Benedict Cumberbatch Lands Leading 'Hamlet' Role for London Stage Play!

Benedict Cumberbatch suits up as the host for the 2014 Laureus World Sports Awards held at the Istana Budaya Theatre on Wednesday (March 26) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 37-year-old actor was joined at the big event by Jamie Foxx and Daniel Bruhl.

It was just announced that Benedict has joined the cast of Hamlet in the title role Barbican Theatre in London, the BBC reports. Benedict will star in the play from August to October 2015.

“It’s a role I’ve been interested in for a long time,” Benedict told the Daily Telegraph in 2012 about the show. “I don’t know if there is such a thing as a right age to play the part, but 36 or 37 seems appropriate to me.”
