Michael Strahan Could Be Part of 'Good Morning America' Soon!

UPDATE: Michael has confirmed that he will join GMA, but will remain at Live! with Kelly and Michael. “I just want everyone to know and you to know that no matter what, this is my No. 1 priority, and you are my No. 1 priority, and I would never do anything to jeopardize the quality of what I do here.”

Michael Strahan is in talks to join ABC’s Good Morning America!

“He’s not being brought in to replace Josh [Elliott, whose departure was announced Sunday]. He’s not taking anyone’s spot,” a close source to the 42-year-old former football player shared to People.

If the deal closes, Michael would be working on GMA as well as fulfilling his duties on Live with Kelly and Michael, which he co-hosts with Kelly Ripa.

In case you didn’t hear, Josh Elliott just exited the show for a spot on NBC Sports.

Who the hell keeps giving this guy jobs? Like he’s the Samuel L. Jackson of Television, White America thinks we want to see SLJ in EVERY DAMN Movie, and this no talent “teeth/lispe too damn distracting” Bunghole on every TV/Talk show. Um, NO THANKS

    Good for him Says:

@WTF: I really didn’t care for Michael — at first. Boy, was I picking him apart badly. I could not see his appeal. I watched the show a few times and he seemed to be in a cranky mood. He recently said he gets cranky if he doesn’t sleep or eat. Now that I have watched many more episodes, I think he is great. He is a “people person.” He’s not self-conscious. When Michael Strahan co-hosted the Oscar show with Kelly, I was quite impressed by the fact that he can talk to anyone in a natural way and have fun with it. He’s not shy. He is also not intimidated by stars. I think the powers in Hollywood (or wherever) need to give Michael that gig every single year. He did better than Ryan Seacrest!

    in addition, Says:

@WTF: Also Michael is engaged to the lovely Nicole Murphy (Eddie’s ex) and they both have children from prior marriages. Nicole is a classy woman and Michael is the man in that relationship. Good men take care of their women and children, so I wish him complete success in all his endeavors. It’s a blessing that he is getting so much work.

He’s worked his ass off so if he wants to throw in his hat for the job & try things out, let him go for it :) We need young & talented people in the workforce to keep the TV viewers to date of whats going on in the world. He’s a good announcer :)
