been portrayed more effectively and we would’by have to dig for it and explain to people in the comments section of blogs. Lupita really raised the bar for supporting actresses. Jennifer is a great actress but not in AH. She should have won the Oscar for Winter’s Bone.

    new Says:

I just realized this and the “live and let die” scene in the movie are both bad rip-offs of that scene Cate Banchett did in Bandits singing “I need a hero”.

  19. 19
    LaCroix Says:

Lawrence is straight up overrated. that is all.

  20. 20
    flynn Says:

@Cate: THANK YOU, this is exactly what the media does with jennifer, like the littlest thing she does has to be mentioned and everybody has to be like “OMG this is the best thing ever, she’s amazing as usual.” when it’s just getting nauseating cause nothing that Jennifer does is a big deal. lots of actors have done lip-synching scenes, this isn’t anything special or mind-blowing at all, just overacting done here. Her PR team is a joke.

    Mel Says:

I wonder how much was paid to have this posted. I’m so feed up with this overacting actress and all the nonsense that it’s always leaving her mouth.

  22. 22
    Original Says:

Some sort of cross reference to what struggling actors attain, reinstated by likes of ‘big bang theory’.

  23. 23
    Lala Says:

Lol… one of my fav scene)). Ok, every scene with her in that movie was my favorite. She’s so adorable and cute! <3<3<3

  24. 24
    hugfuga Says:

she is a bore and silly puppet, cannot take her serious, i had to turn that m ovie off she ruined it for me , sorry !

  25. 25
    pom Says:

@Lala: more like contrived PR exposure than cute. people want to bring down lupita saying that lupita is overexposed when in reality, lupita is a quiet girl that keeps to herself but Jennifer on the other hand is being shoved down our throats even after awards season is finished and it doesn’t help that Jennifer does enjoy the attention and fawning from the media, it’s irritating.
