Ellen Page Tweets Clever Response to Anti-Gay Pastor!

Ellen Page is geek chic while grabbing a bite to eat at a local vegan restaurant with a gal pal on Friday (March 28) in West Hollywood, Calif.

Earlier in the week, the 27-year-old Canadian actress was spotted enjoying a night out with Kate Mara after rumors swirled that the two could be starring in the next season of HBO’s True Detective.

I support marriage for everyone but sometimes you have to let things go. Everyone has a right to their set of beliefs and you have to be the bigger person and just do what you know is right. The pastor has every right to speak his opinion just like Ellen Page does. I just will never understand people who shame others for their opinions, we all have such short lives let them live their life the way they want too. All that aside I don’t this was a very clever come back I think she could have rebutted with something like people of his same religion who supports lgbt or a bible verse that has something to do with god excepting all or to be kind/supportive to one another. Who knows anymore. Everyone needs to chill and just get along and agree to disagree because life is way to short to be fighting over things when we really should be joining together. It’ll never happen but we can hope.

You seem to be missing the point. The pastor wrote HER….she didn’t seek out or ask for his opinion, and she had every right to respond back, and she did so quite respectfully. And as all opinions go, anyone can have one as far as what they think of it. How you are calling her out for defending her beliefs and apparently having no problem with this pastor thrusting his opinions right in her face by writing her is beyond me. You think the pastor has every right to speak his opinion, which he does, I think he already crossed the line to write her directly but she sure has every right to respond.

As a gay dude, I like her standing up for herself, but then I immediately felt sorry for her when she said she doesn’t want the arms of the heavenly father around her. That’s just sad to me. Everyone has their beliefs & I believe she probably won’t go to heaven. Not for being gay, but for not having faith.

As another gay dude, I believe she probably won’t go to heaven because it doesn’t exist, not even with faith.

Unfortunately, some pastors and the religious right believe in a 3000 year old Jewish ethic code, in which the Jewish people of that time wrote. In this same code it states if children do not obey their parents they can be stoned to death. Tragically stone age! I think this Pastor, etc should not openly share their opinions about people for their gender preferences. It seems he is doing so because of his own beliefs, because Jesus never mentioned homosexuality. Not once.

    THE REVEREND FEELER Says:

Actually, being gay is exactly a belief. Just like bisexuality, and or faith healing. The reason why there are no lesbians in the Kingdom of God is because people don’t think like that there.

big disaapontment. i thought she is much clever than to judge. i thought her coming out speech was about not to judge people..but this comment is all about judging and making stereotypes

    Gina Says:

    @carpediem:

Doesn’t sound like she was making stereotypes or judging, sounds like she was throwing the pastors words back in his face. I firmly believe the pastor who wrote her spewed that crap about the Heavenly Father wrapping his arms around her in his letter, which is why she used that phrase.

The paster can think or say whatever he wants, but so can Ellen Paige. I think people need to remember that free speech doesn’t translate to say what you want and no one will respond or call you on it. Free speech means you get to say what you want as long as you don’t slander someone or cause danger i.e. yelling fire in a theater.

This paster tweeted his opinion to Ellen about the type of person she was and she responded, notice she didn’t even bother tagging him she just tweeted her thought.

Free speech works both ways, you can spew all the racist, homophobic crap you want but I or anyone else gets to call you a racist or homophobic soul and tell you that why you’re wrong and frankly disgusting. People also need to remember that free speech gives you the right to say what you want it however, doesn’t protect you from consequences of those comments.

I don’t care if she is gay/straight that makes no diff to me I just don’t think she is all that and a bag of chips. How the hell she won an Oscar for Juno which was like a Sun. night movie is beyond me.
As for her comment she wasn’t the least bit clever with her response.
Just don’t think she will go places as an actress.

Guys she wasn’t judging that pastor she was simply saying her opinion and speaking her mind ,which evidently was the same thing that pastor was doing to her. also leave her alone about that religious crap that’s her opinion and people shouldn’t ridicule her on it,I mean come on people.<3Ellen page
